Yeah they really should, it may be 20 year old technology, but it still kicks the crap out of the new "high perf." quads

I have a friend that builds cars/dragsters as a hobby and is an amazing fabricator... I know its a little different but after helping him some it really would not be that hard. Just take measurements, and cut your swinger right in the middle. After that cut exactly how much you want to extend it out of another swinger or even use some tube steal from a metal shop, the line it all up measure everything again an weld it in. The grind the welds down and polish or powder coat it all up! Im going to do it to mine after the holidays  If you want to make it smaller just make your measurements and cut it in the middle, then measure how much you want to take out and cut it off, make sure you have exact measurements though.

Just to let you all know there is a pretty nice set-up banshee in the January 09 issue of ATV Rider... The only problem is its by Duncan racing... Not a big fan, but it is pretty nice and its in a Dunefest 08 story that the mag. is doing

Help, Im a little stumped, My just rebuilt bikes not running right
278 replied to bode1's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
you should be able to run pump gas on 160 psi, but that is close to that line so I would try a higher octane just to see if that helps, if its not that I would check the ignition system -
I put on my list powder coating and new plastics haha

I have been with 05.banshee.SE to help him out, because I did mine just to play around and start somewhere eventually I want to get into doing jugs and stuff, but that will come and take many years of practice. As far as doing cages it's pretty simple and nothing like doing jugs. Basically you want to just take material out right to the edge of the petals around each port. The top of the ports though you can turn into a square shape, they are rounded so make them square and bring them up to about 1cm. below the screw holes. This is how I have seen it done and basically just copied it. It came out good but you have to be careful, take your time, and watch everything. If you dont you can mess it up, it will take practice though so if you do your cages and they dont come out prefect its ok they will still work fine, throw them on and if you want later on down the road get another set of stock cages and do it again. Or you can buy a few sets practice on all and select the best 2 cages

Yeah I'd stick with the 28's, cuz you don't have to buy anything, and there really wont be much difference

Hey man, I dont really understand what your asking, but I think your asking if there is metal under the rubber? No there is no different cages between years. There is just metal under the rubber and the guy probably sanded the rubber off

The 2 into 1 set up will feed it go with like a 35 mm carb or bigger, probably bigger but yeah it will. As far as the silencer, anything will fit... sometimes it takes a little modfiying and creativity

Big Red... Thats exactly who I meant in my post when I said there are a few people that do great work and are just trying to start a business, I wish I had sent my port work to him... lesson learned, thanks for the crank brandon . As brandon said many people do just ride one builders stuff and think its the best. I have had 2 builders contribute to some part of my build (not including my own work) and have talked to 4 and I personally like Brandon at Wildcard Racing the best (slobanshee06)

DMC 916 Pipes & Silencer---Chrome---Look
278 replied to banshee2007's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Hey bro your axle looks like its rusting!? If I were you I would take it off and clean it up. As far as the pipes theyre not made anymore and probably worth between 200-350, depending on what people are willing to pay. If jugriggs will give you that much take it cuz thats probably the best youll see unless someone is dumb enough to go higher or wants them to put in a museum haha -
yeah he got a good deal it was just a little under where it should be probably though. You all are gonna hate me when I tell you I got my '00 that only needed a good power washing and a carb cleaning for 500 (divorce, husband left it sitting at the house for a few years, i offered to get it out of the yard for 500, it was almost free, but I felt bad)

Go to ebay and look for works or elka's that are set for your weight class

There are a few smaller guys that are reputable, but are just getting there business off the ground and acutally do really good work. But I totally agree with you loco, as I learned the hard way. When I first came on here I did the same thing (asking whos the cheapest) and decided to have a local shop do it to avoid paying for shipping. They do really good work and have won multiple racesand done banshees before, but I dont really like the way they do business, therefor I was not very happy with my decision. He did do a pretty good job, as far as I know they came out great and the guy knew exactly what I wanted done to them, but if I could do it over I would have just sent them out. Hopefully some of these guys your talking about will read this before they go make a dumb mistake.

As Kawiking said if your really questioning then call your builder, however as snop said your bike is set up for trail/mx so the highest I would go is 30 OKO's unless your planing on switching to a 4mil soon. Yeah your going out in the dunes, and there you need top end, but your bike is set up for low end and making more low end is better than losing power... which is what will happen if your over carbed. Alot of people dont realize that just bolting on the biggest badest thing you can doesnt always mean more power, and it may surprise you to see what will and wont increase power. The local kawi shop here has a dyno and they spend alot of time just bolting different stuff on there bikes and quads, they found that about half of the parts that most people run to make more power made very little or lost power. Of course this is kawi's not yamahas but id be willing to bet you'd get pretty simular results with alot of the stuff people use.

Here call Brandon at Wildcard Racing 435-660-1979, he's been my mentor. Your suppose to run it through the break in heat cycles first before you do it. Here's the process. Assemble and install find out a ball park jetting and run it a little rich just in case, start it up variate the throttle, but dont rev it high or let it idle, until its at opperating temp, it should take about 6-7 minutes or more depending on temp your doing it in, then shut it off and let it cool backj down to normal room/outside temp(wherever you are). Do this 4 times then re-torque all your bolts. Then do a leak down and compression test

what is a good aftermarket shock to replace stock fronts
278 replied to jbones's topic in Suspension
Like bansheesickness already said, everyone is different. I would say the 2 main ones that people like on here are Elka's and Works, I would just research both and call up both and see what the recommend for your riding style and how much it will cost -
They both look great, the Thor is stealthy and the other looks really nice with the graphics, I havn't heard anything about the other brand, but Thor makes great products as far as I know no ones had any complaints about them. I think you would be really happy with either... flip a coin

Has been for 23 years and will continue until the last banshee is melted down for scrap metal

AKheathen, idk where you got your info. but Im at the races every weekend almost, and like 90% of them run Amsoil synthetic. Castor 927 says that it may seperate at temps lower than 35 degrees if you run race gas with a density of like .795 or higher i think it is, and they have a low temp treatment you can pour in your tank. Remember be careful when you change oils because certain oils may not be as thick which will cause burn down

I know this is a banshee site, I dont really like 4 pokes either but you know this is kinda sad if I had the cash Id buy this just to re-sell itRaptor for sale
-
Haha a friend sent that to me as work safe porn

How does a fully built shee compare to fully built yfz450
278 replied to pepehaha's topic in General Banshee Discussion
This question comes up alot. I asked the same question when I first got on here, but it really just matters what you have and what the YFZ has, and riding experience, without upgrading the suspension the shee will most likely win except on an MX track, but once you upgrade the suspension you wont have a problem -
Idk what you consider cheap but shipping anything of this size will cost a pretty penny
-
Yeah Idk what MX tracks he's riding but Im goona have to call BS
