  1. Two things that video proves. #1 the guy on the 250 is clearly a better rider through the whoops. #2 the camera guy and the people in that suzuki group are a bunch of dorks.
  2. I like the KFX
  3. I ran my new 21x12x8 8 paddle extremes over the weekend (Gordons Well) and they hook up great! I had to take off in 1st or the bike would bog down in 2nd gear starts, unless I totally revved the shit out of it. The bike felt quicker every where and was carrying more speed up the hill too. The 20x10x10 would slide and fish tail around alot better, but I'd rather have the hook of the new tires. Now I know why I was sometimes getting beat by lesser bikes.
  4. The sidewinder shell gas station sells them for $25 a week and $90 a season just like normal. Sidewinder road about 4 miles east of buttercup off the 8. KD Cycle in yuma also has them for the reg. price also.
  5. Yerp he's right. I seen it.
  6. 14 is stock. What wheels will you be running with the sand stars?
  7. I would run a 13 or 14.
  8. California residents have to have the green sticker. Non residents only have to have proof of registration and it must be displayed. Zip tie your RV plate to the grab bar (not in your camel back) Thats all you need.
  9. Thats it, I'm going with the 21X12X8 8 paddle extremes. I'll let the board know how I like em after thanksgiving weekend. Thanks fellas.
  10. I don't think it matters where the stator sits on the plate. It's the pick up on the plate that controls the timing. If you have the stock timing plate and the mounting holes are slotted on that, I think you can only get about 3* or 4* out of it max.
  11. I'm buying 21x12x8 extremes, I just don't know if I want 8, 9, or 10 paddles. I thought I was set on the 10's, until I got off the phone with a sand tire distributer. They recommended the 8 paddle, and said I wouldn't be able to keep the front end down with my swinger. The guy was very knowledgeable and ask me a lot of questions, so I'll prolly go with what he said. I loved the way my 20x10x10 reg 8 haulers duned, but I'm looking for some more bite for the hill I'd like to see how some others feel about this. I'm 210 lbs 4 mil cub 85hp? +4 swinger 50/50 dune/drag
  12. If you guys are having trouble contacting them, I can stop by there and ask them any questions you have. There less than a mile from my house.
  13. need paddles for the shee.
  14. Word x2. There in my area. They can do whatever you need. I almost went to work for them not too long ago. Good place.
  15. We have one reserved for this weekend, from this site http://www.luv2camp.com/ Tell them were your camping and they drop it off for you.
  16. Good question. I have an untrained eye when it comes to looking at dyno graghs. I emailed them asking this question and heres the reply. "It is due to the sensitivity of the Dyno and how it measures. it measures the speed of the rotating drum twice per every revolution and between some of the measurements the motor may have an extra engine pulse + a tire out of balance or round. this is common on a single cylinder running on a sensitive Dyno".
  17. We'll be in wash 4. Not taking the Banshee. I'll be on the only black KFX450 in the whole place!
  18. You can try D&M in Glendale, but there probably swamped right now. Jerry Hall just tuned my KFX on his dyno. He's very knowledgeable and is a very nice guy to talk to. What ever you do stay away from OHTON RACING!!!
  19. All the jap 450's make about the same HP. At the dunes last weekend my KFX was noticibly quicker (about 5-6 bike lengths through 5th gear) than my buddies 08LTR, 06YFZ and 06TRX which they all have slip on's and K&N filters with stock intake tube with lid removed. With full exhaust and after market intake tube like I have, I'd imagine they would be right with me. I don't think the fuel injection would make any more power over a carburated bike, the FI just makes it more consistent at different elevations and temps.
  20. I just called to ask him that and he said it's both.
  21. So thats a 4 mil cub engine in there?
  22. The KFX's are fuel injected and have an air temperature and an air pressure sensor in the intake tract that sends data to the ECM to make the minor adjustments in temp and elevation changes. The ECM on these bikes are only "smart" enough to adjust within a certain parameter. Adding a pipe and intake, takes the bike out of the stock operating parameter, so you add the Power Commander which is a piggy back programmer that plugs inline with the ECU and fuel injecter and intercepts the signal from the air sensors in the intake and add or subtract fuel. A custom dyno tune is really the only way to go on fuel injected bikes.
  23. For those of you that are interested, I installed a full DASA pipe, FCI intake and a Power Commander 3. I used the generic map as a basline, then had them tweak the air/fuel so this map is specific to my bike now. The 3rd pic shows the tuning at the 9 different throttle positions possible, so it's not a WOT tune only. These bikes make about 36-38 whp stock.
  24. $150+ shipping both sets of cylinders and 2 RS plates. I'd like to get rid of these this week! Thats my gas money to the dunes! I do have a paypal account.
  25. I'm headed out to Buttercup the following weekend 9th-12th.
