    TORS

No ive actually had 3 about mods i should do, one about air to fuel mixture, and this one
  2. So my banshee is apart right now to do a bunch of mods. I actually have never ran it, i just bought it and pulled it apart. I mixed up some 32:1 fuel mixture but that sounds a little low to me. What should the ratio be... i should have between 120-135 on compression when im done maybe a little higher
  3. Ok so i know that eliminating the TORS makes it look alot cleaner, but what else does it do? And what are they in the first place and why are they there, I know this is kinda a stupid question but im new to the Banshee world and Ive never dealt with these on bikes or sleds
  4. I've been getting great info from everyone and its helping me alot since this is my first banshee, but i need to know will head milling raise my compression, and besides rechambering it do i have to do anything
  5. well yeah i plan on doing a full gasket change and new rings but basically imma have like $dollars this week and i want to know the best place to put it, i want to eventually maybe do some porting but i wanna get higher compression like buying new heads but i wanted to keep it looking stock so i was tryin to see if i could mill the stock heads and get like high compression pistons or if i should just put the motor back in and just start with heads and pipes and simple bolt-ons. I really wanna get it put back together and ride so if milling the head and i can get high comp pistons then i will wait a week and send it to duncan racing and gettin it milled and ported and get pistons but if i cant get pistons and mill the head im just gonna port it and order heads later on
  6. so what should i have them milled too? and will that raise my compression. Its already low and i have to put my hand over the air box cover to start it so i need to raise the compression, but i also was wondering if i should have it morted while the engine is out
  7. ok so I put up a question about what mods should i do first and those are great suggestions and i noted them, however i want i little more power than bolt -ons, and my engine is out of my bnashee rite now cuz i was getting the chassis painted black, I need to get higher compression but i want to keep the stock look on the heads so can i have them milled and buy higher compression pistons or do i either buy longer rods or buy a new head with smaller domes. My other question is since i want a little more power since it already out should i have it ported or should i just save that for later, im on a budget so if i have to do a bunch of stuff when i port it i dont want that but can i port it then just raise the compression with the heads and be ok until i can afford bigger carbs and pipes? Thanks for all your help everyone!
  8. So my first thing to invest in is heads with 20cc domes and an adjustable timing plate with about +4 timing
  9. I want toomey t5's, cool heads, a =4 timing plate, k&n pod filters and bigger carbs. some porting done. Where do you guys suggest i go, i was thinking duncan racing for the porting, wicked atv for the t5's and dennis kirk for the k&n pods, carbs, and cool heads
  10. I want to be able to do alot of trail riding with an occassional race and be able to kill my buddies stock Raptor 450
  11. And what carbs should i run
  12. ok so where can i get what you suggested. Im gonna raise the compression with some cool domes and i can get the toomey's but where should i go for the timing plate
  13. Once again thanx haha, this is my first banshee so yeah. What pipes and where can i get everything you said except tires i already have aftermarket tires. Thats like the only thing aftermarket besides the frame being painted black and moose racing bars
  14. I am on a limited budget, so what kind of tuning can i do to my stock banshee so help make more power, and what is the first top 5 mods i should do when i have some money?
  15. ok thanx. is there any way i can tune my stock banshee to get more power with out having to buy anything right now, cuz im on a limited budget. and once i have some money whats the top 5 mods i should do?
  16. I have the stock tube on there i just didnt know if i should get a boost bottle or not
  17. I have heard some people talkin about running the stock boost tube instead of a boost bottle have you found more power with the stock tube and is that only with stock to midly modded engines or is that with everything
  18. This sounds like it could be the prblem with low compression so ill try this and if not it could be a fuel problem like BenBB said thanks for the help
  19. ok thanks. yeah i thinks its just a fuel problem or just low compression so ill try a few things once i get the motor put back in it
  20. I agree with the makin some money. He probably put alot of time into it and i would be willing to pay 20 bucks to get a visual guide since i am doing a strip down and rebuild also
  21. I just bought a banshee from the early 90's, i have stripped it completely down so i can do some body and chassis work. this banshee has been sitting for about 5 or 6 years. Before that it was having some trouble staying running. When i first got it i tried to start it and was un successful. It has spark and i changed all the fluid, but it didnt work. I think it may be a carb issue and not getting fuel. Another option is i noticed that the transmission wont shift i believe it just has to do with the lever but it wont go into gear. when you move the shifter it shifts but the transmission doesnt. I think this could be the problem too the switch to tell it not to start when not in neutral or with out holding the clutch is stuck. This is my first banshee and i wont to get an idea of what im dealing with before i tear the motor and tranny apart. can anyone help me?
