checked for air leaks, on crossover, manifolds etc, found none. down to bad gas or dirt carbs. for the bad gas, only time will tell, and for cleaning the carbs ill get to that soon. my guess now is bad gas,i put my ear on each side of the carbs when it was idling, and when it started to die i revved it, and the air throaty noise would come for 1 or 2 sec, and i heard it coming from both carbs. both the plugs are almost identical in color too. so if its bad float levels, dirty carbs etc, cant be happened to both carbs same problem, kinda rare... or am i just stupid etc and i shouldnt be able to tell if i can hear noises from right and left and im just hearing the other carb making the noise? ill keep you guys updated, as soon as its 100% fixed, i got DMC 916s waiting at the local store for me to buy

can somebody please tell me about this airscrew ( the small golden screw which sits on the outside of the carb, on its left side ). TIGHTENing it means MORE or LESS gas? thanks, many people told me different opinions i dont know who to listen to, im really confused.

BlasterKX! noooo that sucks! i guess ill have to wait on those carb cleaning pics xD hope all gets better.

checkoff list- fill in and reply- you have new br8 plugs. (yes) you have checked for air leaks by spraying between the carbs an egine withwd-40 or propane.( how would i know if i sprayed WD 40 on it?) you have cleaned out the carbs, removed the jets, wrote down the numbers, cleaned, and installed. (no) set the air screws at 1.5 turns, then adjusted when warmed up. ( how do i know whats good and bad, how will i know that that # of turns is better or worse?, the last time i adjusted on my blaster it sounded slightly different but i ddnt know which is better lol) synced the carbs. (yes)

why do people say" rad valve" its reed valve. For a pipe, the only best top end is LRD, its the number 1 top end pipe for blasters. DO not get FMF pipes for blasters they suck aswell as DG. both those are like stock, i have had a blaster for 2 years and tried countless pipes. i kept my Factory 7 pipe, its the best all around pipe. Toomeys arent bad too. for the blaster, not as good as they are for banshees. get a pod filter and high rejet is the best mod you can do to it other than porting, best bolt on is a pod + rejet, then a pipe., then reed valves. then porting, if your gonna port, go for bigger carb.

lol, a friend of mine is relative to the owner of the dealership here where i live. he had a raptor 350 to start with, just got a 700r maybe 3 weeks ago, and now he wants the new 450r, cause its lighter and faster, he thinks the 700 is too heavy and i dunno what, he wants more sporty lol. so hes gonna have 3 different 4 pokes at once in his garage , till he sells the 350 and 700 -
lol. the air lid is on the only thing thats off is the snorkle. and i checked if there is any leak from the air box to the carbs, on the ruber tubes which give air to it, and found no leak. the only possible leak if any is if there is a leak on the manifolds. i was also thinking, maybe it could be a problem with the reeds? tomorrow morning ill post a new vid of me starting it from scratch, and exactly how it sounds etc, and ill try to get it with a better quality sound. i cant wait to fix this problem, cause when i do im gonna get pipes, filter ( pods or 2in1) and maybe some VF-3s.

im 200% sure it sounds like there is too much air coming into the engine, no doubt, in video, when you see the timer on 0:50 (counting backwards, so only after 6 secs on the vid) exactly when the timer shows 0:50, thats when i revved it and you hear the air noise for a sec the nit revs high and loud and normal, thats exactly the noise, if its unclear tomorow when its cold ill record from when i kick it over so you can hear. and i double checked the airbox, no leak. its funny cause, if there is a leak, that air noise would constantly be on it and not go away, this problem is weird and unique, cause it comes, and after 2 taps of me pushing the throttle, the air noise go's away and it revs normally. here is the video link again http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x182/bl...nt=Video003.flv just focus on the first 7 secs, the end and rest of the vid the noise does not come

gah...ok... i rode it just now again.. and this is mostly what im noticing. when i just fire it up, it still has that "extra air" sound, and i have to keep revving it so it can rev high, if i leave it and not rev it like dies off and you can hear massive amounts of air, then i rev you still hear the loud air throaty noise then normal high revving sound without loads of air. i rode it around for 15 mins, then when i put it back in my garage it idled fine at normal sound and no super lean air throaty noise that sounds like its gonna die out. its fine but thats when its like heated up. now all thats left of what you guys told me is carb cleaning. and yes i do have a foam filter, brand new and no leaks from the airbox at all. so knowing that there is no air leaks, and we have this restrictive air filter, i dont understand, even if the carb is dirty, how does that extra air come and from where? please note that the possibility of the problem being dirty or bad oil mix or fuel is not yet canceled out as a factor or a problem that it could be causing. i added new 32:1 premix with yamalub 2R, on top of the very little remaining fuel he had, because that damn petcock would not get out of place so from all this info, could it be an air leak? is there a way to find out if maybe its only coming from 1 carb and not the other possibly? thanks.
-
new filter is oiled and there IS a lid ofc. just has no snorkle. i put my new gas in addition to the old gas ( there was very little left), and i found it impossible to remove the fuel petcock from the T, and i thought even if i did remove it would be as hard to put back on. shee runs much better now, and almost never has that air problem, it came maybe 2 times in my 45 min ride today. all was good and the engine was not smoking lol. gonna ride right now for 15 mins, ill tell you guys how it go's after some time if shees not perfect im gonna clean the carbs out for sure. thanks alot for your help
-
yeah i read that jetting FAQ. i think its the fuel now, i hope it is so i wont have to be cleaning out the carbs. because when i asked the owner what brand of oil he is using to premix he told me "any oil at any gas station" so im thinking he maybe got 2 different brands etc and they mixed and the fuel is bad. so im guessing when it runs with "alot of air" at random its because of lean mixture at some points from bad and mixed oil. hope than when i change the fuel she will run fine
-
just came back, got a new stock foam filter, i put it on, same problem but it occurs less, i got ready 32:1 mixture using yamalube 2R i just bought, but now i need to just drain the tank. so at this point it could be the gas or the dirty carbs problem, or possible an intake leak, which i highly doubt. Im trying now to remove the fuel petcock to where it connects to the T, to rain the fuel, but its damn hard lol. if i replaced the fuel and its still bad, im gonna check and clean the carbs.
-
im not touching or messing with the slides, or needles etc, there is no way i can do that, trust me, i have a spare carb to play with when i bought it for my blaster i ended up never putting it on cause i couldnt even attach the throttle cable. all im gonna do is take the bowl off, and clean by the pilot jet and mains, and re put the bowl back. and somehow re attach it. if that does not work, it is going for service. i sure hope that bloody works. as for putting new 30:1 gas, with proper oil, i just called the guy who sold me the shee asking him what brand of oil he used and he told me "any kind of 2 stroke motor oil from any gas station". lol -.- so i hope the new brand i get is quite similar or im sure ill be having problems, oh and how do i drain the fuel completely out of the tank?

cool, thanks alot mate and the other one should i put it on the cyl head or the jug? -
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=370138422738 these will be usefull, but, should i put it on the cylinder head or on the juggs? when ppl say like at 200F you should let it cool, meaning the head or the juggs? or are they always or about the same temp? and for the second sticker, where exactly on the radiator does it go, and whats the max temp for the radiator to be safe?

FMF's, need a starting point please!
blaster2006 replied to YFZRida05's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
lol, 270 is 7 sizes up, just for an fmf, i think its maybe abit too rich, but go ahead. i was thinking when i get pipes and a 2in1 k&N ( with lid, no snorkle) i would run 260's. just pipes need 3 or 4 sizes higer from what is running as perfect jetting, if you are thinking 270s are lean i say no way, for the oil id stick on what it reccomends -
Bahrain (just next to saudi arabia, 30 mins by car)
-
i also wonder what they do, i think you just wrap it around the silencer and it makes it less noisy? if so those would be usefull, i live in a residential area, and those would be usefull if i ge aftermarket pipes
-
yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss do that lol. please xD thanks alot if you can get vids, it would be even better, and lol, show me a good technique of how to put them back in that damn rubber boot of the airbox!! thanks xD
-
