when you say not the nbest of shape but usable do you mean the carbs or cabels? if you just mean the cabels my buddy toomeysheele has a brand new set of 28pwk's used them for like 3 rides then had some problems with his motor and has sent it away to jeff at fast to get some port work done so he was looking for some bigger carbs. honestly they are like brand new he also has them posted in the forsale forum Toomeysheele is his name

sometime if you tap on the bowls with the end of a screw driver it will fix the problem but its only for a short time take the carbs off and clean the float valve
-

yamaha04 replied to Ozzy87's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
are you running race fuel? 50/50 if not it could be detonating -
well the ktm motor thats in the new outlaws would be badass but have you ever tryed to work on a predetor or outlaw. F#$K THAT. you have the take half the plastics off then the tank just to get at the sparkplug. oh yeah and just taking the plastics off is no easy takes they use or did use both metric and standard size bolts and nuts so it a guessing game but anyway the IRS i dont really like but whatever you will get whatever you want. the only thing about the new outloaw is that ktm 525

Installing noss head and broke a stud
yamaha04 replied to RIPRuck's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
im pretty sure the tread parrten should be the same as the top because when you tighing it you dont want to stud to losen so it would have to be the same way . hard to explain but i hope you know what im saying. lefy losey right tighty -
well if one cylinder is lower by 5 or 10 psi i think then you need new piston and rings, bore or hone depending on what the cylinders look like, if both really low below 100psi then again new piston and rings , bore or hone. depending on cylinders. oh yeah if the cylinders look good and you can still see hone marks some people just put new rings on there pistons and through it back together but myself i would put new pistons and rigs and hone at the least

anyone have a kodiak clymers that would be able to check and see the mim belt thickness. i sunk the whole front end on my grandpas and got the belt wet. when i took it apart and cleaned everything the belt looked good but when i put it back together it seems to be slipping. not 100% sure if it is slipping might be just in my head but if i could get the thikness i would know if the belt is trashed . oh yeah yamaha said they have never order one and have never installed one yet so he could really see how it would be wore. i though it was a crock of shit because on skidoo's you ussualy replace them every year. well i do anyway

Installing noss head and broke a stud
yamaha04 replied to RIPRuck's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
if it broke off flush with your head then take the head off and use some vise grips and take the stud out. if it broke off flush with the cyilinders then you would have to drill it out and get and easy out or take it to a machine shop. -
i had kinda the same sounds coming from my motor after i got it back. it had been stolen and i got it back the next day but there was this ticking at idle i swore it was my crank but i couldmt but my finger on the noise until i tore it down and noticed my one piston was lose in the bore and when i moved it back and forth i got the same noise. for me to look at the piston and the cylinders i couldnt figuer out how it would make that kinda nosie sounded like two ball bearing clicking together. anyway maybe cheak you compression to see if one cylinder is low
-
rule of thumb cheack compression before fireing. if over 150 psi i would run a mix 50/50 race/pump if over 170 i would run straight. not quote me on that its just a guess but definatly cheak before running.

dude you really have no idea do you. i souldnt sit here and watch people make fun of you anymore. 1 two strokes dont have cams 2 i wouldnt bore you bike out unless it needs to be. going from stock to 3 sizes bigger wont make much of a power difference. plus you only have 5 or 6 bores until you cylinders are junk so use them wisly. 3 if you want more power get some reeds, pipes, jet it correctly, and if not satisfied then. wait till she blows or the compression gets low then send them off to get ported. 4 take no offence to this but i suggest you start reading up on here. theres lots to learn and i think you need lots of it. oh yeah theres no rev limiter in a two stroke. your porting and pipe controls that, and theres not an accual power band like an alastic. Brook
-
omg did you run race fuel. if not thats the reason you blew it up. you compresstion depending on your elevation would be 190 to 160 psi if closer the sea level the highter the compression is. stock done is 22 cc i think if you use them you will be able to run pump gas but you will lose some low end.
-
my buddie has done both lost the nut and welded the ball. two seperate ocations. the time he welded the nut his clutch was locked the lever wouldnt move. so im guessing you lost the nut aswell 100% sure that the problem
-

well i ship out from canada sometimes and its ussualy 10 bussness days but i always get a tracking # to give to the buyer. -
well i know that when i was at the dealer awhile ago he said that the banshee was done in 2007. maybe they are still going for one more year ? but one think the dealer did say was that americans where coming down and buying the banshee's up so im sure it can be done getting it registered but i wouldnt know anything about how to do it. but that would be cool if they went one more year. it would give some of my buddies extr time to save money for a new one lol
-
hm the dirtwheels i was reading the other day said the stock banhsee in 1987 had 48 hp probably a lie just though i would put it out there
-
oh firehead i know the plastic ones are shit mines starting to crack i was just telling the guy that the wear he was probably seeing was from the original one and that the metals ones are better
