the only time I have heard serious piston slap is when I had a dome that was cut a little off and it was leaking coolant into the cylinder.. Any smoke or coolant issues?

the difference is that the X ring seals the O-rings by applying pressure in 4 places using an X shaped piece to apply the pressure...and X-ring chain is an O-ring chain, just with a better seal on it.

I'm looking for new paddles also, I have narrowed it down between Sand Stars and Skate II's. I think I dune way to much to run straight paddles (yea they work but V's are better for this)...Now im tempted to try those straight ones in the pic above...But how much do they weigh compared to Skat Tracks? it comes down to weight and durability usualy in my book. And Skat Tracks just don't hold up as long as molded tires...Thats why I love my Skate II's; decently light and good construction, although mine are pretty shot at this point... The Sand Stars look like they might hook up a little better but I believe they are also much heavier than the Skate II's? gotta multiply rotating mass times 10 to figure out weight differences compared to normal weight. So 4 lbs heavier per tire is like hauling around an additional 80 lbs....

Keep Air Box Or Clamp Ons?
Justintoxicated replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I mostly ride in the sand and needs lots airflow for the new setup so i'll be getting K&N's not a foam filter. I know the foam filters better, but htey need to be cleaned more frequently and also ristrict airflow. -
Exhaust Crackles Out Of Right.
Justintoxicated replied to BansheeBrian's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I have heard this rule but I could find now way aorund it? Care to clarify? On the left side the slide operated fine, but the right slide would not pull up untill later on because it needed to be tightened. So I tightened it..This is wrong? Now they both pull up at the same time but I think I may be having problems with the TORS. -
I have no idea, but the fastest bike I have sceen out there was a banshee with some type of street bike engine in it...It was REALL nice, sounded like turbo engine and shit. Was putting all other crazy modded shees to shame...I have no idea what kinda engine was in it, but it sounded cool as shit. That or some of the bikes mixing alcahol...Is there ever really a king? I wish I could see all the fast bikes go at it at once, but usualy the most I see at one time is on a big weekend. I usualy watch them go up the hills rather than the drags, much more interesting Anything is possible with 40,000 I think It would be better to buy a buggy for that much though

If you want the most life, definately have them both re-sleeved...Is't it great having a Twin Engine? heh. Might as well get them ported while your at it if you have not, more difference with porting than over bore

Keep Air Box Or Clamp Ons?
Justintoxicated replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
well i dunno I can't decide! -
Hey guys, I'm trying to decide what to do here. Im getting 33mm PWK's and I need to decide wether to switch to K&N clamp-ons or keep my 2->1 K&N with the airbox buy purchasing adapters? Right now I'm running no lid on the airbox anyways. my K&N is getting old as it is and I do not know if I need to replace it anyways or not. so far this is what I hav come up with for pro/cons... KEEP AIRBOX: pros: 1) helps to keep water put in the rare instance it is raining. 2) helps to support carbs (support from both sides) 3) might not need a new K&N air filter. cons: 1) Sand (or water) sometimes pile up or collects on the inside of the air box in sand storms, Actualy keeps sand in the air box K&N CLAMP ONS: pros: 1) More space to work on things, removes clunky airbox. 2) Easier Carb Adjustment. 3) don't have to worry about condition of old K&N cons: 1) loose support from the front of the carb. 2) No protection from water coming up from underneath. So what should I do?!?!

I run a DID X-ring...Good chain so far. With a Piped banshee I prefered 1 tooth less on the front (13 tooth) for more acceleration and power in higher gears (could pull 4th on hills I could only almost pull 4th in before) Or add 3 teeth to the rear is about the same thing....but I like to shoot hills...For more top speed and less acceleration you can go larger on the front and smaller on the rear.

Where Can I Buy A Leakdown Tester?
Justintoxicated replied to BansheeBrian's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
yes. -
Well I will have to call Ricky Stator then...I wanna be SURE it is the stator first though...I don't know what aftermarket stator to get if it is my Stator...I don;t think I would go with Another Ricky Stator if it died on me THIS FAST! I might have to try an OEM one... I hear the electrix sucks and stock sucks of course and I don't know of any other options. He no longer has a shop next to my house, I think he is strictly web based now But I hear he is sill kidna close by... Mine runs great of fresh plug though, so I'm not sure it is a problem with the stator...Maybe it's not getting enough spark after the plugs are used for a while..I did notice my headlights no longer seem very bright either
-
thats not what I was saying.... What I was saying is that if you are Jetted for mixing oil at 32/1 previously and switch to running 100/1 or 80/1 or whatever, you may have to re-jet to run that mixture properly...You should be running richer at 80/1 than you were at 32/1. Let me know what the problem is when you find out.
-
ledofthezep, I have the ricky stator, it has 2 seasons or about 12 desert trips on it...I figured it would last longer than that? Is there a way to check if my stator is still good? It looks brand new! I have barley even run this SOB! I did think my headlights looked a but dim on it, I know they are run on different coils but perhaps the whole thing is going bad? My bike sputters and pops @ WOT only wether or not I have the lights on. mixing 100 to 1 vs 32 to one will make you richer "supposedly" because you have more gas moxing with the air...Thats why people have to richen it up when they mix tons of oil... This is because we are talking about the fuel/air ratio, not the oil/fuel ratio...

Casing Landings Can Later Lead To Frustration!
Justintoxicated replied to Wassup350's topic in Rides Of Shame
I lost a set of sun glasses when I took them off to look at my friends bike...Set them on the back of the shee....when I took off I never found them again! -
no ideas but my banshee is doing the same thing for 1/2 season now I have messed with all kinds of jetting and can't figure it out... Changing your oil mixture to 100/1 from 32/1 will however make you run rich! You may need to lean it out...

Where Can I Buy A Leakdown Tester?
Justintoxicated replied to BansheeBrian's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I thought you were supposed to blow air 5lb into the case and then see fi the pressure drops...If it does add soapy water and watch for bubbles...I don't know how you oculd use a vacume to test???Or how it would help to identify the problem? Watch where your sucking water into the engine?!?!
