Yup, a little. Just moving along. I keep forgetting to bring the camera to work to post pics. Since my last post I've built a better powder coating booth, powder coated most of the small parts a burnt translucent orange (very pretty). It's my first time doing a translucent color and I'll tell you, it's a lot harder to get even looking coverage than a solid color. This last weekend I started making the sub frame just because the other one was slightly tweaked. And the one I'm making will just look better. This up coming weekend I hope to finish the subframe and get close to finishing the swingarm I haven't started on yet. The cylinders are being sent out for machining and porting this week. I'm about to a point of having to spend money to get parts coming in. I already started taking the motor apart so I can sell my cylinders, coolhead, and intake. My target is to have assembly going good by end of February to mid March. I think the most time consuming is going to be getting all the electrical put together and getting everything to actually work. I'll post pics as soon as I can remember.

Nothing special. Just a small basic feeler guage. Similar in concept to a spark plug gapper measuring tool thing-a-ma-bob

This was listed on Ebay and had sold. Did the buyer not follow through??

Doesn't look like this now but.....

Your PM box is full Roost Rocket. I have a couple questions on the crank. Purchased from where? Trued and welded? PM me your paypal address -
After an ungodly amount of F'ing school I'm finally in an Engineer position. Manufacturing/Quality/Industrial/Plant Engineer. Depends who or what fucked up!

1-888-PPP-SUCK wasn't a valid number. I'll contact a few of the other guys.

A few members have pointed me to either Jim at Passion Racing or Patriot racing for porting RZ cylinders. I've sent Jim a couple emails over the last couple months with no reply. I always for get to call until too late at night and during the day I'm working. Patriot racing hasn't gotten back with me either but it says on their website that they are back to their engineer day jobs and can't dedicate as much time to building motors. Is calling Passion Racing the only way to get in contact with him? Who else has experience porting RZ cylinders??

The fact that you can have control of when and how much the power valves open and at what RPM, blah, blah.....Since it was designed for bikes I guess it makes it so you can control the powerband hit so you're not cart wheeling the bike. I'm not expert on these yet but posted it cause it looked fancy

It looks to be very similar to a RZ and Zeeltronic power valve setup except bigger and more technologically advanced with the porting and ignition.

Now this is sweet! Not sure how it would rate with the atv market but sure looks like the best of all 2 cylinder worlds! http://www.twostrokeshop.com/two_stroke_shop_engines.htm#eng

The actual sandblaster I made works great. It's not a siphon unit but uses air pressure to feed the sand out the bottom on the tank. I need a bigger compressor to maintain over 90psi for any length of time. I just run the nozzle from the blaster into the cabinet. I made an attachment on the side to connect my dust collector which really helps with being able to see everything. Without it seeing is difficult. Works great though and can really strip paint quick. Those parts took about 60 lbs of sand. I just use fine white sand from the hardware store. I use it 3-4 times before it breaks down too much. Just screen it in between uses. Screen the new stuff also since there are small rocks/pebbles.

Very nice....and clean. How do you like it?

Most suspensions suck from the factory except the new quads are getting pretty good. You're the first that I've heard saying a YFZ suspension was crap. I don't plan on keep the stock suspension for too long anyway. Long travel is in mind.

Not sure what I am going to do with the Banshee at the moment. Just last March I did a complete chassis rebuild right after I bought it. All new bearings, seals, powder coat, etc. I may keep it but I may part it out later to recoop some of the costs for this project. I have a little one on the way due in the Summer so this may be it for a while, although I do have a pretty good wife that lets me do just about what ever I want so we'll see.

Lets see if it works. The hole in the caliper is because I couldn't get the piston out, even with 125psi of air pressure. I used a small screw and threaded it in to push the piston out. Now I'll just have to TIG it. Ha, it worked!

Do you have to be a Premium member to post pics without a link?? Forgot last nights sand blasting pics. http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...terblasting.jpg

A member on here named "Airtite" built one of these. I believe he had a stock banshee motor. From what I know, his is working pretty good. There are pics of his on here and he also has an online album somewhere of it.

Now if someone can post the pics without having to leave HQ that would be great. Not sure how to do that yet.

First, I'll give 2Strokespirit the credit for the coming up with the name of this bike. I know many would be interested in this project so I am going to try to keep a running thread as progress goes. Hopefully I will be able to finish this by mid April. Not sure exactly where to put this topic so moderators please move if this is not the correct forum. The planned specifications: YFZ 450 Rolling Chassis Banshee motor (bottom end) RZ top end (ported cylinders) Zeeltronic to control all ignition and power valves Re-valved/Re-sprung rear shock +4 Swing arm (Me build) Pipes (Me build-maybe) Color Frame and small parts- Translucent Candy Orange, Chrome base, Clear top coat (Powder Coat) Suspension parts- not sure yet Fenders- black, gray, or carbon fiber Ok...Here goes Couple pics of what the $450  rolling chassis looked like before starting http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...nt=IMG_1075.jpg http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...nt=IMG_1074.jpg Pics of disassembly Holy $hit I'm going bald at an early age!! http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...nt=IMG_1083.jpg http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...nt=IMG_1080.jpg Some equipment pics My highly custom blast cabinet http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...lastCabinet.jpg And gloves  http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...Blastgloves.jpg The sand blaster I made last weekend http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...Sandblaster.jpg Metal Epoxy machine http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...rent=Welder.jpg Now for some progress Motor sitting in chassis http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...t=Frontview.jpg Front motor mounts http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...otormount-2.jpg http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...tmotormount.jpg Rear Mount http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...unted-rear2.jpg http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/pp349/n...otormount-2.jpg Radiator to motor clearance. I think I have looked at all of Airtites online album of his build. I didn't know anyone had done it before and felt better about tackling it after seeing that it doesn't seem too difficult. I have been taking pics and will post them in a new topic after I am going good on it. Last weekend I got the front and rear motor mounts welded up and now I am ordering powder for the powder coat. This weekend I'll be sandblasting everything I can and prepping to put in the PC oven. Color theme is going to be either a chrome or black chrome base powder with translucent orange and then a clear. I would really like to do all carbon fiber colored plastics and upgrade the front suspension but that's going to have to wait. I'm trying to do little by little without any type of debt. Depending how much and how fast I can learn about building 2 stroke pipes, I may make my own. I have some Pro Circuits I can hack up but won't like how they look. I'll be building the +4 swing arm also. I'm just hoping to have most everything done and rideable by Mid April. If everything works, it is going to be one wicked ride. Shooting for around 80-85 HP with the motor. And I will be a FAT kid riding this thing

Didn't know there was such a program available. Thanks guys and Snop for the book reference. I might add that book to my collection of "how to" books.

Before someone starts bashing me about wanting to build custom pipes, stop. That's not what this post is about. I'm simply asking, "for those that do have any knowledge on it" what is required for a banshee motor (or 2 stroke for that matter) to breathe the most efficiently. For example, what should the length of tube be before increasing to a larger size, how large of expansion chamber, etc. I know, I know, it depends on the setup, yada, yada...... I need to hack up a set of pipes to fit the banshee motor in a YFZ 450 chassis anyway but I want them to look like they were made for it. With that said, I would like to improve the pipes if possible since I'm already cutting and bending the shit out of them. From what I've read, it seems a slightly longer tube coming out of the cylinder with a bit more volume in the expansion chamber increases power. The RZ cylinders on the motor will be ported. I'd like them to really be able to "sing" on the top end. I thought I've heard that the RZ motors, set up correctly, are still making good power at 12K rpm. Once again, I'm looking for constructive criticism, thoughts, ideas. This all may be a total waste of time. Not sure yet. Thanks for any positive input guys.

2strokespirit is correct on the 3 into 1 control unit. Gerry, if you don't have the powervalve servo with cables, you will need that and also an RZ voltage regulator/rectifier. There are a couple in Ebay now. I think the easiest would be the Zeeltronic system. That's all you'd need after the servo motor and regulator plus a battery or eliminator. As far as I know you'd wire according to the attached diagram. banshee_ypvs_wiring_PCDI_10V.pdf

Well I haven't ordered the stuff yet. Borut sent me that diagram and costs in August when I had first asked about it. So you say its a 3 in 1 setup now huh? I'll have to ask about it ask I'm getting ready to purchase. He still has it listed as 3 different boxes on the website.
