  1. hmmm... I guess I could rent/borrow a "few" from Autozone and compare the readings? It would be nice to know if I was over 150 and needed to mix 93/race fuel... I dont want to harm the engine... I know its prolly not over 150 being a 1300+ ft, but I still refuse to believe its 12?... Thanx
  2. OK... on the elkazzz... Are the bent, broken, leaking, weaping, seeping, do they hold their psi, have you you ever checked to see if they are holding their psi, have you ever pumped regular air into them in place of the dry nitrogen? Sorry, I have to ask all these questions since I cant see them in person.
  3. I will try that, and probably buy my own compression tester... Can anyone confirm?
  4. Cha$ching... They are cool...
  5. Fine... And yes, I did edit myself because I did not want to respond out of anger. And second you being a BHQ veteran, there will be newbies that ask newb questions. No one is forcing you read and answer these posts... Either you want to help or you dont... And again, I already threw that god damn key into the lake...
  6. I have a 2006 stock motor with 10 hours or so on it. It was broken in correctly, and it has never been abused or overheated. I just installed a Cool Head with 19cc domes and my elevation is 1,347ft MSL. Note that the bike ran great, like a champ before the install. I did not get a compression check before I did the install. I know this was a bone head move, but I was like a kid at Christmas, I just couldnt wait and forgot!!! The bike has not been started in about 3-4 weeks, and I never did fire it up after I installed the head. When I took the comression reading last night after the head install I was getting 122psi for my max reading? I was expecting way more with 19cc domes... Now, I know some things can factor, such as the compression tester itself. Its my father- in-laws and its a few years old. Also the bike has not been started in a while so maybe the pistons/rings are dry??? Also I did not have the pipes installed yet either??? Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I did put the tank back on, turned on the fuel and held it WOT and kicked the piss out of it??? I got pissed off and called it a night after I saw this??? I did not do all this crap for a stock compression bike... Any thoughts???
  7. My brother runs T5's and his does not do this, so maybe its the needle or pilot jet? It sounds like you got your mains and idle screw good to go... And I would not guess based on what I have read what I have messed around with myself the needle being in the 3rd or 4th clip would cause that kind of lag/bog? Did you read the JettingFAQ document on the site here? It's helpful... A lot of the guys on here really know their stuff, but I think they ignore jetting threads... Try this if you have not already... http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html
  8. Being new here I did not reply initially with what I wanted to reply with. I did just ask a simple f-in question! Oh, and even if what I wanted to do was wrong/stupid/dumb/inexperienced or what ever all you credible experts said, I'm pretty sure could find a way to try and "help a newb out" without trying to make me look stupid. And to pamatt and xblessedx, I would take your advice before half the shitheads on here because it's 100% clear that you guys actually ride your bikes not just haul them around in a trailer and rub them with a micro fiber detail cloth all f-in weekend. I'm still not going to install the stupid key Thanks to all of those that did reply and were not dicks...
  9. Its already sold dude... Sorry.
  10. I would venture to say that score is wrong and its more like guy 1 girl 16 Woman can be evil!!!! Hang in there man... And good for you and not just takin it!
  11. Now go run her over with it.........

  14. Good one...
  15. Yamaha Dealer... 12-13 bucks... Save on shipping
  16. If he was doing work on your carbs I would say these guys are right and there was something loose and it was sucking air leaning out one cylinder. I always shoot a quick few puffs of starter fluid around all the boots after I have the carbs off and fire it up. If its sucking air the idle speed will change when it gets a dose of the starting fluid. Sorry to hear you are having trouble...
  17. How much for the vf3's shipped to 17307? How many hours on them?
  18. I wont be able to post it until I get back int own tomorrow. But it has not been mounted since being blasted and powdercoated.
  19. I have an older DG powdercoated black... I have never had it on my bike...
  20. If you look at the time stamp I think we were sending them at the exact same time so I prolly would not have seen it. But thanks... I dont know where I'm at in this line Blz, but I got the $$ and am interested...
  21. What are you doing with your old plate? HA HA!
  22. If its ALL 3, and they will fit a stock setup, and they are not leaking, broken, bent, rusty or damaged I will take them for 225 shipped for the set.
  23. I thought so too... I was sure my mains were rich or at least leaning toward the rich side becuase I had good dark color on the plugs... I will be doing a plug chop first to be sure that I have my mains right. Then I will deal with the other circuits one by one. After I get it as close (as I am able to) I will pop the head off and take some more pics... If anyone out these knows for certain your bike is dialed in on the jetting take a few minutes and pop of your head and post some pics if you get bored...
  24. Becuase I have read enough of these threads to know that if yoh have 5 guys do the same job, you will get 5 different ways to do it... I was wondering what people did/do/have done, as in using loctite, some guys may throw it together, torque it, warm the bike up and run it, then re-torque it... Besides I'm new to a lot of this stuff, and I'm no gear head and I know the way I do stuff may not be the right or the best way... I just get annoyed when people start right off the by telling you what your doing is wrong or stupid... Plus I have read elsewhere the +7 keys/improper installation and torque settings are the biggest offenders. But since I dont like fixing shit, this god damn thread will assure that I will not be installing the stupid key!
  25. Credible advice? I was told that I should install a timing plate over a free key swap, and that is was hard to install??? What you get half the time on theis forum is people just telling you how much better and faster their shit is compared to others. I just asked a simple question. Thats all... I'm not saying a timing plate isnt better, I'm not saying cast is better than billet. Someone gives me a free plate, fuck I'll install it... I got a free key to bump my timing to +4 and though hell... I'll try it, why not, and wondered what the best procedure would be. That's all... :: I dont mind the .02 advice, but dont try and bullshit me or try to insult me because I'm not a fucking expert on Banshee's...
