Will the plug chop procedure be the same for a four stroke as for a 2 stroke

When I moved to Canada I spent 4 years in Toronto. Crappy place. I now live in Vancouver and love it. literally thousand of kilometers of trails to ride in the mountains. I had some plans for a few mods this winter, but with the current economic bullshit it is on hold. Probably just a new top end to keep her running good.

Its a 2 stroke, you are always burning oil. If you are leaking gear oil it will burn really thick white and you wont be able to see anything behind you. Burning coolant will make a bit of white smoke and smell kind of sweet.

Gas only goes bad when it starts to smell like lacquer thinner and that takes 6 months or more. Just add some fuel stabilizer if you are worried about storing it. Way cheaper than tossing gas out, and wont do anything to your carbs or motor.

Carbon tetrachloride will dissolve the carbon. Not sure if you can still buy it though.

Don,t think so. The slides are the same gold color all over, even in the groove and top and bottom

My slides were partially black when I bought my 03 banshee used. It was just old oil and dirt and washed off with a bit of gas. She ran much better after cleaning cause the slides moved freely with no sticking

Jets r us online. About 14 US$ each. I ordered them in Vancouver and they arrived in less than a week.

:down: What are you doing following a 4 stroke

A boost bottle or crossover tube are there to catch the small amount of blow-by passed the reeds and preventing it going through the carb the wrong way. A boost bottle has more volume than the crossover tube and therefore supposedly better. The reason they do nothing but destroy your intakes is that any air-fuel mix that gets in there is sucked out immediately by the other cylinder, so the bigger size makes no difference to performance. Boost bottles work on a singe cylinder, but will only get in the way and give you grief on a banshee. :cool:

I would not worry about the oil at all. What do you think all the 2 stroke street bikes use. They fill up with whatever is available at the gas station. At least that is what me and all my buddies used to do when I still had an RZ. Your carb's are quiet big for a motor with just porting, but that's just my opinion. :biggrin:
