  1. 194 upwards they start to shine...
  2. Just plug in another CDI, much less work then removing the pipes and all to remove head, if its not the cdi, then there is a coolant leak or vice verse...
  3. That's is because you're detonating... This is no more a jetting issue...
  4. I am a RZ freak LOL Start on 162 mains and 55 pilots... I think you will settle on 158-160... Airbox or pods??? 55 pilots are to fat for my pods at 3000ft... So at 3000ft 33pwks, 4mm stroker, very very agg porting 33mm pwks it settled on 52 pilots (which are still almost to fat) and 158 mains... You know that those Pro Circuits of yours ain't gonne fit?? Been there done that... PCs is a low/mid pipe which will work good with the YPVS at closed position, but open it has a high exhaust duration and the pipes will not respond good to that... All depends what you're going to do with her... I am considering a 7mm RZ right know... But the transfer durations are going to be a little high, so we'll see if we can sort that out with getting the blow down "in spec"....
  5. I say your CDI is the problem, they can get "stuck" in advance, I had that problem in the past, it was one massive headache... If that's not it, you're leaking coolant into the combustion chamber, did you check your coolant level recently??? maybe very very slow leak that you won't even notice?? Still I think you're having CDI problems... That's why the 170 still looks "off" you do not have "proper" combustion...
  6. Have a smooth 90 degree bend in there.. Banshee stator, because they are more available, new RZ stators is so expensive and I blow about 3 RZ stators over the past 4 years, they are just to old... Running the Zeeltronic ignition with a DC conversion, nothing difficult...
  7. Is your pully also on the right side cylinder??
  8. I have a long range tank, so there is not much space anywhere else but there, except with the longer cables... You need to make a harness, its really no big deal, you need RZ stator and cdi, with zeeltronic cdi like I have, you can run banshee stator... How does you guy's RZs run?? And what mods do you have on them?? Thanks
  9. I moved the YPVS servo pulley with cable bracket to the right, there is much more space now for the left pipe to clear, there is much more space on the right side for these... Some tig welding and machining involve, but was not difficult...
  10. I just spoke to the guys from UPP. They say these are angled up and on the pwks, they will clear the clutch arm. I thought these upp intakes where one of them who makes the carbs don't clear?? I also like the fact that they use a very good material and they will outlast most and will handle the weight of a carb and pod much better. I am going to machine the boss intake to fit these, otherwise I'll just dumped the boss.. Wish I knew this from the beginning.. The 33mm rubbers on my boss is not mikuni rubbers and way to thin for the job..
  11. Upp makes only a rubber intake that looks like the stocker but can adopt the bigger carbs. The boss one has only 2 bolts that hold it on2 the billet piece. Does upp makes a 2 bolt rubber piece for the boss intake??
  12. I had the exact same issue, also used a thin layer of high heat silicon.
  13. I bought a Boss Intake like 4 months ago, the rubber manifolds are perish as hell... I wanted to fit it right know but saw it... Questions: What rubber intakes do boss use on their billet intake, do they make their own or does it come from a specific bike or company like mukini ?? I heard there is a bike that runs with the same rubber manifolds as the boss ones, does someone know what bike it is, its for 33mm carbs? I am from SA and it will help me out if I can buy the rubber manifolds local and safe me a lot of time... Thanks
  14. RZ barrels fit on banshee cases, but banshee barrels do not fit on RZ cases, they do, but the RZ cases do not have enough material to cover the banshee cylinder's base, the water jacket with the rubber plug of the banshee cylinder will be exposed halfway if used on certain RZ cases, they 29L RZ cases is the same as the Banshee ones..
  15. Stock YFZ450 tyres hook up like crazy, but just a few runs and they are done... Most radial tyres hook up better... The yfz and ohtsu are radials...
  16. Thought I combined my post to one, you allready answered, just curious on another note, have you done a cam mod, changing the valve timing to the YZF450s? Try it man... really
  17. I was joking man!!! I know..
  18. Sounds stupid, but this is something small... Just take the back of a screwdriver and knock against the carb bowl, maybe, just maybe the float got stuck for some weird reason... Sounds like a gas problem...
  19. It is up for sale if you can ship it to the US
  20. On some seals there is a little arrow, it should point in the direction the crank rotates...
  21. Very neat man!!
  22. The only from that kart that "came" from australia or the edge is the look and shape, nothing else, the front suspension, and rear has far more travel then the normal edge sidewinder.... I was bashed because it was suppose to be lighter... it weights a little less then I said, about 280kg with fuel and all... It does have a lot of ground clearance... It was a nice toy... RZ350 vs Banshee Well ask most builders who know anything about porting on that side or the known specs... Stock banshee has a exh duration off 180 degrees, RZ350 (depending on model) is 194-197...which is allready dunner-drag in stock form... The cyliders 31k was STOCK standard claimed 58hp compare to the banshee's 37hp... 1UA cylinders was 61hp... So yes in stock form the RZ is MUCH stronger, the advantage with the YPVS is still bottem end with nice killer top... I have a 4mm RZ banshee, even buy just putting a NON ported 31k cylinder RZ motor/cylinders in a Banshee is "like" sending the cylinders out for a port job, you will not believe how the RZ motor pulls the banshee IN STOCK form... The banshhe IN STOCK form will not pull that kart near as close as a RZ motor in STCOK form... I am a member on the RZ forums in europe, the RZs dyno in stock form from 56-62 hp, so the claims is qute accurate from Yamaha... Pint is STOCK for stock is that a RZ is about 20hp stronger then a Banshee motor... Yes a BAnshee motor can outrun a RZ, its just all about port timings... Which is the RZ's advantage in stock form...
  23. Why not just buy the aliens? I thought they where differant headers... Or is it all about the single silencer look??
  24. I've also seen these a few years ago... There was a Banshee one also, just can't find it on the net..
  25. They all comes from 2-3 factories in Taiwan... The stock Yamaha Rods are for sure stronger than n hotrods or wiseco rod... I DO NOT SAY that the aftermarket ones are "junk"... I run the hotrods strokers, but stock rods has unbeatable strength, I guess thats the differance between the Japs and Taiwanese... I haven't heard of a crank that snapped behind the flywheel...
