Yeah man, that is what I am thinking. Sucks b/c it was on eBay. Hard to catch things like unless you know exactly what your looking at.

I seen these shocks, something just seems off to me. I asked him to take another pic to show yall. I know with the preload all the way to the top, and the shock dismounted, you have some free play up and down in the spring.....HOWEVER....this one has about 2" of up and down play. Hey MJ, this is only temp set up, he is saving for some +2 arms. I told him the cons of running it on stock arms, but since it was only for a while, he wanted to mount them anyway. I think they are a basket case and a loss. But if we can get them recharged, and springs for under 60 bucks, it will be worth it. If not, makes a good paper wieght....

Well it is all good to hear. I am taking all the notes and advise. No worries, I will test the comp before I run anything. As hype as I am, I will not get it all put back together and have it WOT down my street....LOL....baby steps.... .................maybe 3/4 throttle.jk I can't wait to post the pics of before, during, and after. The threads and the people on here made it possible. Many people have saved me cash, others have saved me from mistakes.

Yeah Kevin said it all depends on my compression as well. I just wanted to be prepared for when my jugs get back. I got 20's now, but was thinking of ordering 21's just to make sure I have on hand to roll it. I hate having new mods, and not being able to test drive it. LOL... But if people like Mags are getting away with 20's down here, then I will be set. Jeff also said I should have no problem as well. So I am sure it will be ok. I will know for sure soon....I am hype to get this bike back together.

600-1000', not sure on the compression yet. Just now sent the juggs off to HRJ. Just trying to see if I could ball park it for dome size order. Jumping the gun a little. I will wait to get it all together and test the compression to get a better idea.

Can I run pump gas (93oct) with 20cc domes, dune port, +4 timing? OR Is it 21's?
-
Thx man....I hate to see it go.....but....I am in the middle of a full rebuild and the entire bike is different. All new plastic, colors, grafix, parts, bling...ext......I liked it, but I bought it like that. It was not really my style.
-
Well if you need new shocks. Yes, the YFZ's are way better than stock. A little stiff on stock arms, but still better. I have seen some for 100 to 150 for nice sets on here. I would not go over 150 for the YFZ's. For the money, you can not really beat that. I love mine.
-
I just shipped mine to Kevin for 15 bucks via-UPS. From TX to Cali. So 30 total. Porting will be around 300. 500 for YFZ's and Porting is enough, however, shocks are only good if you plan on getting arms in the near future. If it was me, I would spend the cash left AFTER Porting, and get your head decked/shaved (60 bucks). Also a adjustable timing plate ($60 w/flywheel puller). It will be a new bike with those three mods. You can get the shocks later on when you have a little more cash to get the arms also.

I would rebuild based on your compression. If your still sitting at 120psi or up on a stock head, might as well just wait. I am getting a port job from Kevin as we speak. He knows my budget, and advised me to wait on the full top end rebuild. (after checking, I am sitting at 122-123 psi per cyl. on a stock head).....I then spent the extra cash I saved for a cool head and domes to go along with the port work. If the compression was lower than 110psi on a stock head, then he would have told me to get the full topend rebuild and just shave the head. I can say if I was not on a budget, I would have gotten all new bore and pistons just to be so fresh and so clean.

BANSHEE problem, what jet is wrong?
DallasGDub replied to blaster2006's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Tors are notorious for malfunctioning. Yes it is a rev limiter, but it is low end technology from the 80's. It sucks. If it was doing like you said and it was turning off, this is electrical. So I would point to the Tors. Jetting is more of an idle, backfiring, poor performance at low and high end, bogging, ext...but not really shutting the bike down and turning off. My guess, you said he sprays down the motor with WD40. This is not a big deal b/c it helps with keeping it clean, however, if he sprayed it down around the carbs, and it has been sitting for 2 months, WD40 could have gotten into the tors and along with dust and it is gumming up. It is a little electrical button with a spring on it and easily sticks. On top of the tors, they have 2 white male/female box plugs hooking it up to the harness. you can unplug both. -

Just unplug the Tors for now, then see if that works. It will be the 2 wire connectors leading to the top of the carbs. See if that does the trick. If so, later on if you get it, you can buy the Tors remove kit for under 50 bucks. -
I loved the PT Mids on the trails. Very smooth power if you want it, but also light switch instant speed when you need it to swing around, get ahead on a strait, or even make a jump. I only sold mine to go with something with a little more topend, little less low end.

Holy shit I spit my food out on that one.

WAY better than stock. Cheaper than the alternatives. A little stiff with stock arms, but worth it. Work great on +2 arms for a budget.
-
You have to do a little grinding on the arm mounts and frame mounts. Check out the thread on the mod. Takes all of 20min. Very easy.

Damn that's a lot of teeth. Looks like a piano. -
They are the ones on my bike. I am doing a complete rebuild. They are in ok shape. Typical used marks. Pipe burn marks in the side. But they are priced right. I can take some pics later. The seat cover comes with it, but it is not in very good shape at all. They are cut, so shipping won't be as much, but still around $40. I have nor priced it so that is just a guess. I was going to sell these local. Here are some pics from this Summer before breaking it all down.

I have my rear race cut for $30 plus shipping. Or the entire set for $90 plus shipping. (Seat cover is pretty beat up).
