  3. Here is there website: www.trailsheaven.com Located near Gilbert WV and have been there a few times and never a bad time. Ever. Something you have to do before you die type place.
  4. Hope you can make it, heck I hope everyone makes it this year.
  5. Oh yeah, I remember that. I was home staying dry but wishing you guys all the best. Hey, I did come out Sunday for a little bit of a ride and it was great.
  6. We doing a rain date? It will be spring time in Indiana by that time. Could see some rain that day. Funny though, all are outings have given us great weather no matter the time of year.
  7. I'll be there for sure. I might have a new suspension on the Shee by then. Also might have a trailer to haul one of the bikes on too. Things have been looking up since my wife's car accident last July so its all good now.
  8. Anyone have any plans? I should be at Haspin this weekend or if anyone is interested maybe Badlands.
  9. Want to go tomorrow? I actually have a free weekend!
  10. Can't go now. Down to one vehicle and the wife needs the truck tomorrow. Sorry guys.

  12. Lets do a roll-call on Tues or Wed on this thread to get a count of who is in and who is out. Not that it will change my plans any, but just wondering. I have my calendar cleared the whole weekend anyway.
  13. Yep, glad I went. Had fun and Badlands has a new course mapped out that looked pretty cool. Tyler, my son and I did a lap around it and hope they keep it. Overall a great time.
  14. Looks to be up in the air. The weather report is changing from definite rain to maybe rain but only in the early morning if any. I am planning on making it unless downpours go on which it is starting to look like a dry weekend.
  15. Which day are most of you going to be there? I am thinking Saturday works better for me but Sunday isn't bad either.
  16. When I can no longer kick start the bike without having a heartattack I will keep riding. I'll know when my time to hang it up happens. After 38 years of dirt I'm still lovin it.
  17. Wait until he gets old enough to ride your Banshee and won't ride anything else.....
  18. I'll be there. My son will be too on the Shee and I'll be on one of the bikes. Probably my RM. Let me know where you will be parked and I'll look you up.
  19. ****Ahem***** I did show up to the Big Rock event with a grill, charcoal, lighter, hot dogs, buns, mustard, BEER, and breakfast the day of the ride. The weather killed the Haspin trip btw..........we were missing one guy though on the Big Rock event. Not sure who that was....oh well, didn't matter we had a blast. Anyway, I'll be there on the August 8th Badlands deal. Not sure if I'll camp out. My son is supposed to be here so it will be upto him what we do for that. I know he will want to go because he loves Badlands. So put me down for it too and maybe an extra rider.
  20. ON a more sobering note..........don't let you ego write checks your banshee and body can't cash. Great learning experience for me. Here's the story for those of you who weren't there..... We go to this location that has a heavy soaked creek basin and you can see how the water washes down the hills surrounding it making for some pretty slick conditions. Being that I have always gotten up most every hill I have seen I figured I could go up one of these even though the conditions were pretty challenging. This hill I tried had no run-up and was slippery at the base to say the least. I start up it and not thinking this through put the weight over the rear axle and she actually got through the slick stuff okay, then the tackier section the bashee starts to grab. Before I knew it the handle bars were on there way to serve me lunch and now on a nice steep slick grade I get to try to jump clear of a now 400 lb machine out of control I made it clear for the most part, but I still got a small exhaust burn on my shoulder (hardly noticeable) and a nice raspberry on my chest from the handle bars but no broken bones. Now for the funny part: The Banshee wasn't through with the show by a long shot. It manages to turn itself around and nose first goes perfectly down the slope headed for the next worst area: The creekbead with some heavy slop that only means its winch time. It goes down the kill and jumps the fallen tree and lands squarely in the creek bed with its wheels stuck out (Broken tied rod end) and nicely planted. Folks......it gets even better. Its pretty clear we need a four wheel drive quad with a winch to take mine out. Toolman (I still owe him money for the two spark plugs he gave me that morning) goes off to get help. Being that he knew where we were and how to get help back to us he heads up the creek. Looks like we got a plan to deal with the ego trip gone wrong. Well, it looked good until he hits the creek in a worse area that my Banshee got stuck in . The whole thing was making me believe higher forces were at work here. We all look down to where he was and some of us saw his Banshee just kind of sink in to this with mud roostering it up. Now things are looking bleak. Along come the Quad family (Arctic Cats and a Polaris Four Wheel drive) with a winch. Pretty nice people and super cool by my book. The guy ropes his Polaris to a tree and winches me right out. Toolman's Shee was a little more challenging given the fact that the area his was in was soupier and not as mush room to work, but he got his out too. The biggest regret of course was not catching this on video. As IndianapolisBuck told me later "It would have made a great "Watch and Learn" video. Mispelled saved the day having a spare tie rod end (the only casualty btw) and I still owe him $5 balance on it (tie rods ends aren't cheap I have found out) and I owe him bigtime for it. The ride (other than this mishap) was pretty amazing. Probably have had the most fun this year there than anywhere else I have ridden. Lots of trails and room to ride. The countryside is pretty nice and the park, although hard to figure out direction at first, has some pretty nice trails. Bare in mind, we stuck to the drier areas as a group but all in all I had a great time. I got out of my mishap with no broken bones, some lost time, and the Shee was still operable and finished the day on a high note.
