  1. Check your needle bearing while your at it. That is more likely the problem.
  2. New banners are bad ass. Very nice job.
  3. Yep have the same problem. Love the pipes, HATE the fit.
  4. These have been out for a awhile. Seen an ad in Dirt Wheels for them and its been a long time since I have picked one of those up.
  5. I agree, very good grips. Will buy for now on.
  6. I think PAbansheematt has a photo of one of his buddies also but this is one of the only ones ive seen. I have always wanted one. It would look good with my theme.
  7. That makes no matter, once you remove the 6 bolts it should fall right off. You welded the ball didnt you? Is your clutch adjuster hanging up on the outside and conneted to the ball and pushrod? Just a thought, but yeah, it should just fall right off.
  8. Yep need some more specific info. What does the noise sound like? Fell?? No more running till you tear some of it down. Start with the head and look at your pistons to check you rings. From there I would make sure one of your crank bearings didnt fail. But what ever you do, NO more running. When I first built mine, on the first ride, I blew a crank bearing and it screwed my rings up on one side. Luckly I shut it down as soon as it happened. Put a new piston and crank and have been running it for over two years now (on that same bore). If I would have run it anymore I probably would not have been so fortunate.
  9. If it is coming from the clutch cover but your clutch is still working I would suspect your lock washer for the clutch basket has let loose and the nut may be starting to work off. It will work off completely eventually and you will loose your clutch. You will just need to pull the cover and pressure plate and take a peek. Thats the only way to trouble shoot from there. Like I said before I had some strange noises from the same area but once the new oil got moved around and lubed everything back up it went away. MY problem was the shaft the clutch assembly goes on went dry and was making a squealing, rubbing sound, similar to a shitty cassette tape. They may not be your problem but the only way to tell is to take a closer look inside. I have had just about everything happen to my bike from time to time so I can help you get this figured out.
  10. ok then, get right down on the cylinder and give it a quick rev. If the sound rises and falls, I would suspect some play in the crank area. May be a bearing going out.
  11. You put new oil in right? You say you hear it while its not running. So you are pushing it then? In neutral, or clutch pulled in? I just had a problem with my oil leaking out the neutral switch cover. It was making all sorts of noises just under the clutch basket. I thought I really messed shit up but it turned out it just needed oil to lube stuff back up. If you had piston slap I would think you would hear it while running.
  12. well thats not a good way to join a forum. Banshee or not, I suspect you will be getting alot more of this in the future.
  13. I just fixed that earlier in the day actually. No, its comming from in the motor. Motor is not running when I am doing this. I am rotating the shaft by hand. Like I said I think it is the "free" gears in there. The ones that are not notched onto the shaft. Thanks for the sugestion though. That thing was driving me nuts.
  14. So I was thinking the jingle I was getting was while the bike is in neutral. So I went out and shifted throught the gears and turned the shaft and didnt notice any skip in the gears or roughness from gear to gear. I think I may be in the clear. I think the squealing was from the clutch assembly running dry and the jingle was the "free" gears while in neutral. I also think new oil should be the fix. At the same time I think I should at least open it up and take a peek inside. I just hope I dont need a new tranny. After the last batch of parts I dont know if I can afford a new one. Plus my buddy who was assisting me droped my cluth basket and broke an ear off it so I will be looking to get another quick.
  15. Its the white plate below your front sprocket. Also referred to as shift drum plate. Case savers bolt ontop of them. Mine seems to be cracked and/or the o-ring is not sealing. Boss makes a billet one that I may end up buying if a new ring wont fix it.
  16. Yeah thats kinda what I figured but I was wondering if anyone may have run into this before.
  17. I was out on a long rip today and something has gone bad in my transmission. My nuetral switch cover was letting oil leak. It leaked all but about half a quart out. The bike started making a squealing noise and was jerking bad so I pulled it over and got a ride home. I tore the basket off and checked fibers. They are fine. So then I turned the shaft for the front set of gears and there is a jingling noise coming from in there. I have not split the cases yet but will tomorrow. Has anyone run into this and what shoud I suspect to find? The shaft spins free so I dont think its the bearing but also not sure what else would be making that jingle noise.
  18. GO PENS!! :ninja:
  19. dirt tires have seams up the middle, use your rims.
  20. You are gonna have to wait to get one. Rocky Mountain is the main distributer. They should have them in a few weeks. I was in the same boat as you but I couldnt wait so I bought a Lonestar.
  21. If your talking about getting the wheels lined up, get one side straight. Then adjust the other side and measure from the seam in the tires in the front and in the back untill they are equal.
  22. A few of my favorites: H-Bomb Duncan AC Blackline Front and rear package
  23. The Mighty Bar is nice but the ones on ebay are like 170 bucks. Someone82 bumper is a Pro Armor I belive. What kind are you looking for? How much do you want to spend? I really like the AC Blackline series bumper. One of the few that isnt V shaped. Has a mud screen and a incorporated skid plate. You can get them in alum. or black finish. That would be my pic for a trail bike. Now if I am not planing on pushing trees and shit I would consider the Mighty Bar.
  24. Pull the motor and split the cases upside down. Then you will not have to remove your top end. It is really simple and you wont have to worry about messing anything else up. I had to do it when I welded the ball to the pushrod and it was very simple. Also invest in a pancake bearing for your pressure plate and you wont have it happen again. So you will need a new ball, actuator, and should get a pancake bearing. Clean up your pushrod but be sure to just remove enough to get the welded metal off. With the bearing its gonna cost you about 70-80 bucks.
