Dents in the pipes obviously will effect the performance of it and make sure the mounting brackets are not cracked and/or missing. Also keep in mind that used silencers will most likely need to be re-packed.

Ok, here's a real long shot but it happened to my dad's ltr. Same simptoms did everything yours is doing and it tunred out that the gas cap vent was blocked. We spent the better part of two days ripping it appart in the dunes just to find out it was that.
