  1. ride more often, and you won't notice it
  2. if the tanks at the gas station are almost empty, they will build condensation more likely. best time to fill up is 1 day after it's filled, unless it's a higher volume station, then just wait a few hours, so the fuel has time to settle, but is still fresh. i have also heard people caim they saw the truck pump the same gas into all tanks, but the tankeer we have at work is actually 5 separate chambers valved to one hose.
  3. exhaust porting principals (4 stroke) the same- manipulates the pulses into a "check" effect
  4. the first ones look like they would cause excess turbulance, but the chairiots look like they would flow about the best. i'd love to be able to design my own
  5. believe it or not, leaving them will increase air velocity to the reeds
  6. they tigten down fine without slop, just seem like alota play untill it huts the gasket
  7. don't forget that the drain plug uses a replaceable copper washer to seal it
  8. you should see how many jets we have flying up here every day, speak of the devil- here comes some more
  9. how'bout $10 cash for the intakes, and i'll pick them up? wanna part with the 27.5's?
  10. i'm headed out today, and probably this weekend. lemmie know, and maybey hit sutton coal mine area.
  11. pry your intakes around and look for the crack where oil is coming through. a little cracking is normal, but once there is premix creeping, it's an airleak. if it's coming from the bore that seals on the carb, use some sandpaper, or scotch brite to seal it. if the premix can get to the outside of the intakes, then air can get in. i've had both leaks before. gemini- has it thrown a chain before? pressurewash the engine, and throw something dry and fine, like cornstartch, or something that will rinse off easy. kinda like "rool 'er in flower to find the wet spot" you might wanna run it for a couple seconds after you wash it. do you have a skidplate?
  12. ham hands? is that like sausage fingers? i have a left carb body. $20 if anyone's interested. anyone have a problem with the eliminator caps being sloppy?
  13. You can blip the throttle once or twice when that happens. only happened to me after sitting at the beach over night, and jetting in the rain.
  14. thread files are a godsend
  15. check for airleaks, and make sure the choke tube is in place. it's the little vaccuume hose coming from the back of the choke plunger directly across to the other carb.
  16. whatcha lookin for?
  17. count me in for more foot grip
  18. i ejaculated over getting my 97 for a grand. good deal. are you keepin the plastics? what condition? i have a few stress marks on mine, but i dont want to cut them. most likely interested in the rims, too. lemmie know  p.s. i have a spare left carb body.
  19. well, is it a backfire, or just popping from the exhaust? popping from one side is normal if it's not synced up good, and a little evenly with some pipes.
  20. well... I would have liked to vote torco, because they make awesome oils, and i would've ran it, or voted atf, because it's real close to what i do run. i run gm autotrak II. the main reason i had to search for the right oill and chose this stuff, is that i needed to perform below zero in regards to clutch operation. it's designed to perform in both planetary gear systems, and wet clutch operation at all temperatures. it also highly outperforms atf in it's designated aplication- automatic tranfer cases. proper coushining and viscosity, without hindering the holding ability of the clutch. so far, i am extremely impressed with the oil. absolutely no unwanted slippage, or signs of wear. neutrall became 100x easier to find while running. it's just what i found, but i won't swear by it or push it on anyone, untill i have at least a year of good performance without complaint. it's about $8 for an oil change, and i did so, before i went out for a 4 day ride, and the oil was pretty much the ame as when i put it in there with 10+hrs. on it, but it was the 2nd oil change, and i wanted to make sure the previous oil was flushed completely.
  21. ho old is the fuel?
  22. haha......WTF! you sold the shee? FAIL just don't loose the avatar, now
  23. if you are buying your fuel @ 2100ft, then there is a 50/50 chance that it will be the higher elevation fuel that you need to richen th mains 1-2 sizes over normal sea level jetting. if you are ridding against water, it will richen up a bit. try one kick with the choke, then push the choke back in and blip a little when it fires. adjust the airscrews after it warms up, and it should start normal.
