trinity pv motor vs stock cyl 4mill
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to sangheraent's topic in General Banshee Discussion
WOW, first time in a while that I've had a chance to vent about Trinity and the masses seem to be in agreement. Sounds like the world is finally up to speed on the dome issues. I know I figured it out the hard way....... As for my opinion on Trinity....that will never change......Raw Chicken! -
trinity pv motor vs stock cyl 4mill
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to sangheraent's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Well, just to get it back on topic. The Title of the post is Trinity PV motor vs stock cylinder 4 mill. So to answer his question...........there isn't a chance in hell that his friends bike is going to beat him. Not because it's not possible to build a strong Cheetah......but because we know Trinity built the one in question. I'll bet it all on the 4 mil stock cylinder bike. Even if it's poorly tuned, jetted pig fat and running a 2 into one exhaust. BUYING FROM TRINITY - It's like eating raw chicken...... Once you do, you regret it for a long time and you really wish you had picked someone who could prepare it correctly. Race him. Keep us posted and try not to run into anything while your looking back counting bike lengths. -
trinity pv motor vs stock cyl 4mill
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to sangheraent's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Cam, please...I say this with respect because I KNOW you have a very powerfull good running Cheetah motor. But Trinity told me my P.V. motor was going to make 115 too. It made 68. So did NICKISGOD's. Same 68HP, so it's not just me. Please stop telling people that are talking about a Trinity package, that they are good motors. They will NOT be strong either in the low end or the high end. My original Trinity P.V. 400 was getting beat by my best friends 350 with FMF's, a 2 into 1 carb and FMF's. You know there dome design is disfuntional. Yes YOU have a good set-up....but it's TOTALY CUSTOM and nothing like the way they ship. Plus your on alky. A 421 serval motor kit from any seller will make better low and high power than a "Trinity" kit. I'm sure other builders can set the cheetah up well. But for the money.....you can't get the 80HP and 50 ft.lbs of torque on gas that you can with the serval. I'll bet it all that the Trinity motor looses even if they swap swingarms. I'd rather have a HJR 4 mill over a Trinity motor. Note the 400 in my screne name. Been there, done that. Learned my lesson. There.....I kept it short. -
Ok, well late last year I saw that backfire on a guy at Silverlake. DNR had a laptop with software that listed pics and styles of every approved silencer. His silencer didn't have the U.S.F.S stamp on the side. Even though he did the screen mod and their probe test acted like it was fine, the guy still checked the list. It showed that the silencer never came with a spark arrestor. (They had pics of every style silencer offered by that manuacturer.) He got lucky because Duneland still had a sparky clamp on arrestor that fit his pipe. It cost him $79 to buy it and get in the dunes. But they don't make those anymore and Duneland's supply is getting to be almost zero. So I would hate to see someone drive 4-6-8 hours and get turned away at the gate. Hell, I had the Trinity spark arrestor tips on my old Trinity pipes and I could NEVER get past the inspection point till at least 2 guards heard my story. (They don't see alot of Trinity pipes. Trinity makes a tip that holds a U.S.F.S screen from a 4 stroke pipe, but they don't STAMP the tips with the U.S.F.S logo because they never paid to have it officialy approved.) One time I had to show them an add for the silencers from dirtwheels just to get them to approve entry. So...I'm not saying...I'm just saying. Roll the dice if you want, but be ready with plan B.

I have a Stellar +10 arched banshee swinger too. Tim's work is second to none. Not many guys do his quality of work PLUS let you custom design what your looking for. He built my +10 with the extra strong spine and added bracing I wanted (After breaking a cheap Ebay "Swingarm Shop arm") So I could ride with confidence. I wish I could scrape up the cash to have him do a total chassis for me. Nothing but good feedback from me regarding Tim.

helmet modification possibly
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to spalding's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I run a soft canvas type case on mine with the clear plastic window. It fits perfect in the front shirt pocket of a botton up work shirt. I face it toward me. So when I need to change a song or adjust the volume, I just stick my thumb inside the shirt in behind the pocket and I can adjust the IPOD thru the cloth of the pocket and even the plastic cover. I do this mostly at work, but even when I'm riding it never bounces out. (Mine is a 60GB with a cloth INCASE cover) -
YZR350 vs. Banshee 350 motor info
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to WINDYCITYJOHN400's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Thank you. That was a very nice answer. I had thought I'd remembered about the tranny gearing being different, but I didn't know anything about how the P.V.s worked. -
YZR350 vs. Banshee 350 motor info
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to WINDYCITYJOHN400's topic in General Banshee Discussion
So.............one guy says he "Googled it" and that they are the same. Another guy says they are very different. Nobody can bother to type WHAT or HOW they are different. No guess as to their value. No answers to any of my questions. Well.........How very helpfull.......... I could get help like this on a Raptor forum. Thanks..... -
YZR350 vs. Banshee 350 motor info
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to WINDYCITYJOHN400's topic in General Banshee Discussion
OK, like I said...not up to speed on them. So, Yeah...I guess I'm talking about an RZ350. I'm pretty sure they only put the Banshee motor in ONE street bike, so I guess it's a RZ350. Got any knowledge of them? -
I just got a hold of 2 old school YZR 350 street bike motors. I'm looking for any info you guys can give me on them. Are the trannys the same or do they have a different ratio? Is that a good thing? Would a pavement dragger want them? Are the cranks and internals the same? What are they worth? I've got 2 that are complete....they look fairly complete, just missing the carbs, intakes, reeds. Both motors have powervalves, but seem to be missing a part that might have mounted to the fame and also connected to the powervalves. School me fellas.......I dodn't want to use them...I'm thinking of parting them (pull top ends and sell seperate, then sell bottom ends as "Banshee bottom ends/cases". Thoughts? Any of you want or need these? guesstimate of value? Thanks.

Priority list, building a screaming engine
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to Banshee-pile's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
It's not the only way to go, but we just did this combo...... FMF FATTY pipes V-Force 3 reeds Chariot cool head with pump gas domes 4 mill crank Vito's Super Stock pistons (simulates porting, only costs $200 US) Stock carbs with 32.5 pilots and 300 mains That combo made 63HP!! (It didn't even have the timing advanced!) Not a bad number for doing that little. A stock style clutch works fine with it. Always room for race gas, more timing, 28 mm flat slides, nicer clutch. We've had GREAT life out of that style Vito's piston. We've got one motor with over 80 hours on them. That motor is making 68HP. The owner is 3rd in points in the Megacross MX series, rides the track like an animal, blasts the Badlands, and was just with us for a long weekend of ripping around on the dunes. It's not the only way to get to mid 60's in HP.......But you'll be hard pressed to do it for this little money. -
Well the weather gods were in my favor....... No rain on the drive up...sunny riding both Friday and Saturday. Had the sweatshirt on in the morning, but took it off before getting out on the dunes. Just a tee under the jersey was all I needed for a perfect ride. Didn't get a drop of rain till the quads were loaded at the end of the day on Saturday. Rained while we got some good food at the Open Harth Grill. Then stopped just before we got back to the hotel and got in the Jacuzzi. I love it when a plan comes together.
-
Truck is loaded. Rain or not.... we're going. (I guess I'll be king of the dunes by default. LOL) 5 Banshees coming with along with an RZR and a few 4x4 quads. You all enjoy the weekend at home.............I'll be the guy out riding with the wind breaker for a ride suit and a poncho that looks like a cape. Hard Core = Ride or GTFO

You can get a 10 mil "Super Serval"! Then you can have 535cc's of Serval performance.

WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to BansheeBoy96's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'm shocked that Trinity let Dirt Wheels do a feature on Duncan. With all the add space and color pages they buy, I would think that Trinity would be upset at Duncan getting all that face time with the readers. I'm sure there will be a big feature soon involving the Trinity Razr mods or another Bling Bike test test ride. Dirt Wheels thinks that Trinity, Duncan and CT are the top builders in the 2-stroke industry. -
One of the guys in my ride group just got the new Moose High output stator. It looked VERY NICE. I don't know who makes them for Moose, but it didn't look like a RS piece of junk. It even came mounted to an adjustable timing plate! I think the whole thing was @ $200.
-
Well start her off with something simple....have her just walk around topless for the weekend. Then if she does well at that you can start looking for a nice quad with blown out shocks for her to bounce around on for a season or two. I've always wanted to go ride in Oklahoma....when's the Graduation? LOL.

Fox Valley Off-Road It's not the badlands...... But Fox Valley is best in the Fall after the leaves drop. (Some of those hill climbs are just a blind shot with the leaves on the trees. Hope nobody is coming down as I'm going up.) Only down side is....with no rain the past few days, all the places might be dusty.

If i could Merry my Bike
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to 10milmike's topic in General Banshee Discussion
quote name='10milmike' timestamp='1315186735' post='1265773'] Wish I could Merry my Shee, It does what I want. And she does not talk back to me. I love my Shee Well having a Banshee is like having another wife. Think about it.......... Your Banshee - Sits around doing nothing all day while you work to suport it. It never askes YOU to ride it.....the "Riding" is always YOUR idea. If it's feeling up to it.....fine ride it if you want. When your in the mood for a ride, it might change it's mind 1/2 way through the ride and just stop. You might spend hours trying to talk it into starting and it might just sit there doing nothing till you figure out how to make it happy. If you do something wrong it gets all mad and blows a gasket. Your Banshee isn't "not talking back to you"....it's ignoring you because it's mad about something you did or didn't do. Every once and a while.....it leaks internal fluids.......sometimes it's spotty....sometimes it's a gusher. When it does...you can't ride it. When your out for a ride, if it heads a different direction than you want....you can scream "No,No,No" but her mind is made up. You want to drink strong pure alky. But she likes mild mixed drinks ( pump gas at 40:1) Your not happy unless your Banshee is lighter and better looking than your best friends Banshee. If your Banshee isn't very good looking....then it better perform better than eveyone elses machines. (It better like being dirty and ridden hard.) Your never happy with one Banshee...you wish you could have a few. If you have the best looking, greatest dune machine...you still wish you had a killer MX ride...get that too and you start thinking about your first Banshee back in High School. (Remember how often you rode that thing, you rode it hard all the time, 2-3 times a day and it never complained, you didn't care how it looked, you were just happy to be riding anything, and looking forward to trying new moves with it each time.) Your banshee is just like a wife....plan a trip to go ride?...... Who's idea was it to plan a trip? Yours. Who's going to load the rig? You Who's going to do all the driving? You. Who's paying? You. Who's going to fix the broken stuff? You. Wanna get some place? You'll get there at her pace. Think your man enough to drive straight thru?....Nope your going to have to stop often for fuids and fuel. Wanna go with your 4 - stroke friends? She doesn't like your lame 4-poke friends and they don't like her high pitched voice. Remember.....NOTHING hurts more than the day you and your Banshee go seperate ways. There is alot of physical pain. It takes you a long time to pick yourself up off the ground. Your both a wreck from quite some time. But you somehow pick up the pieces and move on. Don't worry, you'll find another Banshee with less problems/issues/damage. Meanwhile, think about the new owner of your last Wife/Banshee. Glad your not him right? -
Well crap! I've been wanting to ride with you for a while now.........but our trip is based on it being our Anniversary weekend. So I can't shift it. I do count myself lucky to have a wife who not only loves to ride Banshee's, but also requests to make dune trips for our anniversary. ( I don't know what any of you guys do for your anniversarys....but I think I'm getting off pretty easy.)LOL. Back when we were dating, our anniversary of our first date was on Labor day weekend. So every year we would go to the NHRA U.S. NATIONALS in INDY for the full show. I think it was Wed thru Monday and ALWAYS 95+ degrees! But we tent camped right next to the track and she loved it. (The true gearhead girls are hard to find.) On our August trip to Silverlake I finaly got her a ride in a V-8 sand rail. A 5 seater..."The Black Pearl"....we've got 3 kids....guess who just gave me the green light to start looking into sand rails!

Well, I've let another season fly by. I keep wanting to go try St. Joe. Nobody I ride with is going to try it till one of us goes and checks it out first. Anyone planning to go in early Oct.? (I know that's getting late in the season and might be cold....but I want to give it a shot so I can know if I want to work it into the plans for next year.) Any of you St. Joe regulars going? Would you be willing to let me be your wingman for the weekend so I can see the whole scene? I think it's @ 5 hours for me from Chicago.........I can sleep in van/tent/hotel whatever you guys usually do. I've got room in my ride for anyone from Michigan/Indiana/Illinois who wants to team up and go. ( Crew Cab chevy - 3 place open trailer )

I'm making my usual late September trip to Silverlake on Sept 23-24-25. My typical group will be going along with some fresh faces. Anyone intersted in joining in....if the weather is good? (I'll be up there even if it isn't....Rain or shine, I'll ride. I just might need the windbreaker. LOL) NOTE: Great rates at the Sierra Sands - It's off peak pricing.
