  1. You might wanna rebuild and figure out why it messed up. If a piston goes to pieces your gonna have to split the cases to get the metal out.
  2. perhaps a n-down 1-5 duneable with 15/41 gearing would be better. at least 20" rear tires would be a must though. Only reason i wouldnt want anything with a manual(clutch) last gear or two is forgetting what gear you are in. With all of them clutchless you can just upshift till it wont shift up anymore. But for a lot of 55-60+ mph riding id want 6th. I went play around yesterday on my 19" holeshots and not having 6th sucked big time!
  3. Only reason i stick with stock jugs is i dont like cubs due to it's drag ported. but i guess with dunes, mid range power isnt too important
  4. Damn bud. Sorry i couldnt get to ya faster. Work has been busy. Havent logged in since the 17th. Anyways. yeah i fought with that problem for about 3-4 months off and on. I went ape shit on my bike. Drilled the vent on the fuel cap, dual pingel, replaced all sorts of electronic bs. A new cdi. Turned out one of my bowls where getting drained due to improper float height adjustment. You might want to drill two extra holes where the float needle goes. That will help too. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=115422&st=15 Oh and be careful on where your fuel line connects to the carbs. The brass inlet isnt too big and regular fuel line tends to leak if you dont use a small zip tie. A few like Savage420(i think his name is) uses a small hose clamp. I tried that and they always leaked. So i use a small zip tie. The little clip didnt work at all either pictures below. http://mrcodeman.net/images/banshee3%205-18-09-carb%20problem.gif
  5. You can make the engine's power band hit late to the point it's a drag port which sucks balls for anything but drag racing imo. Which is why i am still on stock cylinders. I hate how a drag port feels. And yes, spinning is a big deal when it comes to the banshee world and drag racing anything. You gotta get off the line. That's why i have the tires i do. With a good port job and supporting mods, IMO you will walk your average bolt on 4 stroke. However, if you arent getting out the hole good enough, you will be playing catch up. Im not real great at driving, i just dump the clutch. Either i take off awesome or the front comes up if it hooks hard. I refuse to stretch my bike. 300' you needa get off the line like a beast. The strong point(top end) of a banshee isnt used. So set up comes more into play. And since you dont wanna a drag bike.....good luck.
  6. port job /thread. And you can mill your stock head for a lot cheaper. However, i love my cooling head for the changeable domes.
  7. My bike is a sleeper imo. It's a 4mil on stock cylinders. Has an override. Geared for drag racing. Stock swingarm. However, rolling on pro wedge 2's(needed for traction) isnt fooling anyone. And when my bike goes up against 4 stroke drag bikes, my bike gets owned.
  8. Damn my money was on the raptor
  9. Beautiful truck and IMO the stock rims are one of the best you can get for it. Those black rims are ugly. They look ghetto and makes me think you act for lack of better words "ghetto. When i see guys in new chevys with big ghetto rims, it makes me think they are trying to hard to be cool.
  10. My last one split, that happens on occasion. However, due to my gearing and riding habits, i dont wanna use more clutch to take off so i chose not to get my current one lightened.
  11. IMO the best thing to do is talk to the builder you go with and see which port job will suit your riding.
  12. damn right. Nothing more fun than the front coming up as the rear breaks loose and the bike starts to go to one side. woop woop. And i used to hate playing catchup like that mikenick. Now i rock pro wedges
  13. Yeah I don't see a reason not to have n-down
  14. Clutch is adjusted right, groves on the basket, eccentric screw adjusted right, good trans oil, too much hp, clutch is good can all effect it. Then you can get a modded shift star, mess with the shift shaft so it gets more "throw" and remove dogs(i think it's called) from each gear which requires machine work. Then the last resort is an override but some believe that's over kill.
  15. How does a cooling head compare to a lightened flywheel?
  16. There's a lot of people who port, choose one. A lot do great work. You dont need a cooling head. You can get your stock one shaved down. Stock carbs are fine. However, if you do feel you want to spend money on carbs that you dont need, whoever is porting your engine can tell you what works best with HIS set up. You wanna keep this bike on pump gas or you willing to run race fuel?
  17. A budget......i knew i forgot something!
  18. You can lose peak hp or tq while you gain the other. However the power under the curve changes. Peak power isn't important, power under the curve is.
  19. I run the cheap stuff from Lowes. Works fine and I accept it won't last. Idc if I gotta change it every so often.
  20. The only reason I went with stock cyliders is because I didn't want the power delivery of a drag port. As for porting, depends who's you swing from. A lot of good builders out there.
  21. my f150 came stock with clear corners, must be rice eh. I do get my moods when I don't like it though. On a serious note, a person should do what they want on their ride. Trying to please others is an endless battle.
  22. hahahaha
  23. that made me lol. And if it is the same company, they dont come with silencers
