  1. there is actually a different torque spec for each one the inside one cant be to tight could cause problems, the outter one is going to be tighter to hlod them both in place. Do you have a service manual?
  2. you can buy a wrench that a torque wrench will fit onto and you torque it to spec, i made one with 2 1/4 pieces of steel, welded them together, cut it so it would fit the lock nut (with bandsaw) and then welded 1/2 inch drive socket to it so i could use a torque wrench on it rockymountainatv.com sell them make sure you get it tight because bad things can happen if they come loose hope this helps
  3. ya you need to put new bearings in, all you have to do is get the old ones out with a hammer and a drift/punch, and to put the new ones in you take the new bearings, put them in the freezer and heat the carrier up (on the grill or oven or torch) and use a 2x4 and a hammer to put the bearings back in, make sure you put it in straight, you will have to let it cool down before you put the new seals in so they dont melt, and the seals should be flush with the outside of the carrier, i usually put grease inside the seal to help keep water out so the bearings last longer, and ya you can put the stock axle back in, this is any easy job to do
  4. rockymountainatv.com has them for $10.00 they work great and have good bearings in them
  5. these a arms come with tie rods and you put your tie rod ends in them from the stock tie rods, i had the yfz450 shocks and they didnt fit the fullflight a arms to well, but you could use your stock shocks for awhile and when you get more money you could buy some works or elkas
  6. if you spend 450 you could get triple rate elka shocks with no rezzi's but you should get shocks either way
  7. ya thats what i was looking at thanks for the suggestions
  8. magicracing.com funkmotorsports.com both have replacement ring sets
  9. check the reeds, its a lot cheaper fix than a new stator, and coils dont fail very often
  10. i just heard a pop and i shut it off i knew i was a reed, i have it pulled apart it broke on pedal, mods trinity pro mx port and polish cylinders decked head wiseco prolites .030'' over toomey t-5 pipes k&n pod filters +4 timing i ride trails and a little mx but would still like to have a few drags every once in a while
  11. well i finally get to ride my banshee today after 6 months and everything is going good, and a am riding back out to the truck and my stupid reeds broke on the right cylinder, so i am wanting to know what kind of replacement reeds i should go with, i have stock cages and would like to stick with them. Any suggestions???
  12. is the amp link in good shape? and does it come with hardware?
  13. well the wicked a arms are good, you can find them on ebay, ebay has the fullflights, asr, they are all good , i have the fullflight on mine i just got them and they are sweet if you get those make sure you get chromoly joints with them, they are alot stronger, and for shocks i would go with works, or elka if you got the money, if not you can buy a used set on ebay, or you can get yfz450 shocks, i just sold a pair, they sell for about $175-$220 they are really good for the price o ya i love my nerfs
  14. the a arms and shocks depend on what kinda riding you do? trails, dune,mx,hill climb?
  15. i would go with the 05, it will be alot more dependable, and if you buld your own you know it will be done the right way, plus you will learn alot more building your own than buying one that is already built and beat
  16. you can get the stock crossover from yamaha for $14 or on ebay or maybe someone on here has one, just have to ask, and for the filters if you want to stick with pod filters most guys go with k&n filters with outerwears, they work damn good, but they are not cheap, but nothing is cheap for a banshee!
  17. well you should get new crank bearings and check everything for cracks, breaks and wear, pry wouldnt hurt to put all new seals and bearing in the bottom end with it being that old, and for gaskets i like cometic i have never had a problem with them
  18. ya all you need is a feeler gauge should be around .020'' between the pickup coil and the two tabs that set on the side of the flywheel
  19. rockymountainatv.com and for the jetting, that depends on your elevation
