I did a search on power pistons and found your pics you posted. I had two questions for you last night when I received my 20 over kit in the mail, but I think the pics answered one. The first was piston port location. I know they mod the windows but mine looked like they are 1/4" higher than stock. Didnt know if they were suppose to be this much higher. Anyways, I think that ones taken care of. Second part.......Here goes. Last night took everything out of the box to see what I had. Well Im standing there checking everything out lining up the power pistons next to the stock ones and I was like what the f*#k? The arrow on the piston crown is facing the wrong way(you gotta laugh a such a simple screw up). I really dont think this is a problem as long as I pay attention to it when I assemble the motor and just dont go by the arrow mark. But do you see any potential problems with this? Just curious as I dont feel like tearing it apart twice. I posted some pics see for yourself. Its hard to see though. check

I have searched all the old posts. The posts talked about TDR making two different thicknesses, but when I go to order them they dont list them by thickness. They make epoxy and carbon? Am I missing something here? Do they make epoxy in different thicknesses or it is just carbon or epoxy. I wanna order them but which ones guys? P.S. With all the info on the list I ported my cages the other night, turned out sweet. Thanks for all the info or I probably would have never thought of or done this mod. checkster

oh i dont know, say $500 total. whats a good mx port run? can i keep the stock carbs of i run out of money? dont wanna hav to buy two big carbs checkster -
OK guys, Im redoing the top end after a compression and ring leakdown test. (110 psi and 20% ring leakdown) Tore the bike apart last night and wanted some opinions. My banshee is a 97 and it looks like its never been rebuilt(got it used). Motor wise its bone stock excpet for t5's, jet kit, air filter, and .030 cut head. It ran great, but the low compression was bugging me and id rather redo it now than wait til it grenades. I was looking into what type of pistons you guys recommend and any other mods that could be done while its apart. Let me just say up front I just redid my sons kx60 motor, and I dont have alot of money right now for $500 dollar port jobs, stroking, big bores, and stuff like that. Basically I want to bore, hone and throw new pistons in it. Is there anything else I could do that wouldnt be to pricey to perk it up a bit? I mostly ride MX and trails and if I did anything to increase performance Id like it one the bottom end instead of having all top end. I have listed what I have been considering doing, let me know what you think? I know you guys know your shit, so hook me up! Is there anything else, like cleaning up the ports or anything I could do (dont want to get to radical as I dont know 2 stroke porting) maybe knife edge the intake bridge(i guess thats what its called). Basically I have always been happy with the performance of my banshee so it isnt like my skills have outgrown the performance of the bike. It will still go way faster than my pussy ass will let it go over doubles and stuff......LOL But at the same time if I can get a couple extra HP out of it while im at it why not. 1. new pistons (bore and hone) maybe vitos that alter the port timing 2. ported reed cages with TDR reeds 3. advance timing 4. lighten flywheel 5. maybe a 2:1 carb if funds permit sorry for the long post, but i wanted to order the stuff soon so the project isnt sitting in my garage dormant for months. thanks again checkster
