  1. No worries man...Not going to say I don't care about money but the biggest kick is seeing someone I don't know with my parts on their bike.
  2. I'm a bit late to the conversation but yes JDS customs is now producing some of my creations. I have found JD to be nothing but a strait up honest guy to do business with and am pleased with the business arrangement we have. Personally I love designing and building one off parts but can't stand producing anything more than a few times so it made sense to have JD do the production and marketing.
  3. Give me the $100,000, I'll post a video on "how to boil water" problem solved.
  4. Actually there is 1.25" between the Pods and the tank.
  5. Concept works flow wise but I want to shorten the front near the pods a bit and lengthen the back. Measured out im right at a gallon of storage capacity and really would like to get closer to 1.5-2. Wish I had more to report, just haven't had time to mess with it.
  6. I don't think you'll find anything close that's off the shelf. I would take the paint code to an automotive paint supply store and see what they can cook up.
  7. Not much to update, everything with exception of the carbs is done and installed. Work has forced this project to the back burner for a little bit. Will update as things change.

    R6 Rear Shock

I have a stock r-6 shock in brand new condition. If interested PM me.
  9. You might be surprised at what you could make with just a cheap 110v mig welder and a grinder with a 4-1/2" cut off wheel.
  10. Nice job! I think your smart to have used gussets.
  11. I'm running 35 pwk's and this is the reason for doing the extra tank. I've run out of fuel twice while coming back from the sand drags.
  12. No pictures of it set up right now. I loaned my carbs, intakes and filters out. I'll have them back shortly after Prez. Weekend. ... Speaking of which, are any of you guys going to Glamis for the weekend? I mocked the tank up based on where I had my tool box placed so I should have approx. 1.5" between the front of the tank and the air filter.
  13. As confident as I am of the set up it might be wise for me to run a few tanks through it before selling them. Also Im sure I can get the capacity up to at least two gallons.
  14. Vents through the main tank. So far there has been no change in flow rates.
  15. I must say though, under load you will have fuel rush away from they baffle. It will go to the rear of the tank and your sump is on the front...... A pump might be a good idea. Feed the OEM tank from the new aluminum one. I get what your saying but the sump I built is 3/4 enclosed at the back side of the sump. Unless you tip the bike strait up it will not surge out, even then it won't completely empty out. As for running the bike out of fuel and burning it up I agree, but it is no different than running the stock tank down to reserve, you have to know when to shut things down.
  16. The bike still has a reserve on the main tank. Also if you want to bend brass cleanly try freezing water inside the tube then it should bend clean.
  17. In running 35 mm kheinin carbs with kn pods, no issues with clearance. As for compressing the suspension, there also are no clearance issues. It doesn't occupy any more space than the stock air box.
  18. Still have the reserve on the main tank. Also if I were to put a 90 degree bend on the reserve side inlet on the petcock I could have had a reserve on the secondary tank as well, just didn't seam necessary.
  19. Here's a better shot of the sump with the tank turned over.
  20. I know it looks that way based off of the pics but it does flow down.
  21. I have been in need of some extra fuel storage and hated the idea of strapping a jug to the back of my bike or running one of those giant clark tanks and I also did not want to have to stop to fill the bike up. What I came up with will hold 1.25 gallons and is fed by the main tank and in return feeds the carbs. Sorry I do not have the carbs hooked up for the full visual but I have loaned them out. After having built this first one I believe I can build something that could hold between 2 - 2.5 gallons.
  22. Almost done building something better. Will post it up soon.
