Did you go one pilot size bigger?.......Because they like that. If you were running a 25, go to a 27.5 If you were running a 27.5, go to a 30 Then mess with your airscrews till the motor is happy.

Nope lighting circuit is seperate from ignition.

superstock pistons? 06 rebuild
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to teamblumkin's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The SS pistons do exactly what they claim. Great bolt-on mod for quick easy upgrade. You won't get the better bottom end power of a port job. But for someone with very little upgrades, it's a good steping stone to power. You will have to make jetting changes and it's better to learn about those adjustments on a basic set-up. Otherwise you might trash nice ported cylinders before the jetting learning curve is complete. SS pistons really liven up a motor with pipes and +4 timing. -

High flow water pumps question

^^^ What he said. -
Racetech stators FTW!

It doesn't hold up to sand. I have a dune bike and I ceramic coated all the polished pieces. Axle, hubs and sprocket spider frosted first trip. Only thing that removes ceramic coating is sandblasting. As for the performance debate.......doesn't matter....this guy is asking beauty questions.

I follow that same rule! Last time we decided to "Rip one more lap before we go" ..... I ended up ripping the right front A-Arms right off my bike, tacoing 2 rims and I ended up looking like Peter Pan flying thru the air. I walked away with sprained ribs. (I was VERY lucky) If you had a good days worth of riding, then that last lap isn't the period on the end of your story........it's the exclamation point on the last chapter titled "FFFUUUUCCCKKK"!!!!

and people think sand is forgiving..............body slam them on a beach somewhere and they might get a taste of a good dunes crash. Looks like you can still work a remote.......so eventually you will be fine. At least you won't go crazy waiting for that shit to heal. (No stitches right? They just tied the chin hair together. )LOL What was the cause of the different injuries. Chin hit the bars and then handspring instead of rag doll? Hope you heal quick and correct.

Usually Noss does a step cut on the water jacket side of the dome. (Stair cuts the dome radius for more surface are and better cooling transfer.) Looks like that stage got missed somehow............

We're going this weekend and again on September 20-21-22. (If anyone cares to join us, your more than welcome to join the fun.) Late in the season we stay at the Sierra Sands Resort. Great place and with the off peak rates, it's affordable. Good to be sleeping "Indoors" that time of year and the big outdoor Hot Tub is great for resting muscles after ripping the dunes.

With both the item and the coupon posted for everyone, that was a very helpful post.

If you use the wifi to link with your phone and watch video for long periods it eats battery. But to link with the wireless remote isn't supposed to be an issue. The camera app works great to verify your camera angles. (My buddy has a hero 3) He uses the phone to check his shot aim and control the camera. But he doesn't use the wifi to watch anything in replay. He watches the footage after our ride.

As stated mine are WCR units. They work....but issues beyond that prevent me from recommending them. I have dealt with REDLINE with my motor build and his turnaround time is almost unmatched. I would have him cut me a trans any day. CAMATV has done trannys for more than a few members here without any reported issues. As for your bike, a fully modded stocker would be your best choice. You don't need an override. You need a ProMod style. They shift like a dream and you can backload them without ever worrying about shift fork life.
-
I have 2 running WCR trannys. Neither are "Extremes" because I spent two years expecting to get one and instead spent hours on the phone listening to his latest updates on the failures and his planned changes. First I got a ProMod because the extreme wasn't ready for my duner. Then the next year I got an override because the extreme wasn't ready for my dragger. Shipping issues with plenty of members, failures with trannys, timelines not met, races and seasons ruined. But your happy....... So glad your happy. HONESTLY I AM. You apparently have a working version of a trans I would VERY MUCH like to own. But......as far as I know, Greg isn't selling them anymore because he lost his ass repairing and shipping the failed units. (So people can't even get one.) And his customer service when it comes to making things right is good. But his reputation for getting it right the FIRST TIME and getting it shipped correctly in a timely fashion is not. So....if you would like to counter my comments with your personal endorcement to use WCR, feel free to do so...... REDLINE or CAMATV unless Spurdy wants to actually openly recommend otherwise.......
-
Well Spurdy....instead of telling me about you being one of the few with a running extreme....why don't you step up and recommend that someone call Greg at WCR and order that trans since your so totally satisfied with your entire experience? Then when people have seasons ruined and spend their time waiting for shipments, they can spend their down time telling you about how happy they are to be splitting cases multiple times in a season. Then if they are lucky enough to get a trans that finally won't engage two gears at once, they can continue to split cases every other season to replace shift forks. If they can first talk Greg into even selling another Extreme......

Anyone got a nice Hinson 8-plate hub?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to WINDYCITYJOHN400's topic in Wanted
Thanks Zilla....but I wanna stick with the Hinson gear. (New hub arrived Friday) -
Count yourself as lucky. Not only do you have a real unicorn......your able to ride it. Enjoy that luxury and keep fresh tranny fluid in that thing, because you aren't EVER going to find another unicorn like the one you have. So treat in good! (And don't let anyone else ride that bike. You don't wanna risk them pissing of the unicorn)

Can a aftermarket Flywheel...?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to CrashRyan's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Contact Evan at RaceTech for both your new stator needs, as well as experienced help with your electrical diagnosis. -
Yep. WCR has fallen on rough times and I don't see him rebounding. He released the Extreme and out of over 50....almost every one came back. (The trans has an flaw in that if your in a light backload and downshift, the bike can engage two gears at once and that is always a kiss of death.) He pulled them off the market and personally told me he was no longer going to pursue a fix for that trans. I waited almost 2 years for the solution that always seemed to be right around the next corner.....month....after month........after month....... If your doing any trail riding, an override isn't the best choice. A ProMod (Fully modded stocker) from Redline or CAMATV would be my recommendation.

NO! They are a nylon like material and shed water due to the smallness of the weave. (Like a micro fiber) Oil on the Outerwear's actually blocks airflow. Little trick: When oiling your outerwear's, put the filter over the end of a shop vac hose. (Filters for 35PWK's fit perfect on my Rigid vac hose) Do this for a while to fully dry the material after cleaning the filters. Now as you go to oil them (I use the spray kit) The shop vac will be drawing air thru the filter. This will help the oil to distribute evenly and also eliminate any overspray losses. Works great to pull oil down into the higher spots. Allow the vac to pull a little bit till the filter oil fully soaks in. Then shut vac off and carefully slide your Outerwear's on. (The rigid vac pipe works well as a filter support while you work the Outerwear.) The K&N design is pleated, so the Outerwear hardly touches the filter material at all. Also note: Most K&N filters come pre oiled now......so don't get carried away oiling when you first get them. Just get familiar with how they look new and the amount of oil you see on/in them.
-
Yeah....because you washed all the oil out of them. But with a water repellent outerwear.....the outerwear get's splashed and water runs off. Any water tgat makes it to the filer material is largely repelled by the oil that is already soaked into the filter material. With a foam filter....it's an oil covered sponge. The pours are bigger, but the filter is thicker. So foam is better for fine dust. But water soaks into the core requiring you to wring it out just like a sponge. K&N get's wet......you sit for 3 minutes and re-start the bike. MY belief - K&N for wet or sand Foam for fine dust Your the owner, so it's your call. I have no personal stake in this. I just don't want to see you need another top end......or have to tote a MacGyver kit around incase you hit a puddle. LOL
