  1. Sale pending on Cascade cover...
  2. So I bought a set of used extended A-arms and they don't fit for $hit so I need some measurements. They had nice bronze bushings in them but due to the fitment issues I had to knock them out and hacked them up pretty good doing so. Here's a list of measurements I need if someone feels like humoring me a bit. I would prefer the arms themselves be measured WITHOUT bushings... Uppers- width of tube that mounting bolt goes through and inside diameter of tube where bushings go Lowers- width of both tubes where bolts go through, inner spacing between tubes, overall width from outside of one tube to another Bushings- inner diameter and outer diameter The main reasoning for all of this is because I don't know what brand these arms are and the shafts that the bolts go through are thicker than the stock shafts so I'm in kind of a bind partly because of this. I want to put the stock shafts in because I have a brand new set but I'm not sure about the OD of the stock bushings being able to fit into these no-name arms I have. And as for the mounting widths, these don't line up so I'm gonna have to hack them a bit to make them fit like they should. And to think I gave up a dang nice set of stock arms for these...
  3. We had a guy take one off one time and he heated the end of the crank and around the middle if the flywheel all while taking a pry bar and putting pressure on the flywheel between it and the case. After he got it heated to his liking he started hitting the end of the crank sharply (with the nut on of course) and after about 3 hits it came right off. Of course this was on a motor that needed a rebuild but I don't see why you couldn't do it on any motor as long as you were extremely careful.
  4. supposed to be 60+ Sunday, time to get the R1 out and get the knees down.

  5. New clutch basket on the way, will hopefully be firing it up for the first time in 5 years very soon...

  6. Also have a really nice set of rear hubs, near perfect condition. $35 shipped to the contiguous 48.
  7. Bought this from runDMC and it wouldn't fit over my Chariot Ultra High Flow impeller cover so I'm just trying to pass it on. It will however fit over a stock impeller cover or any aftermarket impeller cover that doesn't protrude out like the Chariot does. It will be shipped in a USPS small Flat Rate box. The price is $30 shipped firm. That's what I gave for it and what I want to get back out of it.
  8. Why do things go wrong just when it seems they are starting to go right?

  9. Got a good clutch basket? EDIT: Sorry I should read more carefully next time lol.
  10. Ok you've got my attention, is there a "how-to" on how to replace them or is it pretty simple? I'd rather get by as cheap as I can so if I can just change the cushions I'll do that.
  11. I need a good stock clutch basket and have some stuff to trade, anyone?

  12. The gear on my current clutch basket started slipping after I got the hub nut torqued down so I'm in need of another clutch basket that the gear doesn't slip on, something that someone has actually used personally and can halfway guarantee that it won't slip. I have some parts to trade if you're interested just let me know by PM, email ([email protected]), etc.... Chris On second thought maybe I should've put this in the "wanted" section or maybe not, I'm not sure. Mods feel free to move if need be.
  13. Sounds like the inserts in the gas tank are turning in their holes if that's what you're talking about. IMO I'd grind the head off of the bolt so you can get the plastics off at least and start looking for another tank. This is one of those pieces that you'd rather undertighten than overtighten just for the possibility of breaking loose the inserts. Again, just my 2 cents.
  14. What year is the bike?
  15. Any chance you'd separate the front calipers from the rest?
  16. Traded to chevybanshee91... Thank you very much.
  17. Like the title says, I need a stock grille in mint condition. I bought a set of plastics and had this grille with them (see pic below). I already have a mint Alba grille that I may or may not run but I don't need this one for sure. It is nice and polished but does have some scratches that could easily be polished out with some elbow grease. It's just not on my priority list so I cleaned it up with extra fine steel wool for about ten minutes and left it alone. I'd like a MINT CONDITION black stock grille if you have one you wanna trade hit me up. I've got a nice big USPS envelope to keep shipping down to a minimum. I'll pay shipping to you, you pay shipping to me, even swap.
  18. +1 on the 3/8" torque wrench and 3" extension with short socket. Of course I did mine out of the frame so it was naturally easier but you just gotta have a feel for it. Use a strong hand to monitor the slippage of the socket on the nut so you don't bust your knuckles, and a careful hand to keep from doing a backflip if the socket does slip off. In short, it's a tedious process with a torque wrench but if you want to do it the correct way that's how.
  19. Any chance you'd do just the calipers? I've already got brand new lines and master cylinder I just need the calipers, only need one really...
  20. If I had your money I'd burn mine bud.
  21. Exactly why I keep one around. And to the OP, yes $25-30 is about the max you'll get out of it. I actually had a guy refuse to sell me one because he said he could get more out of it at a scrap yard than what I offered him, imagine that huh...
  22. Try lubing the cable and see what it does. Mine went together perfectly without cutting the springs and feels just like it did when it was stock. We had to cut nearly 3 coils out of the springs on my brother-in-law's 'shee to get the throttle to feel a bit better. It would give your forearm cramps to work the throttle. He also said it did helped a ton when he sprayed the cable with some WD-40.
