yea it does suck, i havent been 1 day without a job since was 16, im 28 now.....though most would love to draw unemployment and sit back and relax for a couple months i dnt think i can do it....i got a wife and 2 kids and though she makes decent money i gotta b the bread winner.....just dont feel right. having 9 yrs at the same job i thought i was safe but they layed off 61 out of 180 ppl and i was one of the unfortunate. sighs trust me i have every intention of leaving it to the pros but i just cant shell out 300 bones at a time like this..... wifey would not like that at all and i really dont feel like hearing the whole priorities, and are u serious speach..... hahahah i know i cant get a 100% finely tuned efficient port doing it myself, but i do know that i can do it and make it better than stock, ive done a few 4 strokes with good results but im also aware that its a totally diff science......

Well where do I start..... after 9 years @ 20.00 a hr ( which is way above average for my demographic) @ the same shithole I have finally joined the ranks of the unemployed.... The money i had in the bank for my 4mill setup, new cylinders and porting is now going to keeping me a damn house until I find further employment. Now i know that nobody is going to outright give out porting measurements because thats what they get paid for.... but im going to do it myself for now.... so from what i gathered, raising the exhaust port a couple mm builds power in the upper rpm? widen the intakes a few, and raise them a few mm as well and knife the bridge.......basically just make sure they dont offset the stock stroke of the piston right? this is just my take and me looking at all the pics ive seen.....im actually very handy with my rotary tool and wanna give it a shot and know itll be better than stock Im not just gonna dive in and hog it out...if i have to buy 10 base gaskets a shave a mm at a time, compare, shave some more, compare, then i will...... but i WOULD love a little direction, please....

I have 21x7x10 fronts and was wondering what do I input for the tire size into the Vapor? Im guessing it wants mm? not sure....... Thanks

whats the difference?

hahah yea man kinda like my 07 kawi zx14 Special Edition...... nothing is different from the others, just the paint scheme... and nothing special about the paint cuz a million other people can buy the same damn bike...lol but i got it for tha low low so o well but yea its just the plastics, and wheels on some other yr models -
I agree totally, it is the new guys that help make the forum revolve.... i personally (just me speaking) wouldnt spout off "use the search button, ur question has been asked 1,236,427 times" it is assholish in a way and the new guy is gonna either get defensive or leave the site....i mean do what you do but its not that hard to just anwser the question or just not respond if it aggravates you soooo bad. i personally havent had ne bad experiences on here and i love the site, i respect all the guys on here that are here to help and or offer advice....with the exception of a couple id knock the fucc out of hahhaah... but u can never fully undertand somones tone through words ona screen, and sometimes shit just gets taken out of context.... but ive seen ALOT of new guys get ass raped for asking a simple question and just think theres a better way to go about it....i personally cant respect anyone that belittles another man... get off ya high horse and help a brotha out lol u were in his shoes at one time... once again just my .02 and im not talking about anyone in particular.....

I would def get a timing advance plate, set it at +4........get u a coolhead and up the compression, i cant reccomend a dome size as im not sure of ur elevation but ur head could be shaved with 140lbs of compression, but u can go to near 160lbs with the need for race fuel.... with 17 41 gearing u should be able to toy with him on top end hahah i would drop down to stock 14 if it were me to give u a little more ass out the hole.... but depending on ur riding environment if u have the room to run a 17 stick with it..... ditch the fmfs for some cpi inframes or toomey T5s....im sure many of the more experienced gurus here will chime in! welcome to the forums

mud truck - thatz all im sayin, the original poster should follow up with what worked to fix the problem... instead of having to sift through 10 threads to find one person who did.... loco - im working on it....ive learned a shitload since Jan...gimme time......ill be building ur shit hahha
-
Just wanted to say that Alot of members constantly preach on using the search button but ive noticed more than half the posts, the original poster doesnt include a follow up on a fix on what actually fixed thier problem. Almost like they join, ask a question, get some info or knowledge from the gurus on here then just bounce. which makes using the search button useless. Also the off topic thread jacking is abundant. more than half the results bare no info to the original post...... just my .02

changing to the br8es plugs fixed it......it no lomger shuts off at high rpm, and i can actually use it....thanks fellaz
-
cool, thanks for the help....Ima grab some resisitor type plugs tomorrow and see if that fixes it. Also why doesn't anyone use the spade connection option directly to the coil instead of wrapping the plug wire?
-
is there any reason the Vapor cuts off if i rev it high? the comp goes blank and cuts off... i am running b8es plugs is that it? i have ppr set to 2 is this right? its ideling at 1400 rpms.....where should it b at?
-
thanks, ill just use dust shield......on the tach wire are u wrapping he plug wire 10 times? or can i just plug it into the orange wire from coil like option 2 on the directions??
-
Just got it in today, instructions arent quite clear, which wire did you tap into for the power? also anything else i need to know?? tricks? hints? etc...... water temp guage is straight forward, speed sensor how did you mount the bracket and sensor etc? thanks guys for the help.
-
RodneyA - correct sir! well partially, not having heads torqued down and excessive heat will allow the head room to tweak!!! I think loco's head is warped......hahahah man you can argue about a half empty glass..... so which is it? haha
-
yea ill probally fab up a mount like volfan's, fuk paying 80 bucks for a mount that costs as much as the unit itself, i seen it on ebay but to costly for me... so ima have to change my plugs huh? makes since, local auto parts store carrys the b8es not the br8es.....
-
BANSH-alena-jol-EE - I just had to tell ya, the name is bad ass! hahaha but yea like above, you'll see when you try to put em in that there are rubber triangle shaped tabs on your stock boots, cut em off and use a dremel or something to smooth the rubber down to make sure u get a good seal.
-
appreciate it, i think im gonna go head and cop it......
-
About to get me a trailtech vapor off ebay.....those who have it like it? I mainly just need a temp display, but mph and all the other features would be nice as well..... Do i need any mounting brackets etc? or if u buy brand new does it come with all mounting brackets? Thanks

2 fucking dollars? why? did he already move the money out of his paypal account or something? Damn man that sucks, sorry to hear about that. Hope everything turns out in your favor

my opinion..... break it in like your gonna ride it..... ever had a vehicle thats been babied all its life, take it out and smash the pedal through the floorboard? and it breaks.... i dunno its just me but i dont think proper break ins by the book affect engine life as much as proper routine maintenance and fresh oil....dont even wait till ya oil gets black, i change mine every couple of outings, well under scheduled intervals in my cars and motorcycles..... did i say fresh oil? i think that helps more than anything as far as engine life goes.... as far as ring seating? i heard and have always been told a few cycles of going through the gears and using the engine to brake instead of the brakes is plently. but at the end of the day its urs.... do what u want and most of all....enjoy!
