Does the key switch work? Just curious, trying to trouble shoot. We have the same issue on my homies bike and he has no key switch at all, we think that might have something to do with it.

Sorry to hear that bro. What type of work or industry are you in?

Need some expert opinions, help me out guys
DallasGDub replied to Joey's topic in General Banshee Discussion
The likes and dislikes of each bike are endless b/c they are so different. To me that Shee is over priced and the 450 is under priced. The 450 is ready to roll for trails and is current in technology, and mechanical advances. Side x Side, "that Shee" can not compare to the 450. NOW we all know it can be moded all day and made into a better bike. But that is more money, time and knowledge. If it was me, I would take 5k and buy one of these $10k heavily modded Shee's floating around from someone that is hurting and needing it. -

450 is the better deal. -
The mods on the 250r are not even close to what you have in that Shee. I would say no. Plus you have a 450 trail bike.

Sold pending payment.

Paypal and lower 48 only. I will get better pics later tonight, left the SD card at home. They are the ones off my bike. I got Wacko's Elkas.

The list of DIY threads in one section would be WAY to long. Plus you have a lot of different ways to DIY. Easier to just search and post what you can't find help with.

Knock - Knock.....it's me, How do I fixed a stripped drain plug. (just kidding fucknuts) Next time, you can use Teflon tape on the drain plug to help snug it up so you do not have to over tighten to get it to stop leaking. That was very risky. I think most of this beef comes back at you b/c you do tend to come off like a smart ass when someone is offering you logical and tested advise. It may not be the exact answer your looking for, but it is advise. It happens, it is a forum with a lot of diff personalities, get over it. You will eventually get the answer you need.

Maybe his wife is making him sell it. He said he would just put it on eBay until it sells.

Purchasing My First Banshee
DallasGDub replied to dbdragracing's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Look for stress cracks in welds along the frame. See if everything looks nice and strait. Check the gear oil, color should be oil color. Not milky. With those pipes, you will feel the bike have a nice steady pull along with the sound of RPM rev. If it revs high, but does not seem to pull, clutch could be slipping. Look for rust, surface spots are ok, just nothing extreme. Like BlasterKX said, look for play in the swinger. Also in the front tires. Bars should be strait, little or no side to side play in the front tires if the bearings are new. Same as the back axle bearing. Put both hands on the inside axle, and wiggle it. Watch for movement in the carrier. Smoke is ok, as long as it is not Spyhunter smoke screen style. Look for leaking oil from the case and around the shifter area. Test the compression if possible. Should be 115-125 on each cyl. Ask why he is getting rid of it. A lot of shee owners simply give up and go with 4 strokes b/c of lack of knowledge, or just plain want a change. That's on the level with trading for a 4 stroke. Check his intentions. Make sure it is not some basket case he is unloading. He might just not know a great deal about it and got it to look cool. On the other hand, If he is acting shady about anything, or questions you have, fuck him. I will add, I jumped head first into shee's. This is my first quad. My reasoning behind getting a shee was the aftermarket parts availability and the cheap "DIY" labor. It really is easier to fix and to maintain once you get the basics down. Your cash will spread out over several mods and improvements. No really big chucks of money all at once. Most repairs you do will be improvements. You don't have to really know about a Banshee to fix it. They do take some wrenching and work though. But it is cheap and easy. If you have some basic skills when it comes to working on shit, you will be just fine. It could blow up on your first trip out, and with a little help from everyone on here, you will be up and rolling in no time. I like 4 strokes, but the thrill is gone after a year unless you ride extreme. They end up just being cool to putt around on the trials and then what? Banshee's are fun no matter what type of riding you do. I have not been limited to what I do just b/c I have a Banshee and I have ridden some nasty woods/creek beds before. Honestly, I can simply get on, go around the block of my neighborhood, and still get a rush from it. When I ride trails with my 4 stroke buddies, I tend to have more fun doing basic shit like strolling around in the woods just b/c of the power. -
Lay some cardboard down under it. You will be able to see if it is leaking and then evaporating. It will leave a circle stain on the cardboard.

is it to expensive for port and bore
DallasGDub replied to theantboy's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
600 is about the market price for a nice port job, and a complete topend rebuild from a reputable builder. (new rings, pistons, bore, hone, ext....) So 500 seems a little high for just a bore and port. Not only do you get the rep, but both HJR and FAST are cheap when compared elsewhere. -
X2, This would be my first guess as well. The water pump gasket is a little different from the water pump seal. The seal is behind the clutch cover and the water pump impeller. If you take the clutch cover off, you will see a bearing on the backside of the water pump impeller after removing it. The seal fits in between the bearing and cover on the inside. If the gasket was bad, it would leak water on the out side of the motor or into the water pump cover. Also, it could be a bad clutch cover gasket, and that would have to be changed anyways if you changed the impeller seal. I also recommend a leak down test to make sure you not leaking air anywhere.
