  1. they have some really well thought out products and the nice thing is the prices are pretty reasonable
  2. definitly portwork if funds allow ,theres an abundance of power potential by the right portwork
  3. they are actually made by power pros company and stamped for ct
  4. typicaly if its starving for a steady fuel supply it will be evident on the plugs and fall of the pipe as well as hesitate at high rpms ,not saying thats not the problem here but if it was me id investigate into the electrical system more and figure out what kind of actual igntion timing your getting. :geek: it defies logic that the domes/clearance are causing the issue at this point.
  5. do the plugs show signs of detonation ,any little flecks of aluminum and look lean ? keep in mind there is much more to detonation than static compression alone: squish clearance ,dome volume, squish band width squish angle ,ignition timing, fuel choice, exhaust port shape exhaust port height and design, plug heat range, ect..
  6. size for size mod for mod dollar for dollar nothing beats a banshee
  7. the engine is only responisble for probably less than 50% of the outcome ,tranny ,chassy setup, gearing ,tires all play a huge role .that how the wild drag 350's can run under 4 seconds in 300 feet
  8. Joe be sure its got a high tensile strength and has a non O-ring design
  9. small bores for sure ,on some port layouts and bigger engines the BB work good ,often times a big bore pipe on a small bore engine will give up some lowend torque and response
  10. yeah well that idea was acceptable in 1965 but youd be way further ahead to have the cylinders sent out and professionaly ported by somene who uses a porting program and with many years exepriance there is no replacment for doing it the right way .
  11. other than your clutch i would say your mains sound big ,wrong pipes for adune port and the carbs are pretty big for a stock stroke dune pumper
  12. interesting video ,less gansta music ,more engines lol do yo u guys ever think of maybe wearing helmets? it al lcomes dow nto cubic dollars ,a fourstroke wakes up strong with extensive mods but it reaches a limit 10-15 hp over stock while the banshee can fairly easily double or triple its stock power .
  13. looks great..now get some video up so we can hear it
  14. no matter how ideal the layout/design is as long as theres casting flaws, no fills ,uneven heights ,and misalignments due to the manufacturing process there will always be something to gain by correct porting and the cheetah cubs are no exception .
  15. I would add also you will want to match the base gaskets to the cylinders /monoblock ,it wont do any good to trim the cases ..only to have a gasket hanging way over blocking flow into your transfer area
  16. yeah the dunlap radials have the good tread design ,plenty of cleanout and thin soft ply for flexability but being most are only 2 ply if your a cross country rider or ride crick beds and mountian ranges or anything with schall or sharp rocks youll want more plys to prevent punctures
  17. i would have to agree with loco on this one over the years ive tried most all the tires listed in this thread on all kinds of banshees all in all the best hardest hooking tire in most dirt applications i have seen is the Ohtsu 501 400ex tires ...other good options worth looking at is YFZ450 rears and 20inch turftamers with low pressure and cut every 4th row out o..now if you are running a drag strip with some good mositure clay get some prowedges 2's.
  18. ohtsu 501 htrack 400ex tire has the perfect spacing lug depth and rubber compound to hook up hard in almost any terrain ,they are the dirt racers favorite for a reason
  19. sometimes when your getting a feel for the exhaust power curve by the seat of the pants testing youll be inclined to think it makes a real abundance of arm ripping power in the midrange becuase the delivery is sudden and breaks the wheels loose ,but in actuality it can mean the pipe is simply lacking usable lowend torque and comes on late giving the impression its a more powerful pipe ,just something to think about and consider .
  20. id look at procircuits ..then toomey T5 for a mild snappy play bike
  21. and they respond very well to an aggressive trail port ,nice wide meaty powerband
  22. run only NGK ,champions are only good for a mtd lawnmower
  23. its an old school archaic setup by todays standards ,the cubs and cheetah monos are a much better option .Actually some builders have had good success with them in the past ,but they would require extensive porting to get big numbers out of them kind of like the Trex kits .
