  1. Cant do man, none of my friends are dedicated enough to ride a banshee. Of course, none of them can beat me either.
  2. Spurdy's right, I didnt fully explain all of what had been said in the pm's. I switched the new one with the original working one repeatedly and got no spark from the new one. I am not accusing him of ripping me off in any way. He seems to be a very helpful member and has been really nice to me personally. I am just looking for possible reasons why it doesnt work, things I may have overlooked. I guess USPS must have really banged it around or else I am missing something. Also, there is no rattle in the new one that doesnt work and the magnets appear to be strong. -RM
  3. Yes, stock stator and stock flywheels only difference being the one that got shipped had been lightened. Are there aftermarket flywheels?
  4. I didnt hear anything rattling inside when I first got it and that was the first thing I checked because mine has a rattle and Im trying to chase down an intermittent miss in my motor and thought this might be the culprit. Although now I think it is an electrical problem that I missed when I went through the wiring harness but I am going to check for rattle again. My old one would rattle sometimes and other times the loose magnet would get caught somewhere and it wouldnt rattle at all. My bikes out at a friends house so i will try it later this afternoon. Thanks -RM
  5. Im the guy with the "claim." Believe me I would much rather this thing work than not work. I am very open to anyones suggestions and will be checking the replies for any possibilities or even to find out ways to test a flywheel for whether it is good or not. I have cleaned all contacts, checked the spacing, checked pickup gap, and switched flywheels back and forth multiple times with the same results. Thanks -RM
  6. Well I just took the cutch cover off to check it out and everything looked fine and was installed correctly. The fibers looked great but all the steels except one were pretty discolored, I guess that was my problem??? Can I replace just the steels and if so where's a good place to get them? Are the stock steels any good?
  7. After pulling several launches while practicing my take-offs my clutch seems to stick and nearly kills the bike. I end up having to adjust my clutch lever at the handlebars to correct the problem, then after it sits for a while I have to adjusst it back out to the original position. It also seems hard to shift during drag runs like the clutch is not pulling in all the way. The clutch isnt the best i know, its a tusk hd clutch with all 6 hd springs. It has done this ever since I installed and have tried to correct the problem the best I know how. I guess the clutch disks are getting hot and sticking together, does anyone else have any ideas on how to correct the problem other than buying a different clutch or is that my only option. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. -RM
  8. If youre going to do it, do right! If you get it ported to your style of riding by someone who knows their stuff you will never regret it. I could not possibly be happier with the results from my HJR port job. There are several builders out there that seem to do a great job, just personal preference, turn around time, price, etc, that goes into making your decision. If you can find someone close to you that has a good rep then you wont have to worry about shipping since price is an issue. One thing though, getting the head shaved and bumping the timing up will really complement the port job. -RM
  9. Looking for a couple of these wheels, dont have to be pretty but at least not bent. Thanks!
  10. I will check arounnd at some of the welding shops here. Im new to the aftermarket shock world but my friend had not used these much since the fluid was changed and I just wanted to make sure the nitrogen pressure was where it is supposed to be before I install these. I understand that 250psi is the correct pressure. Thanks for the help! -RM
  11. Where can I get a set of Works front shocks recharged in the Ft. Worth area. I dont think anyone does things like that in my littlle town and I will be going up there this weekend. Thanks! -RM
  12. Thanks for your help. According to what Ive read they have been doing some renovation at Kermit to try to make it more user friendly as far as camping and stuff like that goes. When are yall headed up to LS? We might be able to meet you up there if my bro-in-law can swing it with work. Ill try to find out today and let you know. -RM
  13. Yea I checked out the website but I always like to hear from someone whos actually been there. I thought about going to LS, I know its alot more popular but the only thing holding me back was the extra 3+ hr drive. It would be fun to have someone else to go with that had been before. Is LS that much better? Im open to suggestions, I might see if my friend can stay for the whole weekend, He's supposed to work Sunday afternoon.
  14. Is anyone familiar with the sandhills near Kermit, TX? I need some input on the basics like camping or motels, regulations, riding/parking areas. This will be my first trek to the dunes and Ill be going with a friend with a 660. Any other general duning advice would be appreciated since this is our first trip. We will be driving there on a friday, riding for a day and driving back Sunday morning. Its about a 5 hr drive but we can only spend one day cause of work. Thanks.
