  1. Have you cleaned and synced the carbs?
  2. Changing the head gasket changed the timing?? No a head gasket wont mess with the timing. Does it backfire? Clean your carbs sync them, make sure your balance tube between the carbs is in place (little black tube), check your intake boots for cracks most of the them crack around where the crossover tube goes in. Clean the filter. It could be just something simple. Check everything else before you pull the head off.
  3. Yep your dealership will have it should only be around $10. The only reason you would need a differnt gasket is if your running big bore jugs. If its buring antifreeze or tranny oil you should be able to smell a difference. Check your pulgs, Put new pulgs in it. Check all the basics first. You said you messed with the timing? What is it set at? And are you running a stock head?
  4. I agree ^^ its because of him and other sponcers and the premium members this site is here. So stop bitching.
  5. Its easy to do, im sure your not running big bore jugs, if not just order a stock head gasket. The bolts are numbered on the head loosen them in order a litttle at a time. And tighten them a little at a time in order. Does it smell like something is burning besides just fuel?
  6. yamabond or 3bond
  7. Get a clymers manual and it will walk you through it. Where are you from?

  10. Can you post some pics of it?
  11. Can you post some pics of it? We are just talking about the covers, not the whole seats right?
  12. The pipes are probably the reason you have so much top end. If i were you i would keep the pipes get a timing plate and a cool head to get more bottom end. Do a compression test just to make sure its not time for a rebuild.
  13. You should be ok on pump gas with your timing set at +4. Welcome to the HQ
  14. Here's a few pics of the one i have its off an 02 and in great shape, let me know if your interested.
  15. I would try what Jeff said first. One day your gonna want more power and start porting and maybe even a stroker, and you will wish you had those cpi's.
  16. The 4mill is the stroke of the crank not the length of the rods, the rods will be 5mill, here's what you are looking for >Stroker Crank<
  17. Its not the rods gonna make the difference its the 4mill crank, 5mill rods. Just adding the rods is not a stroker, you have to get the 4mill stroke, 5mill rods.
  18. Do a leak down test on it, and it will tell you if you have an air leak. >click< <This should be pinned.
  19. Doesn't lonestar use ball joints not heim joints? I dont think they are asr's. The lower arms are different then the asr's. asr's Maybe fullflight's? You can get a new set for $320 arms
  20. They are the one's on my bike in my sig. I have fat bars on it now. Here's a pic of both they are both 7/8.
  21. I hope he is a member here!! :yelrotflmao:
  22. sounds like pilots could be stoped up, i would clean them and sync them.
  23. Ive always taped an old socket to the axle so it wouldn't damage the axle, after taking the nuts off the axle and the hub. Then beat the hell out of the socket with a BFH. I do it with the carrier on the bike.
  24. I agree  , The stroker would make a more noticable differance
  25. Yeah its possibal, but by the time you buy the rods pay shipping both ways and pay to have them put on and trued and welded, you could probably buy a new 4mill stroker crank.
