i have a good set of pipes but look like shit by the cylinders and am looking to get them re-chromed i was wondering if anyone has done this and how much it costed them...i am kinda stuck with fmf's because i am going to do alot of trail riding and dune riding and here in the awesome state of michigan require a spark arrester...i would like to get t-5s but then have to fork over the money for arresters and fmf makes silencers with them in it or i would switch....thanks

350BANSHEE350 Posted Today, 06:17 PM pointless IMO all you need to do is make sure your gas can is always clean and make sure your tank is always clean and thats free besides you could pick p a filter at a hardware store for a buck if you reall want one dirt gets in easier at other places (air filter, any clamps for the carbs etc) your going to tell me that everytime you put gas in your tank you make sure your can is clean of everything, and then you get a flashlight out and look into your tank to make sure thats clean also, i dont belive it. for $2.50 its worth it to me to not worrie about it but if you want to go for it.
-
i do, i think its the best thing you can buy for $2.50 dont have to worrie about shit in your tank getting in your carbs
-
man that sucks you live way down there one of my buddies has a 96 blaster with bad top end but with all parts to fix for $400 his dad is about to scrap the thing out b/c its been sitting there for a year or so ive rode it before it blew it and it ran awesome i was going to buy it to fix it and sell but i have NO room for it

hi i am looking for a set of fmf spark arresters, a case saver, billet water impeller, some tires, and some rear paddles, some front brake pads, handlebars.....let me know what you have and how much...and let me know if a cashiers check would work for you thanks

hi i have the oppurtunity to pick up a set of like new sand geco paddle tires on aluminum rims from a 89 banshee and i have a 96 banshee just wondering if they changed the bolt pattern over the years thanks
-
also is milling the head a good way to bump compression or should i get a noss head im not worried about changing compression once its done (as far as domes or anything) as long as i can get somewhere around 150psi of reliable compression i will be happy i just dont want to have to put o-rings in every week. or dick with it. if milling isnt all that great i will buy a coolhead but would like to save some money as im starting college soon just bought the quad (money pits haha) and am trying to save money up for a house

i would love to do a COMPLETE rebuild but that wont be till next winter...if i got it in late fall or early winter i would do a full rebuild, but only getting it 2 weeks ago and the dunes opening late march im not seeing that big of a budget. for now im looking to do a complete top end (bore, pistons etc), v force3 reeds, billet water impeller, parking brake block off, removing old clutch lever assembly and putting on new perch, new pads, new handle bars, case saver, timing plate, prolly new clutch, and some new tires all the way around, paddle tires and new silencers (spark arresters) so that right there adds up to a decent amount, plus im still paying it off.....do the flywheels (magneto) come off hard or do they usually pop right off because i used to have a honda 200x three wheeler and i tried to pull that off and fucked up the end of the crank...so if they usually come off hard il prolly skip putting on a timing plate although i want one bad....so if i do put a plate on and run it +4 il be good to go and not have to worrie about anything? thanks everyone
-
if i were to get a noss head would be a safe dome to use 20cc domes? im just looking to up the compression to where the engine runs best...on 93 octane fuel my shee has fmf fatties, no tors, and twin k@n pods thanks (my shee will be for mostly dune riding and for trails)
-
i am going to be rebuilding the shee in the next few weeks and have a few questions...what is a safe number to advance the timing +4? what is the benifit of advancing timing? also how much would you recomend milling the head without worring about reliabilty or anything.....just looking to get a good smooth running engine with some more performance while the engine is torn apart. not looking to make it a drag quad by any means. anything else i should do since it is torn down? thanks
-
haha shit i wish i had that kinda money
-
well i found out where the gear oil is leaking from...its comming out of the shifter shaft seal. how do i pull it out and pop a new one in....also my banshee runs great but all of the t.o.r.s are still hooked up but it has the elimanater kit on the carbs should i still dissconnect the black box, throttle sensor? or just leave it connected thanks
-
alright thanks guys. yeah its a wierd ticking noise i first thought my left pipe was loose or something its not very loud or anything just irratates me
-
any good engine builders in west michigan?
bansheejoel replied to bansheejoel's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i'll give him a call thanks alot man -
well i fired up the shee last night, and the noise ive been hearing from the engine that i thought was piston slap sounds like it is comming from the magneto side of the engine behind the cover. is there anything that would make a tick sound from that area? it sounds like it ticks everytime the engine makes one revolution. can i take that cover off and run the engine? any input would be great, thanks
-
how bad did i screw up my break in
bansheejoel replied to Cory9584's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
no matter how new the engine is your going to hear a little noise if you rock the flywheel back and forth i wouldnt think it would have messed it up at all....by kicking it over i wouldnt think it is any different than running, the engine was still getting oil so i wouldnt worrie about the rings....break it in and do a compression check if your worried about it -
thanks for all of your input guys
