  1. That's some hard core mods......fitting a Banshee crank into a blaster motor. Does that make the bike instantly "Scary Fast"?
  2. I used to run the amsoil in the 40:1 version. I haven't run the Saber 100:1 stuff, but a friend did on his Honda 250R. Two top ends later he decided that he wasn't a big fan. I'd stick with your basic 40:1 type synthetics. I run Torco GP7 and have been very happy with it for 7+ years. I didn't realize just how dirty the Amsoil burned till we did a dyno session with my wife's bike. I did some runs and got low on fuel. One of my other friends was running the Amsoil mixed at 40:1 with the same 110 fuel. So we toped off her tank with his fuel. The next pass we had a noticeable amount of smoke coming out of the pipes and were wondering why it had increased so much. Till we realized it was the oil. Now he's running the GP7 and fouling a lot less plugs per season. I wouldn't chase the thinner oil mixtures. There have been numerous posts about how you can actually make MORE power with more oil. I'd say that running a good 40:1 oil is the way to go. Any good brand of synthetic will do. (unless you run alky...that's a whole different need.) Some will burn cleaner than others, but I think they will ALL do a very good job of protecting the motor.
  3. Yeah, I was going to say it has to be fuel related. Because my 472-485-492 cheetah has gone through a lot of different configurations from un-ported to full drag porting to lowered dune timings and they all liked the Small bore pipes over the big bores. (I'm on 110 race fuel.) With over 50 dyno runs I had pretty much nailed that choice down. But I don't run alky...so I can definitely see where that fuel choice would change the test parameters. That's why it's always good to know what the other guy is doing which HIS bike, when you get advice about what you should do with YOUR bike.
  4. Do you run a lot of timing and compression with your build?
  5. Glad I could be of service.
  6. Small bore shearers FTW. No need to guess, I've already tested BB CPI's, BB Shearers and SB Shearers. Small bores make the same peak top power as the BB's, but have better front side torque. They even made better low end torque than the CPI's. The only pipe better than the Shearer SB In-Frames for that motor.....is the Shearer SB Out of Frames. The "New design" Shearer OOF pipes will make about 5 more HP and about 3 more torque. My buddy "MAILMAN" did a test of a lot of the OOF pipes against some in frames. ( Different sizes of CPI - RDZ - Shearer. Some In some out.) 521cc and smaller - Small Bore Shearer's. In Frame or out is up to you.
  7. Cool. I might be able to do that Badlands date. Are you planning to camp, stay over and ride both days?
  8. Well....come around more often. And yes those are good numbers for what you have had done. Should be a nice ride.
  9. obviously. Maybe he'll try posting this in the dyno section next......along with some dyno numbers for us to talk about. Maybe even a picture of the runs.
  10. I think you just needed NEW ends. I liked the HD tie rods that Moose sells......but a buddy clipped a tree the other day and his HD tie rods didn't bend...... but the steering flag at the base of his steering stem and his spindle did! Sure would have been better if he had the tie rods as the weak link. Now he's got to pull a steering stem, pull a hub, brakes, spindle and replace the bent stuff. Plus he's still going to have to do an alignment. So all the same effort as if the tie rod had broke, pus LOTS MORE. Glad you weren't hurt bad.
  11. #1 put some gay colored shock covers on it. #2 put a getto wheelie bar on it. #3 Just add Trinity stickers. Or move some place with a shed/garage.
  12. A "Miss fire/back fire at the top" is called a "Lean Pop" That's running on the edge.
  13. NOTE: If you have 35mm carbs, just put a 1" fitting on the ends at the intakes and it will fit perfect. (35mm is the same as the O.D. of a 1" PVC fitting.) Also if you have a motor without the crossover tube, you could just substitute the elbow in the design for a tee and make it a one piece design. I wouldn't do any more with paint, cause it makes it hard to glue adapters on down the road with the painting in place. (But they sure look a lot more professional when they are painted.) LOL.
  14. 3 top ends and 2 cranks?..........You better check your float height and go up a couple of main jet sizes. That may not be your problem...but can you afford NOT to? You can't keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result. What have you checked? Squish, ring gaps, piston clearances......does the piston hit the head at high RPM? Running the correct thickness base gaskets, Air leaks, fouled carbs, clogged gas cap breather, dirty filters, leak in your air box connection, dirt getting past the filters, are you boring cylinders and never re-chamfering the ports? Bad pipe connection at the motor. (Remember a bad pipe connection is an air leak.) Ticks in a motor can be normal....but not if it always leads to a BOOM later.
  15. WOW I saw that listed in the local craigslist. I didn't read down to the part about the 95MPH wheelie. Once I saw the wheelie bar..... That was as far as I needed to read. Galactic Dumbass! I should offer him his asking if he can repeat that amazing feat.
  16. X2 I start by running all my air boxes out to the dumpster. Quickly followed by the TORS system The Key assembly The stock design carrier/swingarm And the dumbo ear front fenders
  17. X2 !!! Look at that coupe....I didn't have to say a thing. The truth lives on. NOSS FTW!
  18. The air strikers work well on 2-1 intakes. They have a little riser throttle response because they amplify the intake signal at the face of the jets. They aren't the crab you would pick for a drag motor, but not a bad pick for a 2-1. Jetting choices will be the same as a standard PWK.
  19. Come on guys....he joined yesterday for crying out loud.....don't flame him this quick.
  20. 499cc "Beach drag bike" with nothing but an aftermarket pipe? What pipe is on this 500cc beast?...stock carbs still? Sounds more than questionable......
  21. OK, DEK is a good needle for 2 into 1 set-ups. Try the 180 main for starters and plug chop form there.
  22. you might want to try a 180 in it and do a plug chop from there. 168 might be a little lean. You didn't say what needle size your running....CEL...DEK?
