May I help you? LOL I'm not sure what all the drama is about. I'm following this, but so far it's just a part with potential. My 370 long rod motor might have finally seen it's last ride. I'm trying to decide if I'm going 4mill or doing another 370. If I go 4mill I'll be trying these. What is all the negativity about? These pistons offer intake windows that correct the location specifically for 4 mills. So.....people want to argue that an optimised window location is bad? People want to claim windows aren't even needed? I don't understand the negativity at this point. If I run these I'll still be doing a custom cut dome and setting the motor up right. It will just have a Banshee dome profile and optimised intake windows. With my build I will intentionally give away HP in favor of killer torque. (I'll be using FMF fatty's and keeping the HP in the 65-70 range while focussing on a monster torque curve. So testing isn't going to show a big BRAG NUMBER. I don't understand the pages of debate so far. As usual I'm looking for a piston comparison test to establish the potential improvement. The Nay sayers seem to be knocking something, but they can't stay on topic long enough to make a good point.

Like I said…..Stop fighting the system just to be up there on a holiday. The Long Travels don't focus on holiday weekends. Plan a ride. Pimp it on the sites. All the big bikes show up. Make it an off weekend. No problems. The Little Sahara HQ ride isn't on a holiday. I had ZERO issues getting into the dunes Saturday with 2 trailers and a dune ready truck. Or….show up Thursday, drive your junk out into the dunes, find a nice roped off area of patch of trees and hide your bike till Saturday, Then walk into the dunes like a tourist and ride that drag bike out Saturday evening like a BOSS. We saw three guys who built a deck on the back of a Ski Nautique and tried to do an Amphibious landing from Lake Michigan on a Labor day weekend with 3 - 250/450 dirt bikes. Boat capsized in the breaking waves, boots, gear and bags of chips floating to shore, two guys carrying bikes overhead to the beach….and DNR showing up just as the bikes all hit the beach. ( On the beach side of the boundary markers) LMFAO

Well I'll agree that it's a bitch getting a good sized group together. Everyone has some lame ass excuse why they can't go. Then you bump it to the next weekend hoping more people can make it……in the end NO weekend works. I found making plans WAY in advance kinda forces people to actually make a plan to go. They have plenty of notice to get time off work. (If you can't get a Friday-Saturday-Sunday off with 4-8 months advanced notice….you're not worth a fuck to your employer) If you don't put ride dates on the calendar early……you end up at you're woman's Co-Workers wedding, a Christening, Graduation parties, birthdays for random kids in the family, or a block party. I find the voucher system pretty easy to deal with. We take off work on Friday, drive up to the dunes, park a car/truck/moped in the parking lot voucher line, pull into the dunes and ride. At 9:00 we run over to the truck and drop off however many bodies we need to get trailer vouchers for Saturday. (We get the 7-8 vouchers) Saturday morning we roll into the parking lot around 7:30 and drop our trailers, then roll back into town and hit the breakfast buffet at the Sands, then it's back to the parking lot to get ready to ride. Dunes open at 9:00 and any "Dune Ready" members in our group roll in right away with 9:00-11:00 vouchers. We have trucks loaded and out on the dunes with canopies and chairs set up by 10:00. Then we ride till around 7:30 (If we plan to drive up to Pentwater and hit the "Brown Bear" for monster burgers for dinner) or sometimes we stay and chill on test hill and watch the sun go down (If we're getting a pizza or cooking our own meals in camp.) The ONLY time it's a battle is Holiday weekends. But if you roll into town early enough on Friday….it's not really an issue. (I understand you may have situations that conflict with that. But it's not a horrid ordeal for the average Joe if they are familiar with the system)

Yeah, yeah. Old news. I've done that for years and you harp on me for no showing up on the "Big weekends". LOL. I have dune dates planned and posted in January for the whole season. NONE are big holiday weekends. Why not plan some HQ rides on those dates?

Should have reached out to us. We had room to bring in more bikes. We could have got you a parking voucher since we were about 6th in line Friday night. Or we could have shuttled your stuff in with us on Sunday...... We're going in July. Join us then if you can.

8-10 wide racing all day. Dunes were AWESOME! The rain knocked them down a bit and we were running North to South pinned wide open. Power wheelies down to backs of everything. A little rain scared off the typical tourists. Weather was actually fantastic.

Well.....I was lied too. I usually trust member input here and even though I called this morning, I felt I better check again. Sure enough......the only testing on Friday will be for registered racers. So.....that blows. Guess it's all dunes this trip.

Just called.......they said test and tune Thursday and Friday. I double checked that I don't have to sign up for the race to participate. I hope I don't get disappointed at the gate with a different story. We took the girls to the track last year and they got HOOKED! They have been looking forward to this all winter.........

DON'T DO THIS MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many times does it have to be said? You can "Want to" but that doesn't mean anyone has to help you do something stupid. This has been tried and tested, it's an idea that has spread widely….but it's SHIT! It doesn't matter if you already have the parts, or if they are free, or if your current shocks a blown out, or if your a cheap fucker with no cash……results are the same. It's a CRAP mod! NO it's NOT better than doing nothing. It's worse. Run, run far and never think of this topic again. In the future if anyone mentions it, you can play the roll of the smartest guy in the room by bashing the shit out of the idea,,,,,because you will be 100% right. If anyone you know does the mod….you can feed them a big I told you so as soon as they are done. Does that cover it, or do we need special language for the learning impaired?

I'll be up there with Frankthetank and a few others. We should be out on the dunes about 1:00 on Friday till @ 4:30 then…. We'll be messing around with the dune bikes at the West Michigan Sand Dragway Friday for the test and tune. Then ALL day on Saturday in the dunes. We'll probably have a canopy set up on the north side of the beach dragstrip. (If all this rain rolling thru the midwest hasn't made the dune flooding any worse.) If anyone else is up there….stop by and say HI.

If that was possible, you could charge admission. And I'm not really keeping track of who's who in this back and forth very well.…..and I'm not sure how we got from Steel clutch baskets to YFZ based front ends…..But I'll say this - The NEW YFZ450R (09 and newer) has a wicked sweet front suspension. My buddy did the YFZ450R conversion on his 07 Raptor. He used JD Performance Long Travel aftermarket A-arms MADE to use the long 450R shocks while widening his Raptor to 49.5 inches and now that bike feels 90% as good as an actual YFZ450R. (He and I both also own 09 YFZ450's, so I'm speaking from experience) YFZ450 shocks = Junk YFZ450R shocks = Sweetness Steel Clutch baskets = I don't really care. I have full Hinson units in both my Banshees for years and they are still fine. Banshee motors are like butt holes…….feel free to stick anything you want in yours ….just don't try talking me or anyone else into doing the same thing with theirs. Forgive us for not feeling adventurous.

No...it's a logistical clusterfuck if you don't know the system. That's why I try to play host to people for their first trip. You need forestry spark arrestors, a flag they sell there and about $50 in permit stickers.

Let's put it this way.....it's nice enough than over 1/2 the spaces are rented ALL season with seasonal campers. It's so nice and growing so fast that in 2-3 years there will only be seasonals and we'll have to switch to a new spot.
