Yep. (That's OK…I checked and they are booked solid for July)

Vito's has these. Buy from them instead. We have a set on the way we will be testing on a build.

Well Your on the right track. Jay has those custom pistons coming in soon and they should offer improvements without having to do any machine work on the windows. (I hope you meant mid JULY on your build. Mid June is here) LOL He can show you dyno runs from stuff he's done like your thinking of doing. Also give you a look at runs other well known builders motors made on the dyno as a comparison. So many different options on building HP, I'm sure you can find a build to fit your budget and ride style. If he's doing it all for you, you can get the full tranny mods done and that will shift like butter. I'll be there for the dyno runs on it when your done if you give me the heads up. Are you brining the whole nerd herd to the dunes? (Kids under 16 need an ATV SAFTEY INSTITUTE CERTIFICATION) They also can't ride if they are under 12 years old.

Fit is everything. I've tried to like all the glocks, but my hand likes the XDm's and XDS. -
Your listening.....but you still have that "I got this" swagger. It's great to be confident......but you need to do ALOT more reading. Then you will understand what people are trying to say.

Anyone running a steel clutch basket?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to TIM LUTZ's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I'll give props for finishing like you do. At 50 that's impressive. I'm 44 and I can run hard enough to wear out a 23 year old in our group. (Just don't ask me to do that 2 days in a row.) LOL Getting Banshee set up perfect makes a world of difference. A +2+1 stem make a big improvement for me......and a STEERING STABILIZER is a MUST. Wanna see people go ape shit? Run your next race on a Tri-Z. -
No. The proof of the clues you DON'T have is the fact that you were running monster jets (despite members informing you it can't be right) You built a motor with Monster compression and didn't really know it. (Untill I turned you onto measured and corrected compression ratio testing) You knew nothing about domes other than cc volume size (and pretty much still don't) But you think you only have ONE hole in your game...... I got news for you....that 11second Grand National would have been a solid reliable 10 second car in anyone else's hands for the same money, less wrenching with WAY longer life/reliability. Listening is a skill......You ain't got. Understanding is an art......You can't appreciate. Thinking you know it all is easy.......I got a 12 year old boy. Just ask him....he's got ALL the answers.

Then maybe you should just buy a YFZ450R. It even comes with a slipper clutch so you won't ruin it with engine braking. I got mine to make 44HP with a stock pipe, programmer and a full tune. (Stock is 39) -

Know what a builder does when you hand them parts?......Slap that shit in. If it was a part HE sourced, it would get a full inspection. The builders don't buy the parts off ebay. They source from the same places as the ebay guys. Let your builder make the mark-up. If the builder sources everything the overall profit pays him. He needs less in labor to make money. Hand him a pile of ebay parts and pay for every move he makes in the assembly of a motor full of parts he WON'T guarantee. Or......keep using that favorite phrase "It's fine" and carry on. How knowledgeable/informed/researched can you be if you are just now looking into who makes a good crank? Stop trying to buy parts and spend your time SAVING for a pro to do it up right. You'll end up buying crap base gaskets and a WIDE variety of 3rd rate junk thinking...."I've done it this way before and it was fine." You don't have the knowledge to decide if those "fine" parts are a 2 on the 10 scale or an 8. Remember a D- is still a passing grade. (Fine) Time to do your homework and start earning some higher grades.

Anyone running a steel clutch basket?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to TIM LUTZ's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
What notches baskets? It's NOT from pulling the clutch lever. It's the force of the fibers hitting the basket in the same place over and over. So the 100+HP alky drag bikes haven't got room for input on this topic? I PROMISE a drag bike at a dead stop with a motor at full rev and a typical hefty HQ pilot on board is going to put a hurting on something alot more than a mild woods build on dirt tires that spends most of it's time already in motion. If your notching a basket hard core with engine braking. ......maybe you need a slipper style clutch. Or pull the clutch lever sooner and use the brakes more. Just saying. I have no dog in this fight and don't really care. Just discussing...... -

So I need to switch to some solid billet pistons and some small block chevy rods to add weight to my motor so it will have more power when I'm off the throttle and less as it comes up in RPM so the pipe hit on a 45HP motor doesn't scare me. That way I can maintain a more cconsistent power curve from a motor with bad bottom end and a peaky powerband. Is that about right? -
Not a HotRods.....would not hit.
