well shees back to her ole self. I put some new silencers on and i had my wire harness zip tied to my frame to get it out of the way and one of the wires from the cdi got burned to the silencer tube, so i taped it off and took it for a ride a wheew she runs like a champ again. thanks guys for all of your input! -

the slides are in the correct carb. Ive re-jetted 3 times now with no change at all, i cut the coil wires down and reinstalled the spark plug caps in some fresh copper, put on a new choke tube, pluged back in the tors box for the hell of it and still nothing, cleaned out the gas tank screen. The only other thing i can think of is maybe my reeds are shot because when i put it back together one set had like a 1/4" gap between the reeds and the cage, Do you think this could cause this to happen and also do you think my porting could be the cause of this even though it ran perfect before this happened? thanks guys -

well i dropped the mains from 380 to 350 adjusted the floats moved the needle up one clip and cleaned out the whole carb really good with the air compresser...now it runs whorable! i cant even make it one lap around my yard without it cutting out and shutting off. It acts like its really restricted..it runs good up to the powerband but wont hit the powerband AT ALL rite before it hits the powerband it runs like shit and starts missing like crazy then shuts off... -

tors are completly gone and capped off and the parking brake is disconnected waiting on the blockoff plate but is totally disconected from everything. -

no i didnt try that how do you do it? Its definally a gas issue dont you think? its wierd how before i rebuilt it never did this. -

yeah i did its got 25 pilot needle is on the 4th clip and it has 380 mains...the only thing i did with the jetting is took out the old 340 mains and put in the 380s since it is like 45 degrees out here id rather be a lil rich than lean but it ran awesome all day but i didnt really rip on it hard untill tonight when i went through the gears but i did get into the powerband a little today and it didnt miss or anything like it does now. When i start it runs/idle's great, i get on the road rip thru the gears and it runs great one way then i turn around to ride back and as soon as i get near the powerband it misses and sputers like crazy but if i keep it below the powerband it runs good. At first i thought maybe to main jet got plugged but it wouldnt make any sence if it runs great one way then on the way back it runs like crap -
so i just got my shee up and going after the porting, head work, pistons etc ect. I broke it in and did a few heat cycles and it ran amazing! I just took it down my road after letting it warm up and only rode maybe 20 mph the whole way down the road to warm her up a little (1/2 mile) then on the way back i got on the throttle from 1st gear through 4th and it just shut off so i pulled in the choke and it fired back up and ran like shit the whole way back home missing and running on one cylinder so i checked compression and it was perfect at 135 in both cylinders....i let it sit and ripped down my road again and it did the EXACT same thing it acts like its running out of gas..when it gets into the powerband it misses like it has fouled plugs but when you let it sit for a few minutes it runs perfect for maybe 300 yards then starts missing again. But as long as you stay out of the throttle it runs and idle's great but as soon as you get near the powerband it runs like crap...what do you guys think??

so i just got my bearing from fast and i dont uderstand....i got it in with the new clutch and shit and its loose does the clutch tension hold it in place b/c it doesnt tighten down on the hub like the stock one does is that right? or what

im at around 200ft above sea level and before porting with fmf's and pod air filters i was at a 25 pilot needle on 4th clip and a 340 main and it ran perfect with a nice tan plug. I would rather be a tad rich than a tad lean. You will be close with that setup

i am about ready to install my new clutch kit and i was wondering if i soak all my clutch plates with gear oil and do i need to apply any lube to my pancake bearing? thanks

as for those sparkys...they work is the bottom line, but you CAN loose them if you dont tighten them down tight. I know a guy that uses exhaust clamps to clamp them down on shitty silencers then they wont fall off. But if your silencers are nice i wouldnt do it. If it were me i would buy the hush kit, yeah there pretty expensive but it will last forever. You wont have to re-jet. The sparkys you dont know if there on from one minute to the next.. So say you buy two sparkys at like $75 a pop theres $150 and you have the chance that one or both will fall off, then not only are you out of $150 bucks you have to either call it a day, buy another one, or risk getting a ticket...either way if you lose one and dont buy another one you WILL NOT be let back into the dunes, so for another $30 i would buy the hush kit then you dont have to worrie about anything but having fun!! Now for everything else.....flag, orv sticker, state park sticker, and if your going on a busy weekend vouchers you can get all of these things up there. The orv sticker is going to be $16.25, flag will be around $20, and the state park day pass is i think $7, and the vouchers are free. For other small things there is a small atv and dirtbike shop (david allen racing) right next to the dunes if you need oil, plugs, gloves, they also have i think 110 octane fuel...etc... hope this helps you out man!!

yeah its not a all quad show by any means but you can find good deals on used paddles and such..i wouldnt drive from florida to go to it but if i was a hour or so away i would. You never know whats going to be there one year there could be 1 quad the next year there could be 100 its a swap meet not a dealership.

no, you dont apply any type of sealant that head gasket should be more than enough to seal everything properly

yeah if you happen to come across a set let me know....yeah i found a set of 8 paddle haulers in twin lake but the rims are for a honda for $100 i thought about buying those but time i buy new rims i could buy the complete set from skat trak for $235

i know it seems like alot to buy...try to get a toomey hush kit w/spark arrester i think there like $180, but it will last you forever....you also need a flag.

dont get me wrong i love 2-strokes, i always have but i dont think theres anything wrong with 4-strokes either. It just seems like everyone with 4-stroke have to try and prove that there better/faster than a banshee. 4 strokes are better than 2 strokes at some things, and 2 strokes are better than 4 strokes at some things. I will say though people with 4 strokes are a hell of alot more cocky than us guys with 2 strokes.
