  1. As far as selling them goes, this was kinda a weird deal where I bought the Pingel and the guy said it would come with the plate and turned out it didn't. It's inlet is 3/8 NPT which is, I think, the larger size versus the normal 1/4 NPT that the ones for specific applications are. So as I said above when no one showed any interest in it I decided to create a drawing for my own which leads me into the cost issue. Technically this was the prototype so to speak and since I created the drawing myself it was free to me from the machine shop across campus. I really couldn't say how much they, or I, would charge to have a bunch made to sell or what kind of copyright/patent infringement would occur if I did. The problem here is the only reason I had my own made is because the dude I bought it from left out the plate. Otherwise by the time you buy your own Pingel without a plate and buy one of these you're approaching the cost of what you could buy the whole Pingel kit for. But on the lighter side of things, if anyone is interested in one I guess just pm me and I'll see what I can do. I will guarantee though that it will not be $40 shipped like Pingel wants. Btw thanks for the compliments!
  2. So I've been trying to sell my drag Pingel with 3/8" NPT inlet and when no one nibbled I decided to keep and use it. I went to order the adapter plate/mount from Pingel for it at $26. I was kinda surprised that it was that much to start with but I needed one so I commenced to pay for it when I found out that Pingel not only wanted the 26 bones for the part but they wanted another 14 for shipping. I'm pretty sure you could ship a hundred or more in a small flat rate box for $5 so pricing one at $14 was ridiculous and absurd. I decided to draw up plans for my own custom one and show it off. I got the piece back from the machine shop Monday and it's perfect . Just a little gasket material and teflon and it's ready to go!
  3. Sorry fellas, just now getting a chance to get back on here. It's kinda relieving that there aren't any out in the market to speak of so it encourages me to have my own made. Right now I'm in the middle of a drafting program where I'm specializing in mechanical drafting so I think I'm gonna try to create a rough sketch and some CAD drawings for some custom-fabbed guards for my A-arms. There is a welding class just across campus so I should be able to get them done fairly quick once I get some measurements and a good drawing done. I'll update the thread once I get some more info. As for now here is a pic of my current A-arms, I have no idea who makes them. I bought them as used ASRs but I have since emailed them with pictures and they won't claim them so who knows... That's the best pic I could get with them unfortunately already being installed.
  4. I'm sure it's been discussed to death but can someone point me in the correct direction for proper guards/skids for a set of +2+1 A-arms? Thanks in advance, Chris.
  5. Negative, 6 springs always but you can 3 and 3, or 3 stock and 3 aftermarket. You could possibly run 2-2-2 which is 3 springs of different pressures alternated but I've never heard of it and I don't know how it would affect the assembly and/or the balance of it. Personally I'd stick with 3 and 3 unless you have some huge power. Are you sure your clutch itself is ok and not fried? Try lubing the cable as well, not with "oil".
  6. Just back from Cape Canaveral, man what a rush!

  7. $15 shipped to 38572 for the on/off switch? If so PM me with info.
  8. Let me know what you have. Must be in good condition, unmolested. I don't want any hackjobs. Chris
  9. I need a nice on-off/headlight switch for a '97-01. PM me with what you have.

  10. 16cc domes and Toomey filter and vents sold! Still available are... rear carrier and swingarm crank kickstart gear mechanism front shocks cool head domes 15, 18, and 22cc sets- I have to keep either the 18s or 22s so if one set sells the other will be taken down also Cascade water pump/side cover All other details and prices are in previous posts ^^^...
  11. Thanks "makemefaster" for the wiring harness. Looking forward to finally getting to ride.

  12. Thank you very much. Yes you are correct, no vent window so it's definitely a '68. Sorry OP lol.
  13. Sorry for the delay. That's about the best I could do.
  14. Good to hear man. Stock rubber lines only last so long and for the extra strength and good looks of the braided lines you can't go wrong!
  15. I'm not real sure. My original one had a rectangular connector with 5 terminals and a black/white wire off to the side with a male bullet connector. Hope that helps.
  16. I am in need of a nice '97 wiring harness and headlight/kill switch for my 'shee. I have some stuff for trade like cool head domes, Cascade water pump/side cover, '06-style headlights in great condition, and a few other things I may part with. Let me know if interested, Chris.
  17. I just f-d up my '06 wiring harness because I thought it would work with my '97 stuff so now I give up. It won't work with my headlights, my headlight/kill switch, my key switch, and lord knows what else. So I'm needing a nice, unmolested wiring harness for a '97 along with the headlight/kill switch. I also have some parts for trade listed in the "trade" section if interested in that instead. I'm putting all of my wiring back to '97 specs and leaving it alone. Let me know what you have, Chris.
  18. I hate wiring, anyone got a nice '97 harness they wanna sell?

  19. Well just an FYI to everyone, I tried wiring everything up today and the '97 kill/headlight switch will NOT hook up to the '06-style harness... I ended up having to hack the harness up anyway.
  20. Still available are: rear carrier and swingarm Toomey filter and airbox vents crank kickstart gear mechanism front shocks cool head domes 15,16, 18, and 22cc sets Cascade "skull" water pump/side cover, great shape, painted a charcoal metallic color, could easily be stripped and polished to a mirror shine. $30 shipped to 48 states Pair of the later-style plastic lens headlights. Has flat 3-wire connector. One has a rub on the side (pictured), the other has some kind of small rub or something on the lens (pictured). Other than that they are in great shape. $50 shipped to the 48 states All other details and prices are in first post...
  21. Awesome, thanks fellas. Gonna try to tackle the wiring tomorrow and try to get this thing fired off Sunday or Monday since it's supposed to be nice out.
  22. You are a lifesaver... Or a money saver in my case lol. I've already got an aftermarket LED tail/brake light that I have to hard-wire in so if I'm reading correctly everything I have should work right?
  23. I love my HDs so much I haven't ridden on them yet...
