  1. I guess the added size of the motor out weights the cons of the Raptor's weight when comparing it to a yfz450. Nearly $2500 for a 70rwhp raptor is sick. That shall be my first 4 stroke play bike then.
  2. what does a stock a-arm'ed banshee and raptor 700 weigh? Also do aftermarket swing arms, lighter axels and wider a-arms help a lot with weight reduction on a banshee? I'm debating shedding some weight on mine while i do a rebuild.
  3. Ported banshee VS a stock raptor? IMO if you can drive and HOOK you will win. I hope a fast racing port isnt a drag port since you have T5's.
  4. I said wrong direction, not info. If you mean rare by the stock plastics or frame combo, then i guess you can consider yourself right. But lets not go on about that. But like others said, besides plastics/frame color, they are all the same besides the first couple years which were J-Arm front suspension and not A-arm. There's also the little things like different plugs for stators, CDI and the brake lights. Those im not sure off. Find the best deal you can regardless of year. Id personally go with an a-arm bike so suspension upgrades will be easier and more widely available.
  5. listen to this guy. As for the rest of you, why arent yall helping? If he doesnt want to research for himself, there's no need to streer him in the wrong direction with his hard earn money. It's pretty childish.
  6. Mine lasted about 3 years of abuse before the top end went. Reliable it was.
  7. Get the pan cake bearing from cascade. It's cheap insurance so you won't have to split the cases because the ball/rod welded together.
  8. Hold it WOT and try shifting up without the clutch. If it isnt like butter, the answer is no. Or pull the motor out and split the cases with the engine upside down(that way the juggs dont have to come off). But then you need to know what to loko for like modded shift drum etc depending on type of over ride). I totally forgot how my n-down 1-5 no 6th differs from my stock trans. I just remember the shift drum was modded big time.
  9. I run a Vito's under cover sling shot lockup with 3 regular/HD springs. Works fine. I'm 99% sure you will make more power but you can just add more balls to the lockup.
  10. Mics do need calibration so it might of not been you.
  11. Dont forget all the mods that will be needed to make the bike get all the power to the ground. Dyno numbers are nice but putting it all down race after race is another. Overrides, lockup clutches etc. All fun stuff depending on your riding style.
  12. It's been done many times.
  13. No way id threw a non for giving 1-6 override in a bike unless it was an asphalt drag bike only.
  14. You can use a small impact gun to loosen/tighten the nut on the clutch basket. When building a new motor, i like to have solder to measure my squish. I work in a machine shop getting a set of calipers to measure that is easy too. I also own a set of ID mics to measure bore etc. That's not really needed though.
  15. That's pretty much what i have, a 4 mil with a broad power band. It's a very fun bike. I slap on some pro wedge 2's for some strait line fun.
  16. What type of riding you do? I would go the other way and do suspension first. I rather a more pleasant bike to ride in the roads/open road than more power.
  17. I meant porter. We cant edit post any more here?
  18. call up HJR. He should know best what carbs will do what you want. 30oko's here. my ported recommended them to me. And they perform as he said they would.
  19. Practice. That's it. There's videos of ghetto folks on youtube throwing back a stock or close to stock banshee as long as they want.
  20. When he means not lifting, he means he has to use the clutch. Correct me if I'm wrong. Other wise, it's an override.
  21. How much does that cost^?
  22. There is nothing close to an override. One you try it, you'll see why.
  23. Is recommend a dunable n-down 1-5 over ride with no 6th. I love mine. There's no reason you need 6th when geared right. I trail ride, play around and drag race. Works like I got it 3 years ago.
  24. You need to practice. There's nothing we can do for you. Practice. If you prefer to wheelie in the power band, it's going to be less violent the higher gear you are in. If out the power band, the higher the gear the less engine braking you have. Cover that bake brake. Train yourself to correct it from going too far back. Practice. At least it isnt a dirtbike and you flip over backwards.
