  1. ok so i went out on my cub cylindered shee(392cc) so it basically all new and just past broken in. so a guy on a new zuki450 was talking shit and wanted some!! so here goes... we started drag racin just so i could smoke him down.. i know its my fault but heres what happened.. i was taking off in 4th gear WFO!! sometimes i never shifted!! sometimes i needed 5th.. we were on a dirt track that was dry as all can be. so traction was hard to get.. now i have a toasted clutch!! is there a clutch out there that will take this occasional abuse?? or should i just get a lockup???
  2. it sounds like your degree key may have sheared!! i would check it for sure.. also check the pickup gap on the stator.. i had a bad plug cap once that made mine run crappy.. what carbs are you using?? are the carbs also new on this motor?? maybe need to play with needles on them.. first we need to see if it is timing or a jetting problem, or ignition.. what do the spark plugs look like??
  3. what do your plugs look like?? are the carbs sync'd?? what type of fuel?? 18cc domes sound like you should be running a good race fuel, depending on the rest of the engine i can't say.. i run 20cc domes and i barely get away with 93 on mine..
  4. what do you mean by skipping and popping?? whats your compression, fuel and timing??? i went riding yesterday with my 68mm stock stroke cub, and there was this guy with a new suzuki 450 wanting to race.. he was a newbie and basically was saying he knew he could smoke me and wanted to race just so he knew!! well i finally got tired of smoking him and he left with a hurt ego!! lol we even raced on 2 different tracks and he still had no luck.. as far as your skipping and popping let us know some more info on your bike and we can help ya out better that way.
  5. have you had the carbs off?? it REALLY sounds like you have the carb slides in backwards.. swap the slides out of the carbs.. the edge with the arch cut in it should be facing the airbox.. its a common thing that easilt happens if you are not paying attention sometimes.
  6. i have used penzoil before.. been a long time though, anymore i keep an extra quart of amsoil on the shelf at all times.. that way i never run out..
  7. yep, he is not kidding about the 2 hours of masking!! and i agree that price is only good for hqer's.. anyone else and the price is considerably higher.. but it looks sweet when you have a nice looking motor.. its always better to take a little more time and do things right.. if you do shitty work pretty soon you will not have any business.. plus if you are like me or tate, we take pride in our work and enjoy doing it.. i just finished up doing a bunch of stuff tonight.. man bike black is super sweet..

SCAM!!! beware guys,, one good rule to always remember!! its a rule my father told me when i was young.. actually there are a few set rules in life i was taught!! no.1 never trust anyone with your woman no.2 never trust anyone with your money! and the rule that relates to this is no.3 if something sounds too good to be true, IT PROBABLY IS..
  9. not bragging cause i know the stroker guys are listening, but my stock stroke 68mm cub is a strong runner.. when i go out rec riding, no one, absolutely no one has beat me yet, not even close... it definately surprises me they way this "lil ole motor" runs.. lol but as far as that vitos setup, it surprised me to read that they are nikasil cylinders.. thats kool shit..
  10. geeze guys!! i have been gone for a day and this thread kinda took off.. sorry i have been away and havent answered any questions,, thanks tate for helping me out.. yea as tate said.. its all about prep work, the way we do it there aro no problems with gasket surfaces or anything.. you will not have to scrape gasket surfaces or kickstart holes when i do them (tate does the same thing by the way) .. if it is masked off right(which is a time consuming pain in the ass) they will look great.. yes i will do anyones cases for 100 bucks.. just let me know.. my turn around is fast.. right now i have a box full of parts i am doing for a guy but hope to have most of it done by late tonight.. but like i said i can have them headed back in your direction within a couple days.. pm me if you want..

  13. nope.. those motor mounts will be just fine.. if it is the nylon crankcase vent you are talking about, yes it needs to be removed.. it just pops out.. do you need a powdercoater?? i have done a boatload of banshee cases.. let me know if you are interested.. here is a pic of a set i did in black.

  15. heres my .02!! first off you need to bang any of her friends that you can, second do all that you can to legally pay her back, did i say legally?? lol.. after that is all done, enjoy being single, bang all the hotties that you can.. you said you can't have kids?? well neither can i, i had the snip snip done a while back and im lovin it!! i was in a long relationship(no not marriage,but) shit went sour for me.. was together for about 8 years, she started screwing around and powdering her nose at the same time.. long story short is that i realized that getting away from her was the best thing that has ever happened to me (not the worst as i first thought) it will get better soon for you man, and when it does it will be better than its ever been..

  17. i have a nice virgin set on stock bore 64mm.. no porting... very very nice.. shoot me an offer.. i can have them bead blasted so they will be spotless when you get them..
  18. i heat cylce them about 4 times.. run about 1/2 tank. then ride it like i stole it.. always have great results.. theres a lot of friction when the rings are seating, and running the engine at high rpm's does not help matters..
  19. bankrupt!1 i have one of them also.. i powdercoated it and never used it.. i decided to stay with dual carbs.. i have it and a pwk33mm cab i would sell.. pm me if interested.
  20. plus ricky stators are junk!! don't be surprised if that brand new stator is just an expensive paper weight!! i have seen a lot of them bad right out of the box!! try ohming it out also.. good luck..
