  1. my bad guys, I had that backwards. I swithched to a thirteen tooth prior to the porting. now I'm back to a fourteen (stock). Sorry.
  2. Prior to having my bike ported I always had a hard time holding 6th gear in the sand ( always bogged down). Switched to a 14 tooth and helped out alot, I think you'll like it.
  3. I run the t-5's and can say it's a great pipe, however i am hearing so many good things about the r-2's that i am considering giving them a shot myself. I have never heard anything nice about the fmf's.

    dog story

A guy is driving around the back woods of Montana and he sees a sign in front of a broken down shanty-style house: "Talking Dog For Sale " He rings the bell and the owner appears and tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a nice looking Labrador retriever sitting there. "You talk?"he asks. "Yep," the Lab replies. After the guy recovers from the shock of hearing a dog talk, he says "So, what's your story?" The Lab looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA. In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping." "I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running. But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals." "I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired." The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog. "Ten dollars," the guy says. "Ten dollars? This dog is amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?" "Because he's a liar.. He never did any of that shit."
  5. The Pope and Nancy Pelosi are on the same stage in Yankee Stadium infront of a huge crowd. The Pope leaned toward her and said, "Do you know that with one little waveof my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display, but will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!" Pelosi replied, "I seriously doubt that. With one little wave of your hand? Show me!" So the Pope backhanded the bitch.
  6. what do your plugs look like when it happens, are they wet? This will sound crazy, but we had a bike with the same simptoms. We ripped that bike appart for two days only to find out it was a blocked breather on the gas cap. When it was running it would build up negitive pressure in the tank eventually not even allowing the fuel to run.
  7. So are they more designed for a heavy built motor or will they work well on the average mods i.e. mild port, reeds k&n, stock carbs? Also, are they a big improvement over T-5"s with the same above mentioned mods?
  8. If they media blast it instead of using sand it shouldn't get into the metal as much.
  9. It was plenty strong. You will depending on your weight need to adjust the compression on your shock.
  10. I've done it several times. Not hard, just use some 1/4"x4" flat plate to extend it then gusset the top and bottom. Make sure you cut behind the shock mount. Sorry i don't have any pics of one. hope this helps.
  11. Ya, any time between late Oct. and March is good. I personally hate the large crowds and the dunes are much nicer on the off holiday weekends. Jan. should be about as good as any time for Glamis.
  12. unless you hate crowds, you should try for pres. day in Feb. much more action to see.

  14. I'm a big fan of cascades stuff. great quality, fair price and they do the installation. http://67.199.65.66/cascade_innovations/newlook/Auto_photo.cfm?catid=44
  15. swap your shocks around and if it still pulls to the right side you'll know it's not your shocks (time to replace b.t.w.) Also check your rear axle carrier, if it's not square it will cause your bike to pull to one side.
  16. Powdercoat is by far the best way to go for durability. I'm going on three years since i did my frame with not so much as a scratch (mostly sand riding). You are correct as far as the prep goes, bad prep = bad job but that is true for most everything.
  17. How much did it shorten it by adding the roundhouse carrier without cutting the swingarm itself?
  18. I been looking at getting some gps tracking units for that very reason. There finally affordable and small enough to hide in a gear bags or on a bike. Best part is you don't need to involve the police, just track your shit and go take care of business. http://www.trackingtheworld.com/
  19. marineNYC was just giving you some advice and not talking shit (other than maybe that last statement). Also I met him in Glamis a couple years ago and can say with confidence that anything he would say on this forum he would say to your face ( one big boy). B.T.W. welcome and yes, they are very nice wheels.
  20. prior to powdercoating my frame I welded a large fender washer in the same place these other guys are talking about. Just works out to be the best place i.m.o.
  21. twist all the way. I.m.o. thumb throttles are for those guys that lack the upper body strength necessary to control a twist throttle.
  22. Hey just saw the message you left. Glad you like it. Thanks again for your business. Martin

  23. Here is a pic of it finished. I made this for someone else and never heard how it performed but I'm sure if you posted in the mx section someone will let you know how well they work. Agreed that it's not the pretiest thing, but after all it's not as if your gona send a stock swinger out for chrome anyway.
  24. You can use a pickle fork ( found @ any auto store for cheap), or one trick is to hit oposite sides of the joint at the same time with two hammers, the vibration will sometimes cause it to just drop out. Of course if you are replacing the joint and not concerned about the threads you can just knock it out with a hammer.
