  1. no boost bottle the guy has the banshee at his shop I will have to try to get a look at it
  2. The plug also had small pieces of metal melted to it. Is there any way it would have melted the needle bearings to it? It would seem to me that if it was hot enough to melt the bearing which I assume is steel it would certainly be way to hot for the aluminum cylinder and piston. Any other thoughts?
  3. This spring my banshee was not running right would not start. Even when pull started it would not stay running so I took it in to a local mechanic who does work on atvs and dirtbikes that race at the local track. He said there were carb problems mainly in the pilot jet he replaced them and re synced the carbs. I got it home and rode it for about 10 minutes and it died. Pulled it back and checked the plug one side was good the other was white with pieces of metal on it. Called the mechanic and took the banshee back he looked at it and said the lower rod bearing was shot. I asked if it was from the cylinder running lean and he said the plug looked that way from the bearing and not a lean condition. Does this sound right? When the bearing goes will it make the plug look white?
  4. thanks
  5. Hey man nice choice I have a z 400 also. nice comfortable ride true you don't have all the power but for trail riding it has good pick up and good handleing
  6. I am looking for a set of stock heel guards (both the metal boards and the plastic guards) they don't have to be real pretty just structurally sound thanks
  7. Handyman do you have the plastic guards with them??
  8. do you still have the floor boards and heel guards
  9. temp is about the same
  10. It was not sitting that long just a couple of weeks Compression was good when checked about a month ago have not ridden it much between checking and having the problem
  11. I have a 2000 Banshee the other day I tried to start it and kicked aprox 30 times with choke pulled out and it wouldn't start when it finally did start it ran very weak and when you touched the throttle it died. This went on for a while than we pull started it it took a while but eventually it started and ran fine. once it was warmed up it started fine by kicking it It has worked fine before and was wondering if it could be the choke lever thanks
  12. stock Carbs went from a 240 main to a 260 main
  13. Mine was doing the same thing you might want to check Jetting. I went with bigger jets for the colder weather and the problem cleared up.
