installed tors removal....have a question
Ieat4strokes replied to Ieat4strokes's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
appreciate it man, ill take caps off and clean slides real good tomm, also i forgot to mention i did debur the holes and touch-sanded with dremel to make sure they wouldnt hang up.... so much for that hhaha one more thang, im having issues with idle screw backing out due to vibration.... any simple fix? i was gonna try to find a small thin nut to use as a locknut but they dont have any that fine of a thread at coughworkcough....... -
ok i installed my tors removal from vitos today....i think my slides are sticking, when looking through airbox both are in sync, move and fall freely with a clunk. cable is not in a bind we checked it several times and its like it takes a while to idle down after blipping throttle. When cruising around yard it hung open on me but throttle wasnt sticking, it felt normal....is it possible i have slides in wrong carbs? i mean the ramps are facing outwards towards idle screw so i know they are in the carbs right. could my springs be weak? would weak springs cause it to not go directly to idle after pressing throttle? i had this problem before the tors install as well......thanks for any suggestions

user error when installing jets, dirt? man what the hell u talking about? i dont think u understood my post......... at all lol
-
well it was a sad day for m shee lol..... my buddy i talked about with the ported cylinders, T5s, v3's, 34mm carbs, shaved head etc that i consistently outran whooped my ass. With the help fom u guys on a jetting issue that we resolved on another thread i started "high rpm miss" we found he was waaaaaay rich and went down to 160 mains. it flat out screams now. and he probally beat me by 5 bikes or more.... so Thanks HQ for making my shee a turd lol
-
Thanks guys for all the help and input.... i finally got to pull the bowls and check his carbs myself and he had 180 mains.... we went and picked up some 160 jets and she screams now without a miss at all actually local builder said the same thing, that the 180 were waaaaaaaay to big and he recommended 160s as well..... so hopefully that fixed his issue....also it smokes alot less than before, about like mine now.... Brandon ima have to get with ya on the plug chop, never done one, just the old hold it wide open and shut it off test lol

Ieat4strokes replied to Ieat4strokes's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
appreciate it man.....got mine from vitos when i ordered the tors removal kit....not sure if its tygon but it should do the trick. -
Thanks man! ill def let him know.... were gonna put my coil on his tomm and rule that out, but i keep tellin him its jetting. It smoked more than mine in the winter, now its like a fuccin freight train lol since it has warmed up. mine hardly smokes at all except when i first start it but i need to step up to at least 300-310 mains.... i got 260s in it now.... checked the other day.
-
no one running pwks with similar mods? i would post pics of plugs for ya but there is not high speed internet avail in my area till April so they say. And fucc dial-up.... ive made 70 posts with my cell, talk about some dedication... got to be worth something hahahhahah

ordered some transparent blue 1/4 inch fuel line and 1/8 vent line the other day..... these were the only 2 choices they had. I knew the vent line was correct size but couldnt find nething on fuel line....will the 1/4 inch work??? thanks
-
ok well i told him to take carbs off and clean them good and let me know what size mains it had in it so i could let yall know. He said they had 18 on them and thats it..... Doesnt sound right to me... whats with the 18? also we are at 200ft asl, he has T5's, ported cylinders, shaved head (so he was told) he dont know if it has timing plate, hasnt looked) 36mm keihn pwk's, vforce 3's and uni pods..... where should he start with the main? thanks again guys i dont know much about the aftermarket carbs so i couldnt offer a suggestion.

so the warmer temp has something to do with it suddenly doing this? it only does it a wot at high rpm......like a sputter/miss. we did try leaner mix, went from 32:1 to 40:1 and it didnt help

cheetah cubs or stock ported?
Ieat4strokes replied to Ieat4strokes's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
yea from what im getting, cubs wouldnt be to friendly in the woods at all.... i do love to climb hills and sometimes they are to steep to be just flat out wide open throttle which is what im assuming u have to be for the cubs to work. -
well i have to say this, this past sunday there was a 700r at the track that was pretty bad ass, had cams power commander and piped and it gave me a few problems. basically we traded ass whoopin's all day. whoever got out the hole the best won. there was probally 6 inches of dust in the middle of the track and once i got over to the edged where i could hook i would win but it took me gettin my ass berat by a bike and a half a few times for me to figure it out. these things spin terribly especially with 6 inches of dust on the track. felt like i needed paddles lol.. i did race a few yfzs and a honda 450r also and the yfz faired way better than the honda did. but to anwser a question from a previous post yea im leaving out in second with throttle pinned and just dumping the clutch. ohh well im having a blast and thats all that matters. since they all think ive got it built ima grant thier wishes here in a week or so.... peace

cheetah cubs or stock ported?
Ieat4strokes replied to Ieat4strokes's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
dajogejr - im not stuck on a cub i was just askin is it worth the extra cash for a cheetah or some stockers that are ported by a builder from this site. im choosing Brandon at Wildcard racing to do my work for me and i was just wondering the differences between the 2 on a personal level...thats all I have looked into the PV motors and would love to try one but the wife would throw a fit lol... so basically i was gonna go dune ported stockers, 4 mill hotrods crank welded, TZ bearings, pancake bearing, T5s, 32 mikuni carbs, intakes, i already have the cool head and timing advance with vforce3s on the way . would this be a competitive setup for some dirt dragging against ur average racer? like i said none has nething extreme around here mainly bolts ons, cams etc. THANKS guys for all the input....... -
cheetah cubs or stock ported?
Ieat4strokes replied to Ieat4strokes's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
well i do alot of dirt draggin..... there are miles of tight wooded trails leading to the track and some technical hills.... i do love to climb hills, the longer and steeper the better. i also love to drag and noone here has anything extreme just 4 bangers with programmers, pipes and cams, there are about 8 other shees out here that show up regularly and honestly i havent had any problems from them at all....i want to be competitive and so far i have no problems but i get bored with the power and want more! but i dont wanna loose ALL trailability but i also want her to scream at the drag. so thats why i stated toomeys because i do want some grunt down low and not a full on drag pipe....if i were to go with cpi inframes would i have nothing down low? or is my setup all wrong? -
cheetah cubs or stock ported?
Ieat4strokes replied to Ieat4strokes's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
basically what im saying is will i get more hp going from stock cylinders to cubs or stock cylinders to ported cylinders by a reputable builder from this site? ive been talking witha a builder and was basically told i wanted a dune port for my riding style. so dune ported stockers or cubs? one last newbie question hahah..... ok i know a set of cylinders can be bored so many times before thier done or sleeved. when trying to find me some how do u determine how many bores u have left? i know stock is 64mm so what about 65.5? how many times have they been bored and how many bores do they have left? my stockers have been bored .40..... how much do i have left on them? Thanks alot! -
getting ready to do a major overhaul, ported cylinders, vforce 3's, T5's and carbs, undecided on 4 mill yet.... just wanting your opinions on cheetahs vs. stock ported. basically i can get some virgin cylinders and have them ported or just get a set of cheetahs. whats the pros and cons? If u can make as much power with some stockers and a good port why go with the more expensive cubs?

actually yesterday was the first over 60 degree weather weve had since hes had the shee.....it ran great when colder and wasnt missing popping etc.....jetting issue? to rich?
-
u may remember my coincidence or not thread...... buddy of mine has a 03 with T5s ported cylinders, vf3's, 36mm keihns pwk's and uni pods that he recently bought. neways at high rpms its like its missing or cutting out and popping....smokes way more than mine and mainly from his right pipe....we changed plugs and it stopped for a while then started back, from looking at his plugs i thought it looked like it was running rich they were dark black and oily only brown on very tip of electrode? hence the extra smoke but he says it just started doing it.... compression is good..... and we cleaned filters etc..... where would u guys start looking first?
-
well i actually thought that my nuts where sized correctly and in this case it proved me wrong hahhah im just gonna add a couple stainless lock washers to em and see what happens....the orings in between the head and studs should stop any leaks from happening right?
-
Got my chromed acorn style head nuts today from cascade and was gonna swap out the stock nuts, damn studs are too long and the acorn nuts are not deep enough, could i just add washers? really dont wanna take it all apart again to try to screw studs in farther. Thanks

chariot timing plate/stator wires
Ieat4strokes replied to official_style's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i had the same issue with mine..... factory screws wouldnt go into the chariout plate, ended up having to go to hardware store and get some new allen head screws, with a little cohersion i got it to work, You have to at least screw the top clamp into the plate for the ground.
