Ok so theres alot of interesting magazines out there, but you know I have never seen a custom magazine like talking about people doing custom quad projects and stuff like on the HQ here, I think it would be really cool to see something like that and to publish like alot of the really cool builds and ideas guys have what do you guys think
-
I agree, I was used to riding bikes too, but this last summer I saw a deal on a banshee i couldnt pass up. I love it! They are a unique quad and can be used for anything. You wont be disappointed when your old lady's family is wondering why the only view they ever see is the back of your shee. I'd say do it for sure especially if you a 2-stroke guy.

Ok so whats the trick to getting the flywheel nut off i know i need a puller to get the flywheel off but whats the trick to getting the nut off.
-
Decided to throw in a crank true and weld with my other mods. Wnated to know the easiest way to split the cases. I know I have to take everything off and i need a flywheel puller, but i have read that most of the time they are kinda hard to split so whats the best way to get them apart with out damaging anything
-
yeah i definantly plan on it. thanks guys
-
that make sense, just wanted to know how far i could go with out it. I actually over looked it until i started ordering parts and put my cylinders in the shop and realized i think i should get that done.
-
How much can I mod my shee before i get the crank welded, I am planning on running an agressive trail port, Pro-design coolhead, Toomey T-5's, ported reed cages, carbon reeds, wiseco pro-lites, +4 timing and possibly some pwk 33's with pods, is that pushing the limits on the stock crank with out doing a true and weld?
-
yeah he will now so now you get some Toomey T-5's, some UNI pods filters and re-jet your carbs
-
ok I was just wondering why in the heck anyone would chose a key over plate beings the reasons i listed it doesnt make sense so i didnt know if i was missing something but that answers my question
-
So i was looking at advancing my timing, and I was just kind of wondering the differencer between replacing the key and replacing the timing plate. For 20 dollars more you get the timing plate which is stronger more reliable and with both you have to pull the flywheel so is there and advantages to using a key?

Hey bro I had the same problem with mine when it was stock and the guys on here helped me out. There are these things called TORS (throttle override switch) on top of the carbs. Your suppose to be able to adjust those to get it to idle but I found out that doesnt work from experience. Basically you have to buy the $50-65 TORS eliminator kit which basically just gets rid of those and connects the throttle cable straight to the carb. call Jeff at F.A.S.T. and he can help you out here's a link to his website FAST

From Stock, to Sick: My Banshee Journey
278 replied to 05.Banshee.SE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yeah you ever heard the song "i can ride my bike with no handle bars" well same thing just "i can ride my shee with no handlebars" haha -
That would be one hell of a ride to drive to work if you threw some lights and a license plate on it
-
well nothin yet just the frame painted black but its apart in my shop and im doing it step by step, the list of mods that will be on it is- Aggressive trail port, NOSS head with 20cc domes, Wiseco pro-lites, +4 timing, Toomey T-5's with some custom silencers, open air box (cuz I ride alot of muddy trails), TORS removed, new clutch, and a bunch of suspension and bling goodies, but thanks guys that answered my question
-
I dont want to steal the post or anything, but I would like to just better understand what theyre are doing with porting so can I maybe get a list of good books or videos and somewhere to buy them besides ebay, thanks guys.

Ok guys, so I have an on going shee project that is still in its early stages, however it has come time to do the engine machine work. I am trying to build a bad-@$$ trail ride that I can also tackle some big hills and occasionally take down a few YFZ's I already ordered pistons so myquestion is 1) is going with a 4 mil. and having the extra expense of bigger carbs, worth the money, 2) if so can I use my standard bore wiseco pro-lites on the 4 mil. or will i have to get new pistons

Ok so I need the help of some people that have built custom pipes and silencers for there shee... I have and idea for an exhaust system. I dont really want to run silencers maybe just a removable tip with a spark arrestor screen, my question is... I was looking at running some toomey T-5's but can I get just the pipes then make my own silencer type set up because I wanted to do somethin I havn't really seen before and do a 2 into 1 setup on the exhaust, so theres a single outlet the comes out under the rear grab bar, I think it would be sick if i can do it. I know its possible I just want to know if that will really affect the performance of the pipe like will i lose performance by doing this?

Im am trying to build a great all around bike too. and the best thing ive found to do is do it yourself, but if you dont have the shop or the tools, then do what you can and have a reputable builder do the rest. In my case I have a shop, but not all the tools. so im having it ported by a local shop then ordering everything else and installing it, and the price is over a 1000 less than buying a kit and its more personalized for exactly what i want to do, but as the other guy said contact kevin herr or even jeff at FAST racing ive heard nothing but excellent reviews from both
-
yeah i am getting new petals too what do suggest for petals... I think Im gonna go with Boyesen super stock petals
-
So i decided to port my stock reeds to compliment the other mods im doing, I just wanted to know how much this helps with power or throttle response
-
yeah bro I'd definantly ride mine, and im in alaska so in the winter which is only like 8 months id just where some warm clothes, that would be bad @$$! up here though as far as I know all we have to do is have a head and tail light, blinkers, and license plate and just register it as a motorcycle i was actually thinking about doing it!
-
Hey bro my name is Mike I'm here in Anchorage, I've been lookin for other people from Alaska and your the first. I actually am building a Trail/MX bike also. I'm finding some sled shocks off graiglist for suspension upgrades, for the engine I'm going with Toomey T-5 pipes, Noss head with 20CC domes, trail porting from Anchorage Drag Bike, took the airbox lid off, and Wiseco pro-lite pistons, of course I have to re-jet, but maybe that will give you an idea... email me at [email protected] and I can help you out and give you some more advice
-
Yeah I have all winter, I dont actually race, but most the guys at the track I see on the trails so it'll mostly be trails. I am planning on doing suspension mods, but I am not going to buy all the parts I love fabricating stuff and it's cheaper so I am doing suspension mods, but how do you guys think I should set it up Im using stock length swinger upgraded shocks and what should I do with the a-arms and rest of the suspension and handling?
-
Okay so I'm buliding a shee to spank the 450's at the track. However Im on a budget so its a winter project, im doing some cosmetic work, but as far as performanse I'm going with an aggressive trial port from a local shop, Wiseco pro-lites, 20cc dome NOSS head, +4 Timing, T-5's, I'm modifying the airbox, clutch kit, and a few other cheap home built mods such as putting it on a diet. Just wanted to make sure this will spank most 450's out there and maybe get a couple more ideas on extra power without tearing the motor apart so what do you guys think?
