  1. What kick starter is on the engine in page 1? I just got one in the mail that's beat to shit from a hq fb member and if i like it, i may order a new one or a better type.
  2. Looks kinda like my cascade seat I had made for my bike. Very nice. Hopefully the seat flows with the plastics in the front as well.
  3. You said tricky hills then mentioned bottom end power. So I assume you need to slip the clutch on slower stuff. It will slip just like it did before. You'll be fine.
  4. You do not need to worry about needing to shift as quick like a stock clutch. You don't drag race for money or anything serious like that.
  5. When I first did my 4 mil, it slipped. Override didn't even want to up shift. I put a sling shot and kept that clutch and it worked until the engine went 3-4 years later. Lockups work.
  6. I put a little over half with my old 4mil and it was fine. But I assume the engine as far weaker than most 4mil. I run all the balls now and it's fine. If you need to see how much you need to mod the inside of the cover, I've got pictures in my serval build thread. I had to do it again when I bought a polished cover. More balls doesn't make too much of a difference in pull, rpms make the most difference. You are fighting what it's doing.
  7. Gotcha.
  8. If your clutch pull isn't too hard, why bother with a lockup? Unless it will when you hit the dunes
  9. Love my sling shot! No one knows I have one unless they ride the bike or I tell them.
  10. What's motowoz compare to in price with Elka stage 3's for something somewhat equal?
  11. So what I get from this is, ignorant people such as myself who have Elka shocks, are likely to be valved wrong and I don't even know it.
  12. The wrinkle coat stuff looks great. The logo/writing on the heads, not so much.
  13. ^ 421 serval and decent suspension will make for one hell of a reliable FUN bike.
  14. Dont forget carbs(your current carbs may be fine), pipes(depending on what pipes you already have), cool head, GOOD clutch. There's also the chassis. You want the chassis to hook. And at a high power level, you need good tires. A supporting vendor can help you on the drive train. The suspension section here helped me figure out what i needed for my serval from previous post.
  15. How you get more torque easier using the same fuel? Stroke correct?
  16. If the OP is riding somewhat tight trails, a big 521 serval is too much. But it can be done just putt putting around. Has sniper pipes been dynoed against other pipes yet? I know control's 521 serval is about to. A lock up is HARD to shift under wot. However if it's just for fun, just let off the gas and shift slow and let the bike do its thing. A pro mod is what you need if you aren't building a bike to mostly drag. Since trails were mentioned, there is no way I put a peaky Cub in the bike. I have video of me giving my bike more throttle very slowly increasing to show when the power band starts to come on. Hard to understand or get a feel for it via video though I have a 521 serval but that's a lot more expensive than the 421 you are building. I do not understand how rider weight effects power in these bikes so I can't say you need a bigger than a 421 serval. I do have shearers on my bike and it does pull hard up top. I recently made a top end pull on video Sunday. It did not strain much in 5th and 6th and it didn't fall off at 8.5-9krpms. I do not know if smaller serval pull on top or fall off in power. I've seen dyno charts but can not related to the butt dyno with that. That is why I talked to supporting vendor to do my engine work and set up before I spent any money.
  17. You can still use the stock clutch lever and perch.
  18. ^ bam. Where's my commission. Oh wait, it's knowledge here. I'm glad to see someone get's it. Thank you for giving back to the forums. I probably wouldnt of bought nor kept my bike for this long without HQ.
  19. Sure you can, become a supporting member
  20. Just got back from a good ride. Love the new gearing. Goes to show you a great example of each person is different.
  21. Says the guy sold his serval for a one pass at a time drag bike.
  22. Never opened then up to see. I assume they came packed. I'll check.
  23. I want a set of their silencers to quiet my bike down but they won't make any more. I may get in touch with LED to see if he can make quieter silencers. BBIF shearers are freaking loud.
