http://www.lsracing.com/img/Guide_21.pdf here is a link to lonestar installation guide maybe it should be a sticky here for those that do not get instructions with their adjustable a arms. it will vary by different manufactures but gives a fairly good idea

measure your wheel base from side to side. That will at least let you know if the bottom portion of the frame is straight. I measured mine from the front of the rear axle to the lower ball joint mount on each side. That is whear I found my bend but at least it will let you know that part is straight and not the problem. do you have adjustable uppers and lowers or just upers not sure what you are running.
-
I couldn`t get mine to line up either turned out the frame was bent after looking closer. I hope you don`t have that problem.

I guess the 01 shock is a 1 year only shock. I bought mine from works and it said fits only the 01 raptor, but mine has a remote rezzy on it too
-
I just installed my raptor shock last night with a + 2 swinger. man is that thing tall I might go ahead and put the stock swinger back on to take some height out. I have a desert seat and tank on mine So I am guessing total rider height at the seat is about 6" higher. I will decide on that once I get my a arms and mount them to see how it feels.

yea they have +3 std travel aster camber adjustable I called them yesterday talked to roger. he said he was the owner.but he recommended the heim style ball joints instead of regular ball joints. He said the heims won`t break. He said rec riders etc can get away with ball joints but racing the heims area better choice. He seemed like a nice guy it`s always a + when the owner answers the phone himself. To me that syas he is really involved with the work they produce. I guess denton went out of business and fireball took over their design. I am going to place an order for the a arms on friday and give them a try

Thanks for the reply I take it they aren`t very popular for whatever reason. They look like they are built good so does some of their other products.

the yellow pages has a bunch of companies listed look under plating. your gonna have to call around to see who fits your needs. also look under metal finishers some listings there as well. you might also check with a few of the local off road shops to see who they use.
-
check with some local small engine or lawn more shops they usually have tygon hose there that you could use.

anybody use their a arms good bad ugly? I am looking for some new +3 that are caster camber adjustable.
-
I think ricky stator sells ball joints that might fit those. I have them on my rappy and haven`t had any problems with them yet. I have a different brand on my shee I really like but the ball joints are expensive to replace. I was thinking of buying the asr`s because they are cheaper than the ball joints, now I am not sure what I will do. I run +3 on mine and they are one of the few brands that are adjustable. I guess I better check mine out on the rappy. Well I guess in some ways you wasted money but in other ways you saved money by not having to replace the bike after being stolen. But I would be pissed to especially if it happened to me.

negative effects of unbalanced crank
desertdeweller replied to bansheejoel's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
lots of things actually. start with vibration you will feel more of it in your hands through the bars and will cause some fatigue. If it is bad enough it could litteraly vibrate the bolts out of the engine. A fiend had his trued and welded but didn`t have it balanced. you could watch the bolts come loose in the case covers. so he ended up doing twice as much work pulling it apart a second time for ballancing. besides out of balance is harder on the bearings and will also make it loose some power because of that. -
considering your weight and the weight of the motor you maybe better off going with aftermarket shocks. That way you can have them built according to the your weight. yfz shocks are longer than the banshees which will help some but the spring rate and valving won`t be much better. How much does your bike sag from full extension to with you sitting on it. unfortunately there is not a whole lot you can do for the banshee to get a lot of height. I don`t know if going to some +3 a arms would help you in the height department any. maybe some taller tires could help you out also. I am going to put a raptor rear shock on mine that someone else suggested to do on here. it is about an inch longer I am also putting a little longer swinger on that will raise the back some. but all in all I think new shocks up front a rebuilt or new rear all with spring rates and valving set for your needs and maybe tires are about it.

Best soundin pipes which ones?
desertdeweller replied to 907banshee's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
thats like asking which is better ford or chevy and of course its dodge j/k. you will get 30 different answers from 30 different people on that one get what you like. more important is you get what you need for your ridding style.. -
Anybody ever find a good an effective way to decarbon head pipes. my t-5s have been in service for about 8 years now. I think they could use a good internal clean, since I have the shee disassembled now would be the time for me to do it any suggestions

asr I guess they are kind of hit and miss with them from what I am reading. I have a set on my rappy 700 and they have been very good pc is holding up and don`t squeek at all.

do you have the choke tube in between the carbs installed properly that would cause that.

BANHEE FRAME BUILD UP WHAT YEAR?
desertdeweller replied to J DUBB's topic in General Banshee Discussion
What type a build are you looking to do? I bought a new frame through yamaha for 550.00 it doesn`t come with vin nubers though. so if your state requires them you have to take it to mvd to get new ones, which isn`t hard to get done in az. all but the earlier coincide the early ones had the j arms vesus the a arms. I am currently rebuilding mine now. I couldn`t see spending 250 and up for a used frame that could be bent or twisted or even stolen. so I decided on a new one. but I guess it would depend on what type of build you want drag, stock type etc. -
I don`t know what type or brand of shock you are looking for but works had rear one listed on ebay for a sundahl frame. I think the store name is works outlet it should be in there if your interested

to heli coil or not that is the question
desertdeweller replied to desertdeweller's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I have done them before just not on a cylinder I was just wondering if it would hold up to the cooling system and cylinder pressures. was also worried that the tap might distort the top of the cylinder enough that it wouldn`t let it seal right -
went to torque down the cool head I had just purchased and felt one of the studs pull. Its the long stud in the front so do you think a helicoil would hold or is it not worth trying.
-
I have just ordered a shock for mine today to give it a shot. It`s a works shock for the 01 raptor dual rate compression and rebound adjustable measures out at 14.38" I plan on trying the stock swing arm with it also.

STOLEN BANSHEE (Phoenix, Az)
desertdeweller replied to sykoman's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
people are asses that isn`t to far away from me I will keep my eyes peeled. My neihbor leaves his bikes out all the time and they don`t get swapped. If I left mine out for 2 seconds it would be gone, I guess some people have better luck. -
have her holding a cylinder in each hand too another fraze could be. the power feels so good.
