You dont bore out a 2 stroke to make it faster. You only bore out usually to repair a harmed cylinder.
I hear that all the time from ignorant 4 stroke people.
CPI's are good pipes. Very high in demand and can offer some good money if you chose to get rid of them. They arent really best for non ported engines. However, they will work fine. And if you never had much time on a bike with anything else, you probably wont notice the difference. The pipes(along with other factors but pipes are very important) determine how the powerband acts.
CPI's are more of an inframe drag pipe. They will rev higher than toomey's but come on(by come on i mean when the powerband hits) a little later in the rpm range.
Before you start ordering all sorts of goodies, just take time to get acquired with your new machine. Enjoy it, make sure all your fluids are ok. Check for loose screws etc. You can learn a lot from these forums but anything you have questions about feel free to ask. Sometimes, people might unwillingly give you false info. But that's on any forum. Luckly, one of us will steer you right.
Now on to porting. It's one of the best mods for your money you can do. There's many companies who do it. Some people including myself chose to swing from a builders nuts due to satisfaction of their work etc. Research and go from there. Again, enjoy the bike as is before tearing it down to get the cylinders ported.
Welcome to HQ and thank you VERY much for serving our country!
