  2. i would definalty recommend the Pro-design impeller, i have this fitted and its great. The modquad impellers have been trouble in the past, i suppose this has been sorted now but if you buy the best first time round then it wont let you down! Mike
  3. Hi Mark, sorry it has been so long for me to reply, unless you have already sorted your problem, i think i might have a solution, if you give me the measurement from the top of the cylinder to the bottom of the exhaust port and also the overall height of the piston at the edge. you can email me on [email protected] for a quicker responce!
  4. Still looking for any T-Rex kits or parts, used or new, let me know Cheers [email protected]
  5. Hi guys, i know my T-REX wont make quite as much power as the modern cylinders but where do you guys think i should be from my set-up (38mm carbs, CPI banshee 6's, stock ignition, 12.1:1 compression ratio, fully race ported, power peak at 9500rpm) any horsepower figures or dyno graphs from similar T-Rex motors would be very much helpful. Any advice or numbers to aim for please!
  6. Its a bit cold at the moment for us, about 5 Celcius. But then we always have rubbish weather over here!! What sort of rear wheel horsepower does your 543 have, i am trying to get mine dialed in at the moment and need some benchmarks.
  7. Hi all, please can you help me on air filter size, i am running a 16mm 600 T Rex with CPI Banshee 6's and 38mm carbs, with length air filters do you think i should be using so i dont restrict the power?
  8. Yeah 182 degrees is well low for the exhaust port, we dont go as high as the drag racers do but i would recommend 198 duration for your engine size and application. also i wouls take the transfers to 126 degrees, maybe more, but not over 130 degrees. The big thing we find with these motors is getting them to run cooler, i hope you have a high capacity rad and high flow impeller for a start, but we also run an extra rad on the 16mm and some in-line coolers. we run the squish at 1.1mm clearance. As for bore clearance, you sound a little tight, we run about 6.5 thou to be safe, there is just no point being too tight with the Trex. How is it nipping, aroung the top or bottom of piston, exhaust side or all round? Also what is the outlet size of your stinger pipe. Sorry for the slow responce but i do not log on all the time, you just gotta be patient!! Any Q's please ask.
  9. I think that the piston should just come flush with the bottom of the exhaust port (doesnt really matter though) but surely the transfers cause this will interfere with flow. We run a 4mm and 16mm T Rex for flat track racing and are very pleased with the set-up once you get it dialed in. These issues should not be causing reliabilty issues though. What problems are you haveing, we might be able to help. Maybe you could put a thicker base spacer in and machine off the top of the cylinder. but remember this will raise the exhaust port duration!
  10. Hi all, i am looking for used T-Rex top end kits or spare T Rex parts. All sizes and conditions considered. Cheers
  11. I have been running a yamaha YPVS 4mm conversion for two years now and it is a great set up for sure, most of the bottom end is the same as banshee and so the crank slots right in, make sure you shim the barrels up correct to get your squish clearance correct and you will have a reliable and fast pwrvalve motor. I run a 2mm base spacer with stock head machining. what do you mean by indexing the powervalves? personally i have never played with the standard settings.
  12. Hi guys, i am from england and the best tires for asphalt over here are Goldspeed's, do you have these tires, if so you gotta try them, i tried all sorts of tires and these were the best, hope this helps
  13. please any help or suggestions or even just some chat about the t rex 420 cylinders?!! please
  14. Hi there, I race supermoto over in england and i have just gone to a T-Rex 420 set up from TDR in the US. We have big national championships over here. How big is supermoto in the US? I think its the most exciting form of quad racing as you get the variation from tarmac to dirt to loose to jumps all in the same circuit!! I race motocross also on a Honda 500cc special but it isnt the same without reaching a 100mph down the straights on a supermoto course! Just wanted to hear from you guys and how you set up your banshees for supermoto?
