  1. yeah doing a top-end with the engine is no problem at all. Im doing it right now also, just make sure everything is clean before you take it apart. If i were you i would take the tank and front fenders off to make it easier. Just take your time and you will be set! good luck man
  2. i wanna keep it and make it into a trail engine. But if i decide to sell it il let you know
  3. i know its not in the right fourm but thought this one would be best as far as people seeing it. So my cousin and i went and looked at a 1989 banshee today for him. The guy wanted $1200, it is in pretty good shape with a set of t-5s with tommey spark arresters, and +4 swingarm. But the sprocket is welded on, tires are shot, brakes are shot, and it needs a new seat cover. So to make a long story short my cousin offered him $900 but refused and said "i cant take $900 i need atleast $1100. So we had planned on buying it anywase but acted like we wernt interested and said "no thanks not for $1100" And he goes well i do have a spare engine for it that i bought for a go-cart project back in 1998 and its been sitting downstairs in my basement. He said If you give me $1200 cash for it ill throw in the engine. So...i gave my cousin 200 bucks for it and i got a 93 shee engine for $200 and he got a 89 shee for $1000. I got it home took off the stator cover, put a socket on a drill and turned it over with the compression guage and it has 128psi in one and 131psi in the other!! I wish i would have known this before i sent out my jugs and head to get done.
  4. well i got my old shift shaft seal out (it was a bitch) and i put my new one in but i got it about 99% straight it is damn near perfect but the bottom is in bit more than the top and rather than tapping in the top and then that being in to far i left it. I should be good shouldnt i?
  5. paddles and front sand tires are my last thing to buy but damn if i didnt have $900 worth of parts to buy/pay for i would jump on these...bump for a good deal
  6. i dont blame you for being pist. And i totally agree with you about the intake's in buying a new boss intake after i pay off the $900 in new parts i need.

  8. im just wondering if engine ice is a proven product or a product with a fancy name and expensive price tag. Let me know what you guys think...thanks
  9. i guess i shouldnt have said anything before i went on your website. You do have some kickass pricing and anyone wanting some parts look at his website.
  10. if i wanted to go off a website i would go through dennis kirk or rocky mountain
  11. i know its to late now but there was a nice as hell set on here like a week ago for cheap with silencers
  12. yeah the clymer manual says 24:1. hell i dont know anyone running that mixture that is rich as hell. you dont have to run race gas! it all depends on how much compression you have, one person with 21cc domes could have say 150 psi at sea level but someone at 5000ft could have 135psi (i know its probaly not exact its only a example). i know guys that run 50:1 with amsoil dominator depends on what you feel comfortable with but 32:1 is a good overall mixture. do a search on the hq and/or go to noss's website they have a compression chart. Get a compression tester, thats the only way you will know exact numbers.
  13. ive heared only good things about the boss intakes. I know that is the intake im going to buy not only do they look nice as hell but the built in crossover is nice.
  14. i need a new or like new rear sprocket, parking brake blockoff, chain guide set, front brake pads, case saver, axle bearings, pancake bearing, and a pro design aluminum water impeller. let me know what you have thanks
  15. run a 32:1 mixture bro. 16oz of oil to 4 gallons of gas. Dont quote me but i think anything over 150psi of compression you need atleast 50/50 mix. anything under that any premium gas should be fine.
  16. i cant, they arnt one piece reeds
  17. well i got my axle off and bearing and seals out but when i was taking the left nut off of the axle it fucked up the threads and i spent all day today trying to find the right die to fix the threads. Not only did i not find one i have to order the damn thing and it is going to take 2 weeks to come in
  18. yes i am, he CLEARLY knew the silencer wouldnt work as there was a post on the hq about it but still sold it to danbanshee thats fucking low!
  19. i took out my reeds tonight and when i looked at them they arnt tight against the cage. Is it time for new reeds or are they fine? they are boysen super stocks, and the engine ran good with them in it as they are. thanks
  20. holyshit that is one hell of a deal!
  21. haha, yeah il race him i just talked to my engine builder and he only has a 1 week down time for porting so im now going to get my cylinders ported along with head milled so i think i should be good lol
  22. i tore it down because i planned on getting it ported and head milled and the old owner said the engine was never touched so i thought it would be a good time since there isnt really any riding to be had here in michigan for a while. Ive only ran it a few hours but the old owner ran maxima oil in it. i currently run klotz r50. Ive never torn a 2-stroke apart and saw what i saw tonight. the head looked like it had 20 minutes of run time and hell the pistons looked like they had 5 minutes, the top of the pistons only had a little bit of carbon. But i checked out the piston clearance and it was .22! It did have some piston slap but damn i was supprised the thing ran as well as it did.
  23. well i got the banshee top end off tonight to find out it is on stock bore (its a 1996!!!) with 110 compression, no blowby, and the pistons and head look like new, with VERY minimal carbon buildup. Now i was wondering how would i know if i was leaking coolant into the cylinders? im thinking due to the pistons and head looking so clean that the coolant is washing off the carbon. Ive ran it for maybe 2 hours since i bought it with the radiator staying full of coolant. None of the gaskets seem to have and signs of coolant passing by. And the only way coolant can wash off the carbon is if it leakes into the cylinder by the head gasket right?
  24. that shit pisses me off and i wasnt even the one that bought it! Nothing pisses me off more than lowlife's that list one thing for sale and ship the totally opposite item. that asshole knew that the silencer wouldnt work but still shipped it. what a DICK
  25. what brand graphics does your shee have? im looking for a kit like that for mine
