  1. damn woodman, did somebody hit a nerve? haha its all good, everyone has there own way they like to do things. some like to open a catalog and circle part numbers, others like to make shit fit. neither way is wrong, just preference. so now that your logged on post some pics! i wanna see them for sure. checkster
  2. what fun is that? its like Jesse James says. "If you have to ask why, you just wouldnt understand." same reason i put an 01 Yamaha R6 tail on my kawasaki ZX7R......cause I could! check
  3. while I can see your point Eric, I dont entirely agree. Personally I like to fab stuff and tinker. Really though with all the access I have to tooling an machinery a little cutting and welding isnt that big of a deal. Now if you have to pay sombody else, then yeah it isnt worth it. check
  4. I have always been under the impression that bringing the piston to TDC and doing a cylinder leakdown test was the way to check piston blow by(on a two stroke) and bring the piston to BCD checks the seals. Am I wrong? Please elaborate. thanks check
  5. do you need long travel arms with them? 17" is pretty long for stock aint it? am i missing something here? check
  6. well you could at least measure the ring gap while its apart. place the rings in hte cylinder about 1/3 of the way down the bore and square it up using the piston form the cylinder. check the gap per the assembly manual specs. if the gap is out of spec the rings are worn. hone and replace with new rings. oh yeah check the bore size as well to make sure it in spec. check
  7. couldnt hurt to re-ring it. unfortunately the best thing would have been to do a leakdowntest before you ripped it apart. have you done a leakdown test on the rings or compression test lately as this would have been a good indicator to do some maintainance while you have it apart. since it apart you could always measure the ring gap that might give you a little info. checkster
  8. yeah i see your point. could get expensive quick! oh well, guess i will thick of something else to piss the spend money away on. check
  9. shhhhhhhhhh......ive been watching it for a while. keep it down or somebody will get them instead of me...........hahaha check

  13. hey look, everyone has there own preference. i have serious doubts as to the "protection" factor of covers. i can see covers protecting from dust or sand but if a rock hits your shock its guna chip the spring cover or not. im not saying they are a waste or anything, i just dont think they are for me. i guess i can be that way though cause i always ride by myself or with my kid so i rarely have anyone in front of me spewing up crap and throwing it on my bike. if that was the case, id probably get them. now the neoprene ones i have seen look worth it cause they are thicker and offer more protection. check
  14. I WOULDNT CAUSE I HATE SHOCK COVERS.
  15. there are some 450 arms on ebay right now. when i inquired how they were modded to fit a banshee the guy spewed off some shit about he couldnt tell me how he did it or i would make them myself........ i think if i built a freakin tube chassis drag car before, i could handle a set of a-arms if i put my mind to it. im getting closer everyday to making my own considering people want 500 bucks for 50 dollars worth of tubing and 4 heim joints. anyways, im getting of the subject. my guess is they could be made to fit if you have a right tools (welder, grinder, etc, etc) but they are not going to bolt right up thats for sure. checkster
  16. on there website produts, what is the purple plate under the sprocket? is it a block off or something. i noticed the plastic one on my banshee but never knew what it was for. thanks checkster
  17. i have only had it about a year, its a 1997. the guy said he never rebuilt it, but when i bought it it also looked like he barely ever rode it either. dont get me wrong it ran great before the milling. maybe i should stick a set of rings in it. dont really have the funds right now for a new piston and bore. i was hoping i could bump up the compression a little and put off the top end til next winter.
  18. got the head milled on my banhsee .030". figured it would give me more compression than it actually did. before was 110, now it up to 120. does this sound right? i thought it would be higher. checkster
  19. i have a yellow front shock, good condition. checkster

  22. when you guys say polish, do you mean the outside for appearance or the combustion chamber? i am picking up my head from the machine shop tonight and could polish and chambers before i put them on if it will help. I thought it would be better rough though to promote combustion. comments anyone? checkster
