  1. new pilots can still get plugged. u run a small piece of wire through the pilot passage, or compressed air? u cleaned when it happened? check float heights? check reeds. good blue spark when you kick it? set pickup gap? i know guys having to clean the carbs as much as 5 times, and needing wire and compressed air to finally get all the junk you can't see cleared out. 90psi isn't too bad for 4k altitude. still, go buy the 12dollar head gasket and take a look @ your cylinders/pistons. u have 27.5's?
  2. do a plug chop the way it is, with fresh fuel. you'll probably be going back to the 300's, or 310's. you can search how to do the plug chop in the piunned topics in this section
  3. what's wrong with your stator?
  4. holly fucking confusing post, batman. only bore it out as much as it needs to freshen it up. the guy diong the bore/hone should tell you how much it needs. what's your elevation? what do your cylinders look like? have you cleaned your carbs out real good? sounds like a plugged pilot on the left carb. if that side cooked from running lean, there would be uneven compression. how old is the gas in the tank? i'm not saying it's not time for a rebuild; you're most likely due, but i think there's another problem going on that you need to track down
  5. i don't care who yolu are. that's some funny ass shit right there
  6. x2, you have to go by how it feels/runs. what concerns me is the dark rings on both ends of the insulator. that could be detonation, or dirty fingers. being lean could let the color appear from the oil. Bring your mains up untill it sputters on the topend, and then back down to make power/ clears up.
  7. do a plug chop to get your mains right, then start with the needles in the middle and the airscrews @ 1.5 turns out. sync your carbs, also.
  8. i've heard about that before. i think it happens from someone trying to force the slide in when it's not perfectly lined up, then it's just loose after that tomove around.
  9. running +5 and 20cc domes here, and it has an awesome midrange, but less rev out than before. 95 octane (50/50 90 pump& 100LL avgas) no detonation, good high altitude power riddin the mountain. i like to keep near the limit, running just enough octane. i did try strait 100LL and yeilded less power. basically, going +6 and running domes that could be between 22 and 19, you may be loosing power, or pretty close, but i doubt you need strait110, if jetted properly. take your readings to determin the octane need
  10. BuUMp
  11. mmmmmmmmmmmWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!/1!!!!!1!!!! you're too early :: :: :: :verymad: :shoothead:
  12. mind if I interject? i did notice going +5, that i gained alot of mid and mid-low, but lost some topend power. if i had a cdi, i know i could go as much as +7 on the bottom, +4-5 in the mid, and somewhere around stock or retarded on the top. this way, i could push the limits for bottom and mid, while still staying somewhat safer in the topend, where i'm most likely to detonate. plus, some smoother running @ and near idle. i'm gonna try bugeting a cdi soon. i thaught u were selling the cable/software, snoop.... whoah, 2 more replies. that's what i get for posting and watching a movie. btw, how much u charge to program?
  13. the record right before the hard drive swap was 178 on 5/5/2009, so i guess it's been reset more than once.
  14. maybey he's voulanteering to cover the topend  i've never seen another place where people reuse old rings, which i guess is ok sometimes on small engines sometimes, but i'd never desuade someone from replacing them
  15. hehe, funny thing you mention this... it actually would run near and above the resonant rpm that works with the flow dynamics........ :geek: but.... that's not the case here they were probably sent with the juggs, or you simply just don't remember them. make sure the port edges are chamfered some when you get the cylinders back, or it'll tear the rings up, and mabey pull a ring land, or worse. check the pickup gap and jetting when you put it back together. then, take a base compression reading for future basis.
  16. no lid
  17. kinda hard to walk it through a river on some trails
  18. start with the airscrews @ 1.5 turns out, and mix you oil less, if you are still @ 20:1, move to 32:1. then do a plug chop. compare your elements/ mods here
  19. if you are real tight, and wanna make power, i can do a deal with you. i have my stock crank, running real strong, no vibrations, noise, or any other issues that i know of. I also have some fmf god series pipes paired with toomy stingers, that rip your arms of in the mid-top range, that i will send with some jets, and possibly something else you need. trade strait for the 4 mill if it is so. I'm not trying to rip anyone off, so someone step up if it seems like a bad deal. if your interested, try to carefully clamp the crank bearing, or set it in the case, and measure the stroke, and let me know I'm planning on starting a 4 mill build soon, and probably pv cyls
  20. good point, there.... maybey my biiet adapter isn't sealing up good, or the outterware. but i'm just wondering what makes it runaway
  21. anyone narrow down exactly what makes the carbs runaway when they get a little wet, or has condensation inside, from sitting overnight? the slides don't seem to drag/stick at all. could it be freezing? getting annoying, but it does go away with heat, like if i ride through a river, it only lasts a few seconds, but can take 5-10 min after a humid night
  22. if you aren't running a spacer on the bottom, then the 21's just became MUCH smaller, realatively, because the extra stroke really changes the cr. and, yes, you are detonating. new plugs= +5/8 turn after gasket ring touches.
  23. if that's the case, then the procircuits will most likely work. they are like 3-4" back from fmf and toomy joints. they are complete oposite from the cpi's, for powerrange, but just as amazing.
  24. i have what you need, but it's with modded fmf silencers. are you looking too see how they line up against the airbox? there is touching because the clamps hit the frame. it also almost touches the fuel valve. however, how amazingly they perform severely outweighs any allignment issue, and it's just a tiny bit of melting on the box.
