Can someone please shed some light on what's going on. I have gas pouring out of my bowl overflows. It seems to only happen when I have the throttle around 1/8-1/4. At idle and 1/2 throttle or above it doesn't do it. I have 39 PWKs and I set the floats at 16mm. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? .m tfloa

check and see if they open all the way up in the exhaust port. if not, mark and cut them so they do. i just did it to mine and it made a huge difference -

are you using powervalves or blockoffs? -
You are right that if you have bald tires, you will skid no matter what brakes you have. When i switched from the stock calipers to the yfz calipers I noticed better stopping distance and much better feel. Like zilla said, you have to use less pressure at the lever to slow down.Thats the biggest advantage to the twin piston design. The pads themselves are much bigger meaning you have a larger contact surface on the rotor. Also the twin calipers will give you a more even pressure on the pads. I will say this also, going to braided brake lines made a huge difference in feel also. Once again, much better control and feed back. I race harescrambles and motocross so Im use to running into corners pretty hot and coming off of jumps into corners were you want as much control as you can get.

You can buy good used yfz450 calipers for around $100. They work great. Much better then the stock banshee calipers. Also, like said above, just bolt on and go.

Yes, I made sure the carbs were just tilted enough to rest on the needle valve and not push in the button. As for the jetting, I think I need CEL needles and lean out the pilot and main. After riding it a bit today I think its loading up on me. If anyone could chime in on some good base jetting it would be a huge help.

Hey guys. Looking for some help with a couple issues Im having. First issue is when my banshee is running I have gas coming out of my bowl overflow tube. It only does this when the quad is running. It will not leak a drop when its just sitting. Im not sure whats going on with that. Second issue is when I go to do a long pull into 5th gear it will run great until the very top of the rpms. When it gets into the very top it starts to cut out. Now im not sure whats going on. I dont know if its starving for fuel or its bogging out. If I let off and jump right back into it its fine til I go for those last few rpms. Its driving me nuts. Here is my current setup: 472 Cheetah with PVs, PVs cut to match exhaust port at full open. 39 PWKs with 8inch pods. CPI inframe small bores. 24cc domes with .060 squish 135 psi +6 timing 93 octane pump gas with 40:1 mix Sea level to 1000 ft About 80 degrees Jetting is 50 pilot, DGH needle middle clip, 178 mains, 2 turns out on air screw Floats set at 16mm Dual pingle with a gutted and drilled cap.

Well i got the PVs cut this weekend and installed. I now have a full range of power and it is working great. nice bottom to top pull. It was a pretty easy fix. Im very happy with the results.

I'm not sure how much bigger they ported these cylinders. I bought them this way. I tried measuring them compared to the super cub porting layouts that are posted on CP's website. If I go by those measurements they went pretty big. There is quite a bit of blade exposed when the PV is fully opened. I figured that I would use the blockoffs as a template. Yes, I do know that I have to match the curve of the exhaust port. I was seeing if anyone has done it themselves. I do my own case matching and thought it wouldn't be much different to match the PVs to the block offs.

Hey. I just wanted to know if any of you guys with PVs have cut them to match the exhaust port. I have a feeling someone port my cheetah cylinders and matched the block offs but didnt touch the PVs. So now my PVs dont open any where near enough to match the exhaust port. The thing runs great up top with the block offs but like crap down low. With the PVs the thing has a ton of bottom but goes flat on top. Yes, the PVs are opening and closing.

Whats everyones thoughts on the 2-1 setup?
hercalmighty replied to turbowrenchhead's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Have you done a leak down test on your motor? 390's, 400's? That is huge. Are you running pods, air box with lid, or air box without lid? -
For the stator to timing plate screws use 6mm 1 pitch 30mm long. For the pick up coil use 4mm .7 pitch 12mm long. I just bought some this morning from Home Depot.

Thanks. I appreciate the help. Do you have a good starting point for jetting? 472 cheetah Cpi small bores 93 octane mixed to 40:1 39 pwks with 8" k&n Sea level 75 degrees About 150 psi +6 timing -
The craftsman tester is well worth the money. Great piece that should last a long time

Just bought a kicker and shifter from Jeremy. Parts came as promised. Paid on monday, got on thursday, which is damn good since it was cali to pa. Don't hesitate to buy from this guy.

Leakdown test on Cheetah PV
hercalmighty replied to hercalmighty's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Little up date. I tried doing the leak down with the pv installed. Didnt work out very well. I sealed the hell out of them and was still getting air leaks out of them. So I ended up putting the block offs in to run the test. I did take the pv back apart and resealing them but haven't tried doing another leak down with them installed. Also, I havent heard any feed back on a good size jet to run in the pv. I have 230s in now. -
Hey guys. I'm looking for a kicker and a shifter. I would prefer oem but dont really care as long as they are in decent shape. Let me know what you have. Thanks

Leakdown test on Cheetah PV
hercalmighty replied to hercalmighty's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
My old banshee was a stock cylinder dune port 4 mil. It was ported by hjr. I had 23cc domes to get me about 160~165 psi. +6 timing. Vf3 cages. 35mm Airstrikers. The thing ran hard. -

Ok. Sounds good. I kind of had the idea of plugging the jet some how. I was mostly concerned with it leaking air and causing issues with the motor. On a side note, what size jets would you recommend for the powervalves? I figure the smaller the jet the slower the valves open and the bigger the jet the faster. Right now it has 230's. Is that a good starting point?
