  1. ok cool. so if i see an "SAE 80" or SAE 85 that MEANS its an "80 or 85 WEIGHT oil" like you guys mentioned i should use, correct? as for that ATF type F. no, not possible. unless i order it... i dont live in the states, we dont have that oil here
  2. so when it says only SAE 90 or SAE 80, meaning its an 80 or 90 weight correct? would a SAE90 be good for the banshee?
  3. i personally would do it, but also never get an FMF from the first place. i know for a fact that for the blaster, FMF's are the #1 worst pipes you can get. its the exact same shape as the stock pipe, they just forged the stocker and made it lighter and in chrome. locally people also say the FMFs are very bad for the banshee too, and were just made without any research etc (they just made a random pipe that works for the banshee) they did not research how to make it perform in a certain way, making exact calculations for the expansion chamber etc. where i live, everybody hates FMF and say they suck. dont know how it really performs myself. thats just me and what they say locally here...
  4. heya, i asked some time ago about the banshee tranny oils. and you all said its better to use an 80 or 85 weight oil instead of the recommended SAE10w-30. you all also said its fine to use SAE10w-30, aslong as it does not have additives chemicals for anti-friction. the problem is, the SAE10w-30 i have has those chemicals in it and i dont want my clutch slipping so i aint gonna use it. i went to some car accessories shops today and none of them had sae10w-30... and i could find "85 weight" oil, when i asked the shopkeepers about 85 weight, they did not understand, all they have are oils with SAE and 2 numbers, such as SAE 20w-50 and SAE10w-40 SAW 10w-50, all those kinds except SAE 10w-30. i managed to find one bottle that said only "SAE: 90" and "API:GL-1" other than that they were all "XXW-XX" 2 numbers.. couldnt find just 85w oil. so can someone explain to me what an 85 weight oil is... or what else it could be called. also if i cant find any of these can i just use SAE10w-40 ( as the yamaha dealer always uses that on my banshee when i send it for service.. because they also dont have 10w-30, so they just use 10w-40 and say its ok)
  5. when you say 06, meaning those plastics are 06? i ddnt know they made all black ones
  6. lol?? -.- whats the point of asking if he would take 90 , then saying 100 is fine. lol...
  7. sorry my bad i thought he meant something else.
  8. hmm, im not too sure what pipe cuts means also... ive seen a bnahsee once with like cuts all over the pipe, is that what he means? how would that shorten the expansion chambers?
  9. i have the exact same problem... but when i get my bogs at low rpm on 1st and second when taking off the bog is not exactly a bog, the sound just dies as if its bogging, it sounds as if it turns off and it has no pull, then when i push the thorttle after 1 second it reacts and jumps and pulls, and the turning off thing, i later figured out that its a massive "air noise" coming into it, people told me its an air leak or dirty carbs. if when you say it "bogs" when you take off if you dont gas it full, if you mean it like sounds like its gonna turn off etc, thats exactly my problem too. btw it also happens to me SOMETIMES on idle. when its revving normally, the sound gets lower and lower and sounds like its gonna turn off, and then when you rev it you hear deep air throaty noises. but most of the time it idles fine, but that bog problem ALWAYS happens when you said it does for you also.
  10. you said "trinity 2 to 1 and 25mm carb", theres no way you are running a 25mm carb for 2 cylinders. maybe its a typo and you meant 35mm? if you get porting, the thing that you MUST get are carbs( highly reccomended dual carbs, id go with dual carbs at 30mm each in your case, and not the noss head etc. thats optional, the biggest thing that you will need to get the most out of porting is new carbs. then come the other things. as for a arms and shocks etc, personally i would leave those for last, i personally prefer power over comfort when spending my money. thats just me and it seems you are also looking for more power and not comfort.
  11. if someone can also explain to me, how making those cuts on the pipes improves performance?
  12. 5 gallons of gas = 18.92 litres. 1 quart of oil = 0.946 litres. your mixing at exactly 20:1, that mixture is good for the quad to last longer, but abit lean as for the mixture, but i guess he just jetted it higher to compensate. thats the same ratio the guy who sold me his banshee was using, i straight away bumped up to 32:1 using yamalube 2R.
  13. im pretty sure its 21cc or 22cc.. depending on elevation... so if your high up 21cc would just be enough to run pump gas. thats just what ive heard for the cool head, yeah, why go with old style, go with the new style one piece..
  14. hmm, sea level, 120 psi, and 125 on the left cylinder( with like threads of the compression tester going in the cylinder only like 1/3 of an inch or so) i could try to use the adapter for the compression tester with the longer and bigger threads. although that one is abit too big. it is maybe 2-3mm longer than the br8es threads (i dont know well about this) but i was also abit scared if i used that ... the piston might hit it since its abit bigger than the spark plug XD? will it? or is it safe to use
  15. i always wondered why you had T6s on that insane bike of yours, good your gonna sell them now, even toomey says they are only good for stock engines
  16. it only looks very slightly rich to me.. for me it looks pefect, good to be abit rich
  17. lol shogs good 1 hahaaha before i bought my 06 banshee, i was looking at a few shees, this one guy had 3 of them, i asked him which he thinks is in best condition and runs best, he said "this white one, fully modded .. pipes, filter, reeds, and look BOOST BOTTLE!" LOL
  18. so its just tight, but its smooth though? its not like, (how am i gonna explain this) it does not like let go at differnet strengths or feel bad or get stuck. so its smooth but just tight, and when you let go its relatively smooth? if so its just rusted wires or bad springs it would be better to go with a new clutch kit, knowing its a 99 model ( 10 years old), and still running that stock clutch
  19. if your running perfect or slightly rich with 190s at hot temp, yeah, slapping on that snorkle sounds good for colder riding if you are even slightly lean with the 190s at hot temp, throwing the snorkle wont do the trick so just put the snorkle and id go with 1.5 turns out on airscrew or 1.75
  20. were just hoping its not a broken crank, so he can just go with the cub kit from fast to match his already installed 4mm stroker. then it will be upgraded power and good as new
  21. get a new clutch kit and billet basket. is it stiff like, for example, when you are 1st, and want to take off, if you let go it, it does not let go smoothly? and it gets stuck etc, feels as if you got rusted wires?
  22. yeah, changing top end gaskets are pretty easy imo. i will do it eventually. i plan on keeping it running good for abit longer than 1 year from now, cause then im selling it because im moving out of the country. the problem is re-ringing and replacing pistons and expecially those rings, i dont even know how to put the rings or compress or make that clearance between the rings and cylinder lol. it seems too complicated for me. taking the cylinders off and back on is more than enough to do myself. i live on an island, in the middle east, so yeah, we just got the yamaha dealer and service center here. no like proffessional motor builders for bikes thats why things are bit tough for me.
  23. problem is i bought it used, he tells me he ddnt use it much etc. but by looking at the front tires, (stock) he never replaced them, they have like 10% tread, i should replace them asap. they are really worn out. which means he rode it alot etc, but its very clean and he kept telling me it has low hours on it. so god knows how many hours its got.
  24. hmm. my really old mate of mine, had a banshee, with the normal ol pipe, reeds, filter mods. He ran 30mm carbs and it was fine he told me, he couldnt compare it with 26mm, as he put them on with the mods, but he said it ran great no problems. go with 32s id say . if you can get 30s, then why not. but between 28mm and 32, fo sho get 32's, and those pro circuit pipes of yours will compensate for the bottom end loss 32s sound perfect to me, for later if you plan on getting a stroker like others said. thats just my opinion tho
