  1. shit pies i tell ya!!!! shit pies.. and everyone has a shit eatin grin!!
  2. if they are forged, they can't be any worse than stockers.. i would say they will be fine.. just get a good tight bore and roll with it.. plus if its the wifeys bike, i would almost bet that it would not get ran as hard as most banshee's get treated.
  3. umm.. the counter sprocket shaft (gear set that the sprocket bolts to) gear set gets 2 shift forks (toward the rear opf the motor) the front gear set (closest to the crank) gets 1 shift fork.. pay attention, not all the shift forks are the same.. where did u get the overide?? mine came with full directions.. its just as easy as setting a stock tranny in place, except ading the springs for the shift forks.. all i needed was a picture whowing which spring went where.. hope that helps, if not reword your question so i can understand what you are asking a little better..
  4. i'll be bringing my cub, just got some new 4 snows mounted for the drags.. i'll have the cases split on it tomorrow, replacing a tranny bearing that took a shit on me.. so it should be together by this weekend.. gonna do a little more tweaking with the carbs .. hope to see you guys there.. i'll be bringing some cheap whores with me.. they will be making donations also, but i won't talk about that on the net.. LOL..
  5. are you planning on buying that trinity intake off of ebay just to get a boot for the one you currently have??? if so i would say that is not a wise decision.. when i bought my 2 into 1, the carb boot looked good in the pics, but it wasn't.. it was dry rotted and cracked.. so if you currently have a 2 into 1 and just need the boot, the smart thing would be to buy a new boot from trinity. that way you know what you got and it will last for a very long time.. you will be money ahead in the long run..
  6. ouch!!! they went up.. thats rediculous.. its a one of a kind size, and they know it.. basically, they got you by the balls on this one.. might as well chuck out 60 greenbacks and call it a day, before the price goes up any higher!! the one i bought looked like it just came out of the mold.. you know how rubber tends to dry out, so at least they aren't selling boots that have been sitting on a shelf for years.. at least thats what i got..
  7. i had to buy one for my trinity intake.. only place i could find it was from trinity.. get ready to shell out 50 bucks.. thats what it cost me.. but it will last a long time..
  8. fuck!! theres shit pies flying around in this thread.. lol..and im not popping my head up!!! like i said before.. a single carb, higher compression/timing. some pro circuits ( i prefer t5's myself), and maybe a trail port.. thats as good as it gets for woods riding.. banshee's are 2 strokes, and we all know the nature of the 2 stroke engine.. sure, you can set it up to have decent low end.. but it will never be as tourqey as our 4 stroke rivals.. only way to almost have it all is to build a powervavle engine.. you can also gear it down a little..
  9. LOCO, sup NUKKA!! do you run stroker domes on your 10 mil?? or is the deck height of the cylinder designed to use the standard big bore domes??
  10. have you checked your squish? compression?? im not sure about the cubs, but on stock cylinder 4mm setups you usually have the domes cut for the added stroke, i am thinking that the cub cylinder has a higher deck height, but i am not sure.. i have a stock stroke 392 cub, they do love timing, i think i ended up running +6 or 7 on the timing.. hopefully someone more knowledgable will chime in, so do not take my settings as a DEFAULT setting for your setup..
  11. on my trail shee, i have the 2-1 intake, 19cc domes, +5 timing, t5 pipes, and a port job i did myself.. i love the way it runs. it does great everywhere.. ask jugrigs, he has een this bike run before..
  12. well shit loco.. guess i will be keeping my cub bike, since its just a lil 392.. sorry.
  13. yea. i suck at explanations also.. at least you get where i am coming from.. lol..
  14. where did you get the first overide from?? and how is the second one holding up??
  15. i used the firecracker as an example.. lol.. and yes i agree, more fuel will let the engine run cooler, but less fuel casues more heat (lean condition). im not saying load the engine up with fuel to the point that you are throwing unburnt waisted fuel out of the pipes. just TRY jetting a little ritcher in this situation, and yes, checking squish IS important, but it is done more on stroker engines etc. a stock motor with bolt on's hardly ever gets checked by your average joe.. less fuel, more timing, and compression all create more heat.. every engine setup will require tuning of its own. yes there is a close "ballpark figure" to tuning on most engines.. there are always different ISSUES that can occur also.. such as improper squish, poor grade fuel, and so on. as for an explosion, i never refereed the IC of an engine being an explosion, i was referring to the firecracker EXAMPLE.. there is a difference between an explosion and combustion. not enough fuel can cause detonation. can somone argue otherwise?
  16. so dave, are you saying that a fuel/air mixture that is under more compression is not any more explosive than with less compression?? i have to disagree.. heres an example for you.. lets take a firecracker for example,, it has gun powder that is tightly wrapped and compressed inside, light it and it goes BOOM! unravel that firecracker and spread the powder on the ground, now light it. no boom, and it burns slower.. but of course like said before, not having the bike here for us to see, we can only give little help and pointers as advice. and throwing more fuel at a motor is not a "default" answer that i always have. when you have a fuel mixture under more psi, and the spark is advanced, that mixture is going to burn more complete, and faster.. let say for anothe example. dave, lean your bike out until it detonates, now start lowering the compresion and timing!! i bet that the detonation will start to disapear as yo lower your timing and compression..
  17. i usually end up at the car wash.. i soak the bike down with that green tire cleaner (some bad ass shit) and let it soak, then use the hi pressure soap and spray it down, then just rinse it off.. for rusty pipes i get the soapy SOS pads. get them wet and gently scrub the pipes.. it works great... i just use mothers polish on the shiny stuff.. powdercoated cases clean up very easily also.. and the green tire cleaner is finish friendly..
  18. did you just pull the plugs out after riding?? when checking jetting, you need to warm the motor up, then put a new set of plugs in it.. take it out fullthrottle pinned and go through the gears, then shut it off quickly and check the plugs.. if you let it idle for too long afterwards, you will not get a accurate plug reading for your main jetting.. does that make sense?
  19. when they get hot, the radiator will steam.. i have seen bikes that require a larger jet on one side than thr other.. i like my plugs to be chocolate brown.. hope that helps.. if they are burning totally clean, its lean, black=rich.. chocolate brown= good..
  20. everytime i have filed a complaint with paypal, i always got fucked.. paypal has never done shit for me as a buyer.. i hope the best for you guys.. im not trying to be negative, i really hope that paypal comes through for you. just sharing my past experience.. and yes, there has been some shady business going on around here lately.. its a dam shame.. i do powdercoating nad have people send me there parts, and money on top of that.. that takes some trust.. but people that come on here screwing us over, make it harder for everyone else to have enough trust to want to make a transaction.. i wish you guys the best. peace.
  21. kinda sounds like you are sucking the carb dry of fuel.. are you running a fuel filter? if so check it, if its dirty, change it.. you may also want to check your float level..
  22. check your jetting, look at those plugs. is it running hot?? also, i have seen different 2 stroke oils (such as motul) have less smoke than others, or hardly any at all.. personally i run amsoil dominator at 50:1.. which your premix ratio will change things also.. i like to seem some smoke from my exhaust (and i do).. some guys run there bikes waaay to lean to get power.. i go the opposite direction.. i run high compression and timing, but end up throwing a lot of fuel at the bike... but its not running rich.. however your motor is setup will determine how it will be jetted.. most of all. keep an eye on your plugs and engine temp.. it will let you know if its running too lean.. a lean condition will also cause detonation.. every bike will be different, JMO
  23. here is my view on this.. i assume the bike was in perfect tune before installing the head?? and you bolted the head on and started to get deto?? i know this will start an arguement, but compression and timing DO affect jetting.. compression and timing promote more complete burning of all the fuel mixture in the cylinder, so the higher the timing and compression, the more fuel you can squeeze in and burn.. so your condition sounds like you are lean, 150 psi should be fine with 93 octane.. its not like you are running a drag ported, stroked, and extremely high compression bike.. bolting a coolhead on a stock banshee motor and getting 150 psi is a pretty normal thing.. it happens all the time.. how many people do this and never check squish?? A LOT.. and they never have a problem.. they just rejet the bike and all is well.. i suggest rejetting and going richer on the mains.. i bet that your deto problem goes away, and the bike will run like a raped ape.. now if you did a lot of things at once, such as a stroker crank, porting, and extremely high compression, i would suggest checking squish, run some higher octane fuel, and jet accordingly.. just my .02
  24. i know that the bearing is loose.. i just want to make sure i have all bases covered. if i tear back into it, i just want this problem to disapear.. just wanted some opinions on how realistic it sounds to have a loose tranny bearing make this noise.. thanks guys.
  25. a lean condition can cause detonation also, 150 psi should be good on 93 octane.. i am not disagreeing with the above ^^^^ at all.. i would richen up the main jet and go from there.. i am always cheating, so i try to fight the deto demons by throwing more fuel to it.. just my .02
