rear sprocket was brand new. first ride on it. everything was bolter right and straight. carrier adjust correct. every bearing and bushing replace on entire bike so there is no play in anything. axle nuts were also tight. just doesnt make any sense. something im my chain and sprockets must not match right.
everything was snug just right. chain was adjusted to have a between a half inch and 3\4 for play. it started right from the get go and was annoying as all hell. i put that chain on my buddy bike and his worked fine. i put his on my bike and has the same skipping problem. it rolls around the chain like it should but when you give it gas it skips. the only thing i could think of was the rear sprocket.
why in the hell would my chain be skipping? first ride on brand new chain and a set of sprockets. needless to say was too far to get my spare and definatly wasnt gonna waste the trip so its all fd up now. what would cause this? rolls around it freely untill it is under a load. it was also adjusted correctly. wtf? also swapped the chain from my buddys and same damn thing!!!!! could it be the sprockets?
i was luck enough to find an 87 shee basket case on there last fall and managed to pick it up for $70!! now its running top notch with only $400 into parts to piece it together. look enough and you will find something.
great deal on the shee. i picked one up for $70 last summer and had it running and all back together for another couple hundred. few and far between for that price. good luck.
i tried skippin a 100 foot wash out and ended up upside down. same problem. i just let it run for a little while and let it dry real good. runs great now. no problem.
if you find the right size line, correct flare, and fitting you would be fine. also make sure its the same length. it will probably be about the same price as buying a used on from someone on the site.
like stated in the beginning, synicning the carbs have to do with airflow and everything set identical on the carbs. find where to adjust everything that is adjustable and work from there. cables need adjustment as well as the tors caps. look and you will see.
i have no idea if they are leaking or not. they have an oily film but could be normal i guess. there is no charge whatsoever in them so im assuming a leak. bought them used. today.
so i picked these up today, put them on and comes to find out they need to be rebuilt. how much will this cost and where is the best place to send them to do it?
probably an unbalanced tire. they tend to get flat spots also when sitting for long periods of time. if it spins straight then it should be fine. you can jack it up and use a dial indicator if you want to be sure.
i would fashion up a bracket sort of like the one shown before any drilling into the case. better off making something that will bolt up using what you already have.
run switch is clean and connection is fine. has a short somewhere in the harness and havnt found it yet. i know it wont stop theft. just using it as a kill switch and want a key that doesnt stick 2 inches out and break it off again.
